I can provide a bit of clarity on our rates as well, in case you find it interesting. High street lenders are banks who are able to loan out money they already hold, like money from savings accounts. This means their rates can be lower. However, they often don’t lend to people who fall outside the high street mould, like people who need an income booster, or who have complex income, such as self-employed people or part-time workers.
We work a little differently in that we don’t have our own money that we lend out. Instead, we work with particular funders who are willing to help us support a wider group of buyers. As a result, we’re able to offer mortgages to people who can’t get one anywhere else. This is why our mortgages can cost a bit more than the high street. Hopefully the joy of owning your own home makes this worth it to you!
