Zero customer care. Arrogant. Don’t trust what you see online.

It was a few years ago now (so exact date has passed us by) but I always vowed to tell our story…

We bought a relatively expensive rug from this company based on online photographs. There was no exact description of colours but we trusted the colour-matching based on their images. What arrived was nothing like what we ordered. In fact you would have thought they had sent a completely different rug with different colourways. So for example what we thought was a burnt wine colour was orange. What thought was a bright wine was bright orange etc. When we contacted the company they basically said tough. When we said we’re sending the rug back, they said they would refuse to accept it. We took the matter to our Trading Standards team who agreed with our viewpoint I.e. what we had received looked nothing like what we had ordered based on the onscreen ‘description’. When our TS team contacted Funkrugs they basically said tough, the rug is made to order and non-returnable, and if we wanted to challenge them then bring it on! We didn’t need the stress so they got away with it. This left a very bitter taste as we had spent a significant amount of money on a rug that didn’t suit our house whatsoever. It was wrapped up, put in our loft where it has resided ever since. A horrible horrible experience.

Cheap rug, cheap quality

I bought a rug from here last year. It was a good price and looks nice in my living room. However within a year it developed many pulls, tufts of fibre sticking up out of the rug. I emailed the company and they said this was normal wear and tear and they wouldn't cover it, not a quality issue. I've owned many rugs and never had this 'ware and tare' problem as they called it before. Cheap rug, cheap quality. Pay a bit more and get a better rug.
