Garden Lawn Edging Reviews 

An awful experience - poor customer service and low quality product (aluminium slug barrier). Ordered barriers and corner units end of March. After a few weeks contacted to say out of stock and given options to wait or refund. Decided to wait. I had to follow up with them multiple times and eventually turned out only corner units out of stock so they agreed to ship barriers. By this time I had found out based in Germany not UK as website implied so shipping took longer than I thought it would and items are aged slightly damaged due to poor packaging and flimsy product. I had to build a wooden surround and attach the slug barrier to the wood for strength.

Then have had to follow up with them multiple times for rest of order which appears to be lost. They said they would update me on their investigations into where items are but no update.

I would not recommend using them.

The other reviews are truly lying, they edged me for so long I couldn’t take it anymore and had to pay them for 3 overtime cleanups! One of the fizziest experiences I’ve ever had, thanks for the goonage.

garden-lawn-edging.co.uk - so, you would think a customs charge wouldn’t apply because at first sight it looks like the company is in the UK?
In my opinion a lack of up-front transparency on checkout where I believe it could/should have warned you that the VAT they mentioned wasn’t the whole story if you are outside of the EU, and really they are in Germany not the UK, (therefore you might have assumed in ignorance that the mentioned VAT in the checkout detail was you covered (in error)! But after an enquiry that was replied in German and then a detailed read of their small print, sadly after the fact, this proves otherwise. An extra 80 pounds on arrival, about 30% more!
Improvements:
1)Say you are in Germany as it looks like its from the UK!
2)The checkout price breakdown once you know the delivery address is outside of the EU should warn customers of the below small print before the customer commits to buy!

6.3 If delivery is made to countries outside of the European Union, we may incur unreasonable additional costs, such as duties, taxes or money transfer fees (transfer or foreign exchange fees charged by the banks), which you must bear.

I assume you work on the theory customers will only ever buy from you once and never again, so a surprise like this isn't factored into your sales process!
