Truly Amazing Experience!

Had an absolutely amazing experience when talking with Janice Griffiths in taking the next steps with my transition. They was very friendly, very patient, and I felt very safe and supported and felt I could talk about anything. It felt like a Completely non-judgemental environment, and she was so lovely to talk with. I dont usually leave reviews anywhere but I am very happy, and satisfied having spoken to them, and discussing through everything. 😊

Speedy and thorough treatment.

GenderGP have provided a wonderful service!

Upon signing up, they quickly arranged for me to have an online consultation. Mine was with Meg, who was very thorough in assessing my situation in an affirming and reassuring manner.

Following this, it was arranged for me to start receiving a HRT prescription in the mail, all within a week of my initial signing up!

10/10 would recommend GenderGP to anyone else wishing to transition.

Comfortable, Friendly Session

Janice Griffiths was a delight to talk to. She opened the session by talking to me about Doctor Who (because of the username I had when I logged in), which put me at ease. She was friendly, courteous and I felt very comfortable talking to her.

The warmest welcome

I arranged a session with Gender GP as I wasn’t getting anywhere with the NHS. I didn’t know what to expect and was very nervous however as soon as I joined the call with Megan she put me at ease straight away. I really appreciate the kindness and compassion she showed while I talked about my struggles. I came away from the meeting more confident than ever in my decisions and the journey of medically transitioning I plan to take. I definitely recommend this service.

Amazing!!

James was very thorough with his explanation on how my journey would go, and explained how it will go through GenderGP and how it would play out if I went with the NHS. I've got a clear understanding of the road ahead of me and James Morris was great at showing that to me

Initial meeting to agree transition plan

The google meet with Megan was very professional yet friendly. She asked lots of questions about my past and my future ensuring I was in the right place to move to the next stage of my transition. She answered all my questions and gave me clear guidance on all the options.

I had info gathering session with James…

I had info gathering session with James Morris. It was quick but not too fast, concrete, but caring. He said he is there to listen not to judge and understood me and said that I deserve the treatment. I am very happy.

Expensive lifeline with some immoral practices

GenderGP is a lifeline for trans people, but when you're the sole proprietor you can set the rules and prices yourself with no concern for competition.

Gender GP's partner pharmacy SMARTWAY can be 30% more expensive than other pharmacies.

If you order a fresh prescription following the form, your prescription can be altered and you're liable to pay for it again. This can happen due to admin deciding you need a blood test despite the form allowing you to continue without this important bit of information.

The website doesn't have a functioning log-in/member system.

There is no easy way to contact someone for advice without paying to talk to a doctor, even if your query is administrative in nature. This led to me booking an appointment with the wrong person entirely.

The system is overly automated and lacks a way to speak to a human, especially gauling given the high price of the joining fee and monthly membership.

GenderGP is useful in a pinch but prohibitively expensive and clunky to be a full time solution to gender care.

Very positive and supportive experience

I had my IGS with Megan today. I was a little nervous going into it, but Megan immediately put me at ease and was so easy to talk to. We ran through some questions and Megan listened, was understanding, and entirely supportive. Getting the appointment was quick and easy. Really great experience overall!
