We called out an engineer for a boiler issue and were told it was £68 call out charge. The engineer came then we recieved an email stating we would be charged £255 a hour! The Engineer was great and he helped but this was unfair on him. We managed to cancel but still paid the call out. Which was £80+. Would not be using again due to lack of transparency and costs.

This company is a rip off! Either the engineer that sent is incompetent or was operating under instructions to take as long as possible to complete the job. The final charge was outrageous.

Charged me £485 for telling me that the thermostat needed changing.
They were not clear on the pricing. The engineer was rude, threatening and disrespectful and backed off only when I told him that I had a friend here who was witness to what was happening.

Had the audacity to write in the invoice that the customer stopped the work because they did not want to pay. The experience has left me utterly disgusted and in a state of disbelief. We had an emergency situation and did not check the reviews on here before calling them. (Big blunder). Lesson learnt.

Didn’t fix anything called them back and didn’t turn up . Scam

Overpriced under qualified plumber sent , tried to tell us the the drainage flowed uphill and charged 400 for the privilege of not fixing anything or even finding the issue.

Dreadful service. I had a blocked drain that they spent 4 hours investigating, and about 5 minutes doing the work. Charged me £1120 and told me that i should call dyno-rod (who charge 160 flat rate )

Also lied on the invoice and said i changed my mind and didn't want to go through with it when in fact they had told me they couldn't do the job. Nothing was fixed with 4 hours and a hefty fee.

I feel like I got robbed, small 10 mins job and they charged me £620. Took the advantage of my wife being alone at home and non-experienced.The invoice paid to a personal account not the company one, so I guess they avoid paying taxes.

Wasn't clear about pricing over the phone, only mentioned a call out fee of £69. Didn't mention the admin fee of 10% of the bill, the £195 labour fee per hour, which even when the work only took 20 minutes, still got charged for the full hour. Only found about the price when the plumber actually turned up (the next day, even though we had booked the same day due to a leak). They then demand payment on receipt, which is tricky when the entire bill comes to £356.40 for a 20 minute job and to swop a £6 bit of pipe!

Avoid at all costs, GBSE Ltd is basically a scam.

Your company is unethical and I will be reporting you to FCA whistle blower service. Your fees and pricing is ludicrous! You are not forthcoming about your fees when the initial booking takes place. You claim the call out is within the hour and it took your engineer 2.5 hours to come to our property where he inspected the problem and told us he could TRY and fix it but it’s likely to take more work. He said he didn’t have the right equipment i.e a jet wash with him (his brother had it), so he would try the plunger and sucker for a blocked toilet first. This would have cost us £240 per hour every hour with no guarantee of being fixed. You are running a scam and taking advantage of people, you should be ashamed of yourselves. The only thing you have managed to do is create a website which beats all other in SEO and comes up first when searching for a plumber. Using stock imagery on your social media account and website to promote your FAKE business. We have made an official complaint to the FCA.

The most expensive service I've ever seen. I got charged 350£+ for a 5 minute very simple job (10£ material). You can call Cristiano Ronaldo/Lionel Messi to fix your toilet for cheaper.
They charge a call out charge 70£-100£ plus 195£/hour plus 10% service charge plus VAT on top of all of that.

This company is a scam. They will provide poor service, their service will not be certified, and they will overcharge you drastically. Contact a local plumber in your area instead, avoid these. They are criminals and will attempt to charge you multiple times or threaten you for more money.

AVOID! Charged £69 for call out for a leaking outdoor tap which needed a few inches of pipe replacement which took 15-20 minutes. The bill, including VAT came to 532.80. The plumber was friendly but also too pushy and was suggesting other work that needed doing which I declined. I was led by the speed of call out and stupidly didn't look at Trustpilot first. They are banking on the quick call out, but once they are with you, you don't have much choice and they ramp up the fee. And in addition, the plumber would not leave the premises until I had paid via a link sent immediately by the company.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! Charged us £89 for call out which was meant to include explaining what the issue was with our boiler. The so called engineer (looked like a cowboy and had no clue) came out, I showed him our company boiler he looked at it for less than a second and asked for the £89. When I asked what was wrong with it, he said that would be extra! £89 for a 2 second call out! I called the manager who retracted what he originally said, and sent through a recording of our call, not to me as he refused to do so but to the engineer, only he didn't share the second call where I confirmed what the price included. When I refused to pay till we were told what the issue was he threatened me and said the engineer will not leave till he had payment. An absolute cowboy of a company!!!

VERY INTIMIDATING AND AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE OR CALL THE POLICE!

Avoid this company at all cost, they are a rip off, they charged me over 1K for a valve replacement and claimed for 2 hours labor when they only done 1 hour!

Called back to enquire THE NEXT DAY about WHY the boiler has STOPPED WORKING and I was met not only with a Receptionist fobbing me off, but the actual plumbers who called me back were very rude and intimidating

As a single mother, I was terrified and would advise ANYONE (especially if your a single woman, elderly woman or man, or with incapacitated health) to AVOID THESE ROUGUE TRADERS AT ALL COST!

I am seriously considering taking action by filing a report to the Police!

They sent an engineer on a call out charge of £69 and when they arrived to fix a toilet leak, they charged an hourly rate of £295 + VAT and charged 5 hours!!! They took advantage of the fact that I mentioned that insurance was covering the repair (terrible mistake). Ended up with a bill of over £2000! and the company was very intimidating. They ensured that I transferred the payment to them immediately before the plumber, who was a nice chap, could leave. They don't also accept card payments over the phone which did not sit well with me. This company is fraudulent and exploit people in desperate situations. Please do not use this company! you will regret it, they are scammers. I wished I had seen the reviews before contacting them! they do not deserve a single star!

GBSE Plumbers in Malvern is a terrible company - ended up paying £300 for a blocked toilet that took 5 minutes to fix. My own fault for not reading the contract that was emailed :( but they are extremely expensive.

Shockingly bad company. Had a boiler breakdown shortly before the Christmas holiday. Quoted a £69 call-out charge and said they would be there by 11am the next day. Arrived 4 hours late, estimated one hour job at £325 / hour, already outrageous but they were so late I had no other choice but to use them. Presented me with a £1,250 bill for replacing a pump, could have had the job done for 1/4 the price if they had arrived on time and I could have called another company. Management was threatening and rude when I questioned their charges. Left no paperwork or warranty for their work.

DISGUSTING COMPANY.
Needed a leaking radiator valve changed. Also, the drain valve needed changing as it was seized. Took two hours to just change the valve and clean the drain valve.(not changed). £95 call out fee, £229 labour charge per hour, £50 for parts that would only cost £5, admin fee £45.80, plus VAT. Total cost £778.56
Total rip off for what would be one hours work
