Gail’s-you are dead to me!

We used to be great fans of Gail’s bakery before Covid, a real treat place and we used to go most weekends.
Now most of the locations have turned into places where the staff are not at all friendly, the place is never clean and to top it all you now don’t even get a ‘free’ loaf when you collect 9 stamps-you have to actually buy something to get your ‘free’ loaf after spending at least £25 per visit!!! Extortionate.
And to make matters worse the app doesn’t even log your visits correctly I have been then at least 3 times and it didn’t add any stamps-I suggest you all go to Ole & Steen, the food is fresher, cheaper, and the loyalty scheme is much fairer!

So sad

So sad - everything looked gorgeous but bagel stale and inedible. Pastrami had great lumps of fat on it. Drinks in plastic cups without flavour.

A truly thankless and outrageously expensive experience!

Gosh, what a disappointment from the kick-off! After clearing and wiping down our own table we sat down to enjoy (not!) the cold, dehydrated and bordering on stale almond croissants, overpriced sea salt, caramel banana and pecan cake and luke warm lattes with dirty cutlery (maybe their dishwasher needs a service?)

I avoided using the bathroom as my companion informed me that it was filthy (please take note Gail's a dirty bathroom is not a good look) and all-in-all it was a truly thankless and outrageously expensive experience. All franchises are not made equal! Buyer beware!

Don’t bother going to Cobham Gail’s bakery

I went to Cobham Gail’s and not only were the toilets filthy with no toilet paper the tables were never cleared or cleaned whilst I was there. When I asked why the hot chocolate was served in smaller cups than the cappuccino I was confronted by a sullen and dismissive member of staff. I have never complained before but the whole experience was unpleasant! I live in Chester where I was so pleased that a Gail’s was opening but now feel totally different!!

Please review your hygiene practise!

Visited your Cobham branch on 29.03.24 Good Friday. Recently we had been impressed with our visit to your Farnham shop.
Sadly this visit was not in the same league. The cheese, chicken and ham quiche was lovely. Wish we could say the same about the mozzarella and overly filled with pesto Focaccia bread sandwich.
The public staff were very polite and having to deal with a busy and demanding Bank holiday. Unfortunately we had the awful experience of witnessing a female prep-assistant (with a long dark plaited pony tail) making up the Foccasia sandwiches in their open kitchen. We ran out of counting how many times she wiped her nose with the same hand that was handling the food. None of the prep staff wore prep gloves either. Totally not acceptable! We will be returning home asap to use some ‘First Defence’! Terrible experience and as you can imagine we won’t be returning to your Cobham shop!
