On Tuesday 20th April 2021 i called…

On Tuesday 20th April 2021 i called this company for assistance due to me mistakenly putting petrol instead of diesel in my ford transit connect van, a technician named Jay arrived to carry out the syphoning of the petrol to replace with diesel, upon doing this he appeared to be having difficulties with the hoses he was using, some 2 hours later he was continuing to experience difficulties so he suggested going to Halfords to pick up a hand pump as he didnt have one in his vehicle, I explained that I needed to return to work and I would leave my van in his care, i requested that he contact me when he had resolved the issue. Some time later Jay called me to say that there was no response from my van and the engine was dead, I went to see Jay so he could explain the problem and he informed me that the pump wasn't working and that the starter motor may of burnt out, he then said he had been tapping the started motor with a steel bar to check the starter was not in mesh, upon inspecting under the bonnet I noticed a burn mark on top of the starter motor across the live terminal, when I queried this he proceeded to try and remove the burn mark by wiping it, I told him to leave it as i wanted photographic evidence of the damage he had done to my van. I then called a recovery company who came to collect my van and they took it to a local garage at a cost of £60, a mechanic inspected my van and informed me that the main 60AMP fuse was blown also the system needed bleeding as the fuel medic technician had failed to do it, a new starter motor and a new battery, I contacted fuel medic and kindly asked if they would assist me in paying for the damage due to the fact all the damage had occurred as a result of their employee's (Jay) poor workmanship. The cost of the damage to my vehicle came to £347.79, so deducting the cost of the £120 call out charge, I asked the owner of fuel medic if I could be compensated with £220 to settle the cost of the mechanical work carried out as a result of Jays error. After numerous phone calls and repeatedly being ignored i eventually got to speak to the owner/manager again who informed me Jay would be in touch to sort things out and i would be compensated, i spoke to Jay and he requested my bank details and assured me the monies would be paid into my bank by the accounting team that day. I have not received the money and am now being ignored, i have informed the Trading Standards and am seeking legal action for the full cost of £407.79. I do not recommend this company at all!!!

Excellent service

Excellent service. I put unleaded into a diesel Mitsubishi ASX. The BP garage at Longbridge I was at gave me the card. I called and they answered really promptly and said they would be there in 20 minutes. Graham arrived in less than 20 minutes and had it all sorted in less than an hour. Cost was far less than I would have paid to get the RAC out. I totally recommend these guys. Thank you

Had Lee out tonight due to contaminated fuel from Morrisons in Peterborough, what a speedy service, spent best part of 2 hours draining system and cleaning it all out, now have a car that works and their service was priced before arrival and I thought it was fair. I don't normally leave feedback but this was possible one of the best experiences I have had from a company who I knew nothing about, cannot recommend highly enough, thanks Lee and Fuel Medic

Good up to a point

Up to a point, this company provides a good service. They arrived promptly and the technician was friendly and efficient, and we were underway within an hour. However, on our car (a Volvo XC60) the procedure requires removal of a stopper from a vent on the top of the tank, accessed under the rear seat on the side away from the fuel filler. Unfortunately, the technician failed to replace the stopper correctly, with the result that when the tank was next fully filled, fuel started running out from under the car onto the road, which we only noticed when we parked. Not knowing what the problem was, we took the car to our local garage which diagnosed and fixed it, costing almost as much again as the Fuel Medic charge. I then contacted Fuel Medic asking for a contribution to this extra cost but they refused. The initial error was made worse by their amazingly hostile response which is why I have given them only two stars. So be warned: Fuel Medic will get you going but if you have an XC60, double check that the vent stopper on the tank is securely replaced.

PS: FuelMedic has responded that this is a false malicious report. I have copies of all the relevant receipts and emails to demonstrate that it is true. I can supply these on request.

Reply from Fuel Medic

As with the previous review, we believe that this is also a malicious, false report as none of our technicians recall an interaction of this nature with a customer. Please understand that leaving false reviews can damage people's business reputations and it's a shame that this happens at all. All we can do is assure future customers of our genuine care for our work and how we deal with clients.

Wrong Fuel in a Nissan Qashqai

I called Fuel Medic when I put in the wrong fuel on my way to see a client in Birmingham. As my car was new and this was the first time I had put any fuel in, I was really worried about the potential damage. A friend recommended Fuel Medic to help as he had used them a short while ago after putting the wrong fuel into a Transit van and he had had a very positive experience. Mine was very similar, as the engineer arrived very quickly in terrible traffic. He was very kind and courteous and did a great job with the fuel drain. My car started first time when the job was done and I was on my way again very quickly, about 45 minutes after my call. The RAC would have taken 2 hours just to get to me! I would definitely recommend Fuel Medic.
