South Woodford. Expensive, pretentious, uncomfortable chairs, heating cranked up far too high - and they won't accept cash. Avoid.

Wonderful service, attentive staff, especially when making my coffee, a lovely ambiance and delicious food!!

I had Fantastic coffee and pastry. Staff are very friendly.. they always say hello , hi and good smile on their face. Love coffee from Gail’s.

Probably the worse coffee shop on the High Street (South Woodford) particularly but also generally amazing how staff get pass the interview process most of them seem most interested in themselves than the customers Tea Coffee not particularly good pastries cakes and bread all appear over priced not much going for it even the decor looks cheap and nasty for me Very Sorry Gail’s it just doesn’t work plenty more options on the high street appears the new mums with there designer babies like to be seen there. ⭐️

I had written a negative comment last year which I cannot see. From the managers to the girls everyone is so rude at this place.
Southwoodford had multiple cafes and I am surprised they can afford to have such a rude attitude.

I visited this shop at 8:20 AM and purchased two salmon and avocado baguettes. After eating one, I noticed a strange bitter aftertaste, and the bread was dry and stale. I returned the second baguette, mentioning the bitterness. The manager asked the kitchen staff to check the ingredients, but I had to wait in line again for a replacement. Shockingly, the manager sold the remaining salmon baguette to another customer, warning them in Spanish about potential issues!

I received a fresh croissant as a replacement, which was good, but it was cheaper than the baguette, and I wasn’t offered a refund for the price difference. Afterward, the kitchen claimed nothing was wrong with the baguette, which felt like a dismissive response.

With multiple breakfast options just minutes from my home, I expect better service and quality. I won’t be returning.

Since Gail's popped up in s.woodford. I was unhappy as they would not accept cash!
Friday when their systems were down and could not process card payments, shockingly they still would not accept cash, being frustrated with this I told staff i would never return to their stores, the 3 staff members a woman and a man around 8 am Friday 19th July, told me to go then and don't come back.
I would never use any of their branches in any area.
Cash should be accepted anyway even more so when they cannot process card payments

Terrible place! Touchy, miserable staff! Up their own a****! Get the order wrong and blame you!! Over rated over priced!!!

Ordered a surprise bag that puts together things left at the end of the day. Totally disappointed with what was inside. The 2 buns where fine but the bread was burnt which is probably why it wasn't sold during the day, I wasn't prepared to even try it. I realise that you take pot luck at what they give you but even so it should of a standard that is edible. I'm in no hurry to ever go back.
