I purchased the Isle Royale Bushcraft Pack with high expectations based on the brand’s reputation, and initially, the craftsmanship did not disappoint. The materials and construction are excellent and clearly built to last.
However, my original experience was impacted by confusion around the waist belt not being included, which was not clearly disclosed at the time. The product photos still showed a waist belt, and there was no clear indication that it had been removed or made optional.

I want to follow up on this, as Frost River ultimately made this right. After connecting with their team, they followed through and sent the waist belt, which is exactly what I expected. They also provided helpful clarification that the belt is intended for stability rather than true load-bearing, which better aligns expectations for how this pack is designed to perform.
More importantly, they took the feedback seriously and made meaningful updates to their product page to prevent this kind of confusion moving forward. Richard and the team went above and beyond in their response, including thoughtful extras and a handwritten note, which speaks to a level of care and accountability that I respect.
The initial issue was frustrating, but the way it was handled matters. In the end, they stood behind their product and their customer. The pack itself is outstanding, and I’m glad to be keeping it.
