Hygiene/cleanliness could be improved

(Tunbridge Wells)
Food and drink were fine (as usual at a Gail’s) but although the café was quiet the unoccupied tables (and in one case the benches) were covered in crumbs/sticky mess/spilt liquid
The staff (3 of them and not doing much) were not friendly or engaged in keeping the place clean
Finally, a golden retriever type dog stood on its hind legs and put its paws on the counter where the staff serve the drinks from (the staff seemed to tolerate the dog and did not even wipe the surface after this)

Hello Patrycja, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
Our decision to go cashless was made to streamline our operations and enhance safety for both customers and team. It's also in line with our sustainability efforts, as we no longer have to transport cash (by car) from our 100+ locations. We appreciate the inconvenience and hope you can understand we are doing this for what we believe are the right reasons. If you would like to discuss this further, please get in touch with our central Customer Experience team via gailsbread.co.uk/contact-us quoting this review.

Tunbridge Wells. Ordered a cappuccino to have in, I think I've had more froth on a flat white. The server asked if I wanted chocolate and I said yes. None was on the coffee when made. I couldn't be bothered with having a dispute about why. Most underwhelmed.
