Getting funding for a startup can be a little daunting, actually a lot daunting but Fund&Grow made it a lot easier. The paperwork was straightforward and the website was easy to access which was great. Even better, the agent I worked with, Sam, was helpful, quick to respond, and really polite. Do not do business with these people! Shady, outright dishonest & have no idea what they're doing. They have a great sales staff that seems attentive, educated and well meaning but as soon as you pay them you never speak to them again. Then you're farmed out through half a dozen operational people, none of which share a fraction of the qualities that the person that promised the world seemed to have. I expressed my concerns to each and every one of them & each one passed them off to the "next person" I would talk to. Finally I got to my "account manager" he claimed to be a professional with many years in this roll at the company (an outright lie) but couldn't answer the simplest of questions, least of all speak to my concerns about first removing inquiries or which of my companies I should use (I have several at various ages) he insisted that any one would do as long as it was 4 months old. He laid out his plan of action including a bank I still owed money to from 10yrs prior (not on my credit report). I told him that we should not apply to that bank & why, he told me that we wouldn't & listed another bank to replace it with. When the denial letters started coming in that was the first bank I received one for. Every denial letter had 2 things in common, the two issues I brought up to half a dozen employees & was brushed off. These were common sense issues that anyone with even a limited working understanding of credit would know were simple fixes that should have definitely been taken care of prior to proceeding. The initial sales person, having looked over my credit profile claimed I should be able to acquire between $100k-$150k in funding by paying
for their service. By the time I made it to the account manager, months later, he told me that he didn't feel confident he could honor that but that he could confidently assure me that he could get me $50k-100k in funding on this first round. After 2 months of back & forth & 7 total inquiries on my credit we finally got an approval for a $7,000 card from Chase. (Low considering at the time my highest limit on a personal card was $10k) He said he would go back to them to have it increased, never happened. Mean while, my company that I had been trying to fund for the months that this went on was growing & with it the cash flow issues that prompted me to seek the funding in the first place. Having been assured that we would attain at least $50k in funding this round I had already started the process of expanding to fit this minimum amount. We ended with $7,000 & too many inquiries on my credit to do what I should have done in the first place: get a good old fashioned working capital loan. This left me no choice but to leverage my personal credit which was only slightly over half that figure. From there everything cascaded down & what was a great credit profile with years of age & a strong business building steam both began to plummet as a result of the ignorance, mismanagement & overall lack of accountability of this companies staff & the assurances they made. To top it all off I reached out to Ryan, the head of operations several times. After multiple attempts to get past his gate keeper we made an arrangement for my business partner to utilize the second slot on my membership (which is already supposed to be included) and my being referred to their sister company Kaydem Credit Help to have the inquiries removed. Both processes went the same as my original experience, with both of us being farmed through their operational processes for over a year, run in circles, by the time they actually went to remove the inquiries they said they had been on there too long at that point & instead targeted inquiries not from the fund & grow process (w/o my approval) but rather from my credit union that subsequently led to them closing my largest limit, longest standing card. Then when my business partner was finally positioned how they requested him to be they told him that my account was closed & they wouldn't be helping him anymore. Do not trust these people w/ your finances!

Process was slow
Process was slow, I made it clear on my urgency, yet I was unable to improve the timing of my requests. It has been just under 2 months, and I'm waiting for my credit to arrive now (7-10 days), so it will be over 2 months by the time I have something tangible. I feel it was represented that I would see closer to $100K in the first round, ending to be less than half that amount was disappointing. I was also surprised that it's my responsibility to remove the credit requests off my record, I thought that was included in the services. Overall, what was promised was delivered, but only a middle level of performance.
