Bait and switch

Bait and switch. They offered £216 for my iPhone 11. I carefully went through their evaluation criteria and assessed the phone very honestly but received an email saying they had discovered ‘several small chips’ on the back of the phone’ and dropped the value to £160. Seems probable to me that their business model is to offer high prices then drop them on the basis that most people won’t be bothered to ask for a return. Very dishonest.

I have a suspicion about on line outfits…

I have a suspicion about on line companies but Frift exceeded all expectations. The packaging arrived quickly and my old phone went to them. After a few days, I had a call with an offer a little lower than expected but this was raised after a reasonable discussion. The cash value was better than I would have expected from EBay after paying sales fees. Would use Frith again.

Really quick and efficient service

Really quick and efficient service. Picked my phone up through DPD, came back to me with a slightly reduced valuation price due to some screen scratches (was still better than competitors) and transferred me the money the day after it was all agreed.

Think twice about using Frift

Sent galaxy s21 5g back to Frift, comparison site said £186.50 so sent back to them 48 hour tracked post Weds 19th July, confirmed delivered Friday 21st afternoon. Received an email 26th July stating there was some ‘damage’ and the new offer was £170 which we reluctantly accepted. As of Today (29th July) still no payment received. Not entirely sure why it’s taking so long as communication isn’t great. Also had an email on the 26th saying that the payment was pending, crazy to think 5 days after they received the phone that they’d not process the payment quickly given the delay.

Follow up - have provided details as requested, order ID NI0GJT. As of 6pm 31st July, still no payment received. Having read a few reviews I hope you do not try to claim there was a technical error with the payment or that I selected the device was in excellent condition as I can provide the email showing we selected good condition.

Got the price I was quoted

When it came to recycling my old phone I used the top comparison website. Frift came top with the best price for my phone, I've not heard of them before but I went through with it and I it went fine. They sent out a solid postage box for free for me to send my phone back, within a few days they'd checked it and the money sent through no issues. Would use again.

Do not use this place

Do not use this place. If you are on a comparison phone recycle site then use another company. They reduce your payment because of the tiniest wear and tear scratches which I did not even see when I sent it and I inspected it to confirm the condition. I even sent it in the original apple box so there would be no damage en route. The price then offered was a lot less than all of the other comparisons so I would advise anyone to use a different company. Also they are a lot slower than any other recycle company I have used and I had to chase them.

Our goal is to provide a fair and transparent evaluation process for all devices received, and try our best to counter offer as little as possible.

Regarding the processing time and communication, we apologize for any delays or lack of responsiveness you experienced. We strive to provide efficient and timely services, and it appears we fell short in this instance.

This was my first time selling my old

Avoid at all costs

Sent in a perfect iPhone 11 with box charger lead and earbuds all together. The phone was revalued as the battery was at less than 80%. As this phone was 4 years old that’s to be expected and in my opinion gives an easy excuse to pad out the companies profits by reducing the payment. I accepted the payment as I wanted my interaction with this company to be as short as possible. I will certainly NOT be using them again! I would advise people to avoid them at all costs.

Edit: after their response I feel it’s only fair to point out at No time did I put the condition of the device as ‘Excellent’ I used compare and recycle and the highest setting for an item is ‘Good’ so please stop trying to make out I tried to over claim on my device, the battery issue is still just an easy option for padding your profit.

Based on the condition selected initially, which was 'excellent,' the original quote price was calculated. However, as clearly stated in our condition options, an excellent grade device must have a battery percentage of 80% or above. Any device with a lower battery health would fall into the 'faulty' condition category.

We apologize if this information was not adequately communicated to you. Rest assured, it is displayed on our website and in our terms and conditions to ensure transparency. We strive to minimize counter offers whenever possible. Unfortunately, in this instance, your device requires a replacement battery, which incurs additional costs.

DPD Driver never showed.

DPD Driver never showed.

Found the site through Compare and Recycle and went through all the details and sent for a collection with DPD for the 09/07/2023 and was informed I would receive a collection timeslot this morning which I received no message and noone showed. So I have requested to cancel the service if they can't even get the collection right, gives me little confidence about the rest of the process.
