Some information for you below regarding our formulation and the reasoning behind using it.
• The active ingredient in Turmeric+ is called Curcuma Phospholipid Complex, which is a combination of curcumin (the active ingredient from turmeric) and the natural fat lecithin. This combination improves the bioavailability of curcumin, making T+ about 30x more absorbable than standard turmeric.
• Black pepper is a compound known also to boost bioavailability. Piperine (the active compound in black pepper) is thought to improve absorption by multiple mechanisms, such as preventing the curcumin to be secreted or degraded out the cell.
• Data shows that combination with phospholipid is a much more effective way to increase absorption of curcumin than black pepper.
• The combination of curcumin with lecithin improves the absorption of the curcumin through the cellular phospholipid membrane, which is made of fat molecules (some of them present in the lecithin). Black pepper’s effect seems to be mainly at the gut level, and it’s not clear the effect on cellular absorption.
