Total Scam

Gainsaver was part of Back Market’s trade-in program. We sent them a flawless laptop, and in return, they tried to scam us by sending a photo of a dented laptop that wasn’t ours, claiming that was what they received. They then had the audacity to slash the offer from $329 down to $150. When we refused and demanded our laptop back, they shipped us an empty box. Later, we learned the laptop had been stolen, and now the matter is under investigation by Back Market.

This company is a blatant scam operation. Their scheme is simple: they lie and say your device is damaged, hoping you’ll give up and let them keep it for next to nothing. But if you push back and demand your item back, they don’t return it—they send an empty box and keep your property. It’s theft, pure and simple, and from what we’ve learned, this isn’t an isolated case—it’s their business model.

I purchased a laptop from a third-party…

I purchased a laptop from a third-party seller on Amazon who claimed it was in good working condition. However, as soon as I turned it on, it started making a strange scratching noise — clearly something was wrong internally.

I contacted the seller through Amazon to report the issue and request a refund for the return shipping (which I had to cover myself). I received no response. I then called them directly, and they told me to go to their website and fill out a form, which I did — still no reply.

I called again and found that if you select the “sales” option, a human answers quickly. But if you choose “customer service,” it’s just an automated message directing you to the same website. When I finally managed to speak to someone, they simply repeated that I had to use the online form and told me no one was available to speak with me directly.

This whole process has been incredibly frustrating. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and refusal to provide proper customer support is unacceptable. I’m very disappointed and would strongly advise others to avoid this seller.

MacBook Scammers

I bought a used MacBook from the company. They offer a 30 day warranty. During that time I could barely reach them and the computer started to malfunction 1 week after purchasing. After the 30-days, they completely ignored me and offered no assistance in troubleshooting the computer. The computer had glitches from the start. I tried to leave a review on their website and they deleted my review and wouldn't allow me to comment.
