Lovely breakfast although I had to wait 40 minutes for a Bagel and coffee. I went into the shop at 0730 and I was only one of three customers.

I you want a really dreadful cup of "coffee" at the top end of the pricing curve, youll find it at gails. Milky, creamy, no taste or smell of coffee, at nearly £4 a pop! In a small coffee cup with no handle, served luke "johnson" warm, so you dont stay too long. I make much better coffee at home for 60p a shot. When we last asked for a slice of lemon drizzle at guildford, we were informed that we had to buy the whole cake! Its a joke. Avoid at all costs.

The baked egg dish should be renamed the cremated egg. My egg took nearly 30 minutes from ordering and one chase to be delivered. There wa little evidence of any cheese and very over cooked eggs. Not ordering this dish ever again.

Glorious Guildford Gails ...just sayin'
I have been to the Guildford Cafe loads of times since they opened. I don't drink coffee, but do like peppermint tea, their bottled lemonade, and recently a daily avocado on toast snack. Ample portions, and excellent service - especially from Shania... Super service, great attitude, and she even laughs at my jokes !
What more could a guy wish for ? Thanks.

Gails Guildford very disappointing
Think twice about going to Gails in Guildford on a Saturday if you are on your own. Even at 4pm, there was no seating and a whole load of chairs were being used to rope off space. Having ordered a butternut slice (given everything looked tired) and a coffee for the sole purpose of sitting down for 20 minutes, i quickly discovered once I ordered there was no chance of sitting down. I converted my coffee to takeaway and requested a bag for the slice, which despite me asking to be heated, was stone cold. Gross and unappetising. I was informed they don’t heat slices. Binned the slice and found a lovely independent coffee house up the lane. Gails is hugely overpriced and overrated.
