Autumn Joy Sedum is one of the most dependable upright sedums for sunny gardens. This is a classic plant that blooms beautifully at the end of summer. It survives all kinds of temperatures. Propagates easily from a stem. We had another one over thirty years old in the family, I guess you could call it an “heirloom “ plant. Sadly the original one perished during a blazing summer of hundred degree days for 2 1/2 months. It appeared some critter was using it for water as it slowly disappeared. We tried to resurrect a new plant saved by a barrel alive stem but our cat got it. It survives below freezing temperatures 32 degrees and under. Not sure if it survives extreme cold temperatures. In winter while dormant it shrinks to little cabbage lie flowers about the size of a quarter close to the ground. Very hardy unless a critter wanting water or a cat gets the last stem! So make sure there are a few specimens growing so if one disappears there are other sibling plants. Definitely recommend. Gorgeous, reliable blooms, hardy in all kinds of temperatures, easy to propagate, will last decades. Forgot to mention we had ours in a planter pot and terracotta pot.
