Always love Gail's Bakery. This one in Hove is very nicely located, and is a welcome addition to the locality. Nice coffee, delicious Danish and bread. Highly recommended. Oh, and friendly staff too!

Very disappointing
Gail's Bakery this afternoon must have been the noisiest place in Hove! We went for a nice cup of tea and a chat but we couldn't hear ourselves over the clatter and crash of trays and washing up and breakages! It really spoilt our visit please Gails have some thought for your customers!

Visited Gail’s Church Road
Visited Gail’s Church Road, Hove today with friends. Although their pastries are delicious but pricey, we decided on Gail’s to get out of the rain! I had a pain aux raison and a tea for £6.80. We went upstairs and the young man carried our tray up the stairs. My friend had a hot chocolate which cost nearly £4! This would have been ok if not for the fact that it was presented in a tea cup and not a mug! Ridiculously overpriced for what it was. We wanted sugar but as there wasn’t any on the tables my friend went downstairs. The young lady she spoke to was quite off hand and instead of regular sugar gave her packets of sweetener and said that was all they had! I never use sweetener but did. A bit odd for a cafe not to have sachets of sugar isn’t it? All in all, considering the prices etc we all agreed we would not be frequenting Gail’s again. We did visit this chain for a few months last year but again felt it was too pricey and went elsewhere. We won’t make the same mistake again. This time it was high prices and poor service.
