YOU HAVE TO PAY THE BILL

Last evening with my parthner and his sons went to Gaucho in piccalilly in London, we had a nice meal despite the service wasn't great, we were served by an inexperienced young lady. When we finished our meal, my partner went to pay the bill and when that was done we walked away heading home. At some point a guy from Gaucho started screaming in the middle of the road, if front of other clients and general public " YOU HAVE TO PAY THE BILL" that moment ruined the mood of the evening, it was embarrassing and very distasteful.
I believe before screaming you have to pay the bill you have to be sure 100% because that is real bad! And that did not happen last night.
Never again in that chain

Shocking treatment of customers!

Four of us wanted a steak experience, which we got. Good was good, albeit expensive even by London standards. The meat came with no sides, hence the bill of £90pp with only one bottle of wine amongst us four. Service was non-existent, waitress disappeared for long stretches with us waving other waiters down for some service.
In the end, we went to the front desk to settle the bill as the waitress was missing in action again….. we didn’t even fight the “discretionary” service charge.
Much to my amazement a senior guy came running after us alleging that we didn’t settle our bill! After setting the record straight, all we got was a “sorry for the misunderstanding”.
Never again!!

Amazing restaurant with brilliant staff!

Was my first time to visit Gaucho restaurant as my Mum was treating me and my Sister, her husband and kids.
Shaffin greeted us with a warm smile and top notch service. Having to slalom with drinks (while my curious baby nephew stood in the way), did not deter him from doing an excellent job. Shaffin also made a great demonstration of what steak meat we could go for.

Greatstaff and food but......

The waiters and the food were incredible.
The only thing that spoiled it was they allowed two young children to run around as we ate. They were touching all the tables and standing on chairs. Spoilt the atmosphere a bit. The parents were bothered either.
This was Manchester.

What an amazing steak we had!

What an amazing steak we had! Lukash has kindly helped to choose the right one and he also paired with the best red wine! He has taking in consolations all our points and delivered an outstanding service with a happy smile. Everything arrived fairly quickly! Truly enjoyed and be back soon! Victoria & Alex ps: Piccadilly one.

Absolute quality food & service …

Been to Edinburgh & Liverpool and the food in both restaurants are amazing.
Excellent service from start to finish in both. Cannot fault, would highly recommend.

Wine prices outrageous

The food was OK at the Birmingham branch. But my local steak restaurant in rural Worcestershire is better.
But what I found truly appalling is the mark up on wine. A good bottle - costing £21 in the shops, is now sold at over £90 here.
Now I know that it's tough running a business. I run one myself. But these mark-ups are outrageous. The cheapest wines on offer are expensive and of very poor quality.
It really doesn't have to be like this. I did write to express my dissatisfaction afterwards and sadly got a really pathetic reply. I won't be returning. They are probably making a £65 margin on just serving a single bottle of wine. Not for me thanks.

Booked a table for 3 people in Covent…

Booked a table for 3 people in Covent garden, arrived 15 minutes ahead of time, sat in the bar because there was no table free, went past our 5pm table time so asked and they had forgotten to tell us it was ready... went downstairs to the table to find the place was half empty so not sure why we had to wait. Ordered the 700g ribeye to share at a cost of 72 quid. On arrival at the table it looked like half was missing, so I asked if this really was a 700g steak, yes the waiter lied. A 400g fillet arrived on the next table and definitely didn't look to be 42% smaller than our steak. There were also tiny portions of vegetables and chips. The starters were OK but the steak tartar was tiny. On a good note, we ordered two bottles of water, one still one sparkling, they arrived correctly as ordered and looked to be the 75cl they claimed to be, so something was not short measured... I would never return to a gaucho, overpriced, under weight, and totally underhand pricing and cheek to add a tip. Buy a steak from a butcher and cook at home is my recommendation.

In all the years I’ve been going to steak restaurants this is only time I didn’t finish my meal

We drove an hour to the restaurant for my partners birthday. Both our steaks came dead cold. They did re heat the steaks (which one arrived still cold and the other too cooked) but by then our sides were cold. They then brought new sides but by then the steaks were cold again. We didn’t want to complain anymore as all the staff are lovely and helpful so just tried to accept it but our meal and evening was pretty much ruined. Beautiful venue, very nice staff but the quality of food is genuinely the worst we’ve ever had. Considering how expensive it is and the fact they saw we left half the entire meal on our plate I don’t think they should of charged us to be honest. We feel robbed and very upset.

Lovely Meal and Service

We recently went for the second time to the Edinburgh restaurant and as with the first visit the food was excellent. The steaks were perfectly cooked and rich in taste.
The Gaucho team were all very polite and friendly helping give the atmosphere a high class but relaxed one.

Terrible experience in their RIchmond…

Terrible experience in their RIchmond restaurant. In a half empty restaurant they sat us by the toilet entrance. I asked to be moved for the obvious reasons and they serves said no. I said this was nit acceptable and he said then go somewhere else which we did. That's it, that was our experience.
