I was having crypto on their exchange that was delisted, to withdraw it they said 9$ of fees but when I try to withdraw they take 80$ worth of the holding, resulting in taking all the holding of the crypto I want to withdraw, they regularly delist token and take it from client and saying they repurchase it, but will repurchase for 1% of the value.

Be careful with these scammers

GATE IO - WHOLE SCAM

THIS EXCHANGE BLOCKED MY FUNDS MORE THAN HALF A YEAR AGO. 9000 USD
No clear answer, nothing, sent to the prosecutor's office of a foreign country to which I appealed through a lawyer. The prosecutor's office replied that they did not request blocking of the account or funds, but just clarified the details of the transaction.
Half a year later my funds are also blocked and the exchange does not respond to my requests
If you want to store your assets in a safe place - this exchange is definitely a bad option.

🚨 Scam Alert by Gate.io?

🚨 Scam Alert by Gate.io?

I bought DOGE5L tokens on Gate.io at prices like $2–$3. Recently, they performed a reverse split and deducted my entire balance (0.52 DOGE5L) without warning.

When I contacted support, they gave a generic reply and shared a reverse split article that didn’t even mention DOGE5L — it only listed other tokens (DOGE5S, ETH5S, etc).

⚠️ This is clearly misleading and unfair. How can you remove tokens from user accounts without proper public notice or clear documentation?

🔍 I demand a proper explanation and recovery of my token value. This is real money lost and Gate.io must take responsibility.

I’m posting this publicly because many users are losing trust in centralized exchanges like this. Be careful where you put your funds.

@gate_io @gateioglobal — respond publicly.

After they they made up all kind of lies to avoid paying me. God knows what other kind of problems they are causing other people. New Price=1.28×(1+0.7692)=1.28×1.7692≈$2.26

but TGT3S price was 0.62$

This ETF system control by gateio own team

Title: Serious execution bug — full balance used despite selecting amount, support ignoring evidence and replying with templates

I recently experienced a very serious execution/UI bug on Gate.io that caused a loss of approximately $1,500.

I manually selected 200 USDT (cross margin, 5× leverage), but the system ignored this and opened a position using my full balance.

I placed a limit order at 0.68, but the backend recorded it at 0.00888 — clear decimal/system error.

When my PnL was around –300, I tried to close the position but received "Order price exceeds bankruptcy price" errors. I could not close it despite being far from liquidation.

I provided video proof clearly showing this bug (at 14–15 seconds: selected $44 using the slider; at 16–17 seconds: system suddenly switches to full balance automatically without any input). Despite this, support completely ignores the main issue and keeps replying with irrelevant template answers. They do not address the real problem at all and seem to avoid any technical investigation.

Video proof:
Due to platform rules, I cannot post the Google Drive link here, but it has been fully shared with Gate.io support.

I chose Gate.io because I trusted its security and reliability. This incident completely undermined my trust and raises serious concerns about platform integrity.

I kindly ask Gate.io to properly escalate my case to the technical team, review my evidence carefully, and provide fair compensation for the loss directly caused by this execution bug.

If this case is resolved fairly and transparently, I am ready to update my review.

Beware of Gate.io

Beware of Gate.io – My Experience

I want to share my experience with Gate.io, which I believe to be a scam exchange. They do not respond to help or support tickets, and they can lock your funds without any prior notice or explanation.

Yesterday, I attempted to withdraw my funds from Gate.io. Instead of processing the withdrawal, the platform imposed an unexpected 8-hour delay. After the waiting period, my funds disappeared from my Gate.io account, yet nothing ever arrived in my Binance wallet.

Gate.io has offered no support or clarification regarding this issue. I urge everyone to be extremely cautious when using this exchange.

Summary of the Issue:

Summary of the Issue:

I held a token named “HOME” on Gate.io. Without any prior user notice or consent, the platform renamed it to “OTTER HOME”.

A completely different token was launched using the same original name “HOME”, effectively replacing my asset.

The original token (now OTTER HOME) was frozen and scheduled for delisting. There is no market liquidity for it elsewhere.

I was offered a forced compensation at a price of 0.0000009 USDT, while the last market value of my token was 0.0000047 USDT – an artificial loss of over 80%.

Gate.io was the only exchange trading the original token. Therefore, any loss in value and trading access was entirely caused by their internal actions.

Scammers on their exchange there was an abnormal growth of the coin LA, they themselves recognized it because of this large number of users lost their money, then they changed their mind and refused to compensate for the damage, although the manipulation is visible to all and them too! Gate.io Liquidated My Position Using a Fake Price – Then Refused to Compensate

Gate.io liquidated my LA/USDT futures position based on a price that did not exist on any other exchange. Their own Chief Business Officer later admitted there was anomalous index data from one of their sources, which caused a chain reaction and forced liquidations. Despite this, Gate now claims they followed “the rules” and are refusing compensation.

Even worse, their support team initially promised a rollback and full refund, but quietly reversed this, leaving users like me with losses caused by their internal failure.

In April 2024, Gate.io handled a similar issue (NADA/USDT) properly by compensating affected users. Why is this time different? What changed?

This isn’t just technical error — it’s a breach of trust. Gate.io has failed to protect its users and is now stonewalling honest traders who were hurt by their own system's malfunction.

If you value fairness, transparency, and accountability — stay away from Gate.io.

$LA Futures Liquidation Incident (June 4, 2025)

We represent a coalition of traders who suffered substantial financial harm due to the catastrophic market anomalies surrounding the $LA perpetual futures listing on Gate.io on June 4, 2025. What transpired was not a routine market event but a preventable failure of pricing safeguards—one that demands regulatory scrutiny and accountability.

