I chose this particular model for a couple of reasons that do with cost and stability. This particular model was the last generation to use the old style keyboard before Apple changed it for the Butterfly version in late 2015 which is for the user a very unstable design. The track-pad was also upgraded with force on this model from the 2014 version to a force touch that could be clicked or tapped anywhere on the track-pad. The previous generations are only bottom left and right responsive. This 2015 version can also run PCIe x 3 which mean much faster SSD via NVMe drives can be used and in fact doubling the read and write speeds and boot speeds of the Macbook. The previous generations only have PCIe 2.0 x 2 and are much slower. In conclusion this particular model is about the best value MacBook Pro your money might buy at the moment. It can handle all the latest SSD formats and speeds (via Sintech adapter) and it has the much hardier keyboard that if looked after will last as long as your MacBook and is something that cant be said for 2016 to 2019 MacBooks.
I would like to mention Gadget Converters before I go as they gave me exactly what they advertised here in regards to the MacBooks condition and the 12 month guarantee (which in truth is probably not going to be needed) sealed the deal and beat any current eBay offer, well worth it!
