Slate Digital ML‑1 with FAULT

I purchased a Slate Digital ML‑1 microphone from Gear4music in December 2024.
From day one, the microphone has had a serious fault, producing constant hiss and intermittent buzzing noise, making it unusable for professional recording.
First return
Shortly after purchase, I returned the microphone under warranty, clearly explaining the problem.
The unit was sent back to me marked as “working correctly”, but the fault was NOT repaired and remained exactly the same.
Clear evidence provided
Since then, I have sent multiple emails including:
Videos clearly demonstrating the noise
Audio files recorded with the microphone showing the fault
Comparison tests with other microphones using the same cables and interface (no noise at all)
The evidence clearly shows that the microphone is defective from origin.
Failed return attempts
I have sent the microphone two additional times via UPS with warranty documentation attached.
In both cases, the shipment was stopped in Coslada (Spain) because the recipient did not accept the delivery, so the microphone was never even inspected or repaired.
Current situation
Purchase date: December 2024
Warranty valid until: December 2026
Current date: 14 April 2026
I have been unable to properly use this microphone for over a year, despite the product being under warranty and despite following all Gear4music instructions.
Overall assessment
The after‑sales service has been extremely poor:
Incorrect initial diagnosis
No solution despite clear technical evidence
Repeated logistics failures
Significant loss of time and professional disruption
I would not recommend buying recording equipment here if you expect effective warranty support.

Tras recibir tu unidad, se han realizado todos los análisis necesarios por parte de varios técnicos especializados. Las pruebas concluyeron que el micrófono no presentaba fallos ni niveles de ruido fuera de lo esperado para este modelo en particular.

Good customer service

My package was a little delayed on shipping. But as soon as I wrote to customer service they took care of it right away, the very next day my package was shipped, very happy with the quality of the baritone too, for the price you just can't get better

It's a cheap guitar but the quality is…

It's a cheap guitar but the quality is remarkable for the price .Plays well and sounds great , been wanting to try P90s for a while and this was the perfect opportunity. Will soon change the strings to 9's , just letting the wood get used to its new climate , this part of Alicante is a bit warmer and more humid even in winter .
Tuners could be a bit better but they hold tune well enough and the general set-up is good - better than I expected .
A good buy for a beginner or as a 2nd guitar .

Great guitar, terrible delivery!!

First of all the Jackson guitar is superb I couldn’t be more pleased, however I’m very unhappy with Gear4music. Delivery was a disaster, quoted 5 days but took 16 days!! The website says you can choose you delivery day, not true in my case. The delivery day quoted was unacceptable so I pushed it back by 1 day, it arrived 4 days later. Orders sent by Dpd in Spain are delivered by Seur, if I had been aware at the time of ordering I would have shopped elsewhere. Seur have a terrible reputation in our area.

Product itself is perfect but delivery…

Product itself is perfect but delivery were outdated for 1.5 months. Despite of fact it was one of the most expensive delivery option parcel was left at drop point and not to address. Terrible experience with gear4music. Do not recommend. Absolutely non reliable.

Exelent!

We ordered a Yamaha piano for our daughter. We received perfectly packaged, in time and everything, including the small chair and the stand for the piano, was in perfect condition.
Really good service!