The Flawed Index & Its Consequences
Gate.io’s $LA futures contract derived its index price from multiple exchanges, including KuCoin, a platform notorious for illiquid markets. While $LA stabilized around $5 on reputable exchanges, KuCoin experienced an artificial spike to $50—an outlier that should have been excluded or weighted differently. Instead, Gate.io’s uncritical reliance on this data caused its futures price to surge 40x (from $0.60 to $25) in minutes.

The result? Thousands of traders were liquidated, even those with prudent leverage (e.g., 5x–10x), simply because the index became untethered from reality. No legitimate market movement justifies such extreme distortions—only a failure in risk design.

Gate.io’s Admissions Confirm Systemic Failure
Kevin Lee (Gate.io CBO) publicly acknowledged "abnormal activity" in the $LA market

The exchange’s official announcement conceded pricing "deviations" during the listing

Yet despite recognizing the flaw, Gate.io has refused restitution, dismissing these losses as "market risk" when they were, in fact, caused by the exchange’s own inadequate safeguards.

Our Request
We urge your office to:

Investigate whether Gate.io’s index methodology met industry standards for fair pricing.

Determine if the exchange’s lack of circuit breakers or outlier filters constituted negligence.

Assess whether affected traders are owed compensation given the platform’s role in amplifying losses.

We stand ready to provide detailed evidence, including trade histories, liquidation records, and user testimonies. This was not trading—it was a structural breakdown, and those impacted deserve transparency and redress.

Situation with Gate.io and abnormal prices on the LA/USDT pair

I encountered a very unpleasant situation while using the Gate.io platform. During a period when there was an abnormal price surge on the LA/USDT pair, the price skyrocketed from around 0.50$ to 27$, which is an extreme jump. Such a price increase was not observed on any other exchanges; no other platform showed prices even close to that level.

Despite this, my funds were deducted cause this situation. This caused me great disappointment and a loss of trust in the platform.

Unfortunately, the support service was unable to provide clear explanations or resolve the issue promptly. Such behavior raises serious concerns about the security, reliability, and transparency of the exchange.

I hope that the company's management will take responsibility for this incident and return the funds to those affected. Otherwise, I will be forced to reconsider my options for working with this platform and advise others to be cautious.

I warn other users: be vigilant and monitor your funds carefully, especially during periods of high market volatility or unusual price movements.

On June 4

On June 4, 2025, the Gate.io mobile application enabled trading of a futures contract tied to $LA, which was priced using a distorted index. This index incorporated data from an illiquid exchange, resulting in the asset’s value being artificially inflated—up to 40 times higher than its actual market rate. As a result, numerous traders experienced automatic liquidations and significant losses.

Although Gate.io acknowledged the irregular price movement, they declined to offer compensation to the impacted users. This situation raises serious questions about the platform’s commitment to user protection and financial integrity.

Avoid Gate.io

Avoid Gate.io – serious price manipulation issue and no compensation

On June 4, 2025, I was liquidated on a $LA futures position after the price spiked more than 40x due to a manipulated index including data from a low-liquidity exchange. This clearly wasn’t a normal market move — it was a platform failure.

I lost $6,256 through no fault of my own. Gate.io admitted the price was abnormal, but refused to offer any compensation or help. Their risk systems clearly failed, and their response was unacceptable.

I’ve submitted a formal complaint and am preparing to escalate the matter to CySEC and the Financial Ombudsman.

I strongly advise others to avoid using Gate.io — the platform is unsafe and unreliable during volatile events.

⚠️ Unjust Liquidation on Gate.io

⚠️ Unjust Liquidation on Gate.io — Price Manipulation or System Failure?
I was liquidated on two LAUSDT short positions on June 4, 2025, due to an abnormal and unexplained price spike to 21.87 USDT, while the real spot price of LA was under 1 USDT. I lost over $1,900 USDT on what can only be described as a technical failure or manipulation.

Gate.io support refuses to compensate, claiming everything “worked according to the rules” — yet they refuse to share any real index data or pricing source to justify that outrageous price.

They say they “covered my negative balance” as if that’s a favor — while completely ignoring the fact that the liquidation itself never should have happened.

I have already notified them that I will escalate the issue to:
• The Bank of Lithuania
• The FSA of Seychelles
• Public crypto communities including Reddit and X

Gate.io users: beware of futures trading on this platform. If this can happen to me, it can happen to anyone.

Stay away from Gate.io if you value transparency, fairness, or your capital.
Date of experience: June 04, 2025

Thank you for your response. However, you did not address the core questions and key facts:
1. The exchange has previously compensated users for losses resulting from anomalous prices — for example, in the case of the NADA perpetual contract (official announcement dated May 26, 2024: [link]). Why was this precedent not followed in my case?
2. A Gate.io employee — Kevin Lee — publicly stated on June 4, 2025 via Twitter:

“After verifying orders during the anomaly period, compensation will be issued. Please wait for the official announcement.”
📎 I have a screenshot of this tweet. However, it was later deleted. This raises serious concerns of intentionally retracting a public promise of compensation.

3. ADL (Auto Deleveraging) was not triggered, despite extreme price spikes, and the platform’s marking mechanism allowed a sharp deviation of the mark price from the actual market value.
4. I understand that markets can be volatile. However, when your platform derives a mark price from inadequate sources (such as KuCoin with low liquidity), the responsibility for liquidations caused by such discrepancies falls on you. Otherwise, the platform creates systemic risk for all traders.
5. You claim these were “emergency measures to protect users,” yet the burden of losses was borne entirely by the users — not the platform.
6. To restore user trust, I urge Gate to compensate affected users — as you have done in the past — especially since you acknowledged both the abnormal price and your responsibility. Your refusal, coupled with a lack of transparent compensation policy, significantly undermines confidence in the platform.
