Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 51 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the customer service, describing it as non-existent, atrocious, and inadequate, leading to significant frustration and a feeling of being unsupported. They frequently encountered issues with product quality, including defective windshields, major malfunctions requiring extensive repairs, and persistent safety concerns that were not properly addressed by the company. Reviewers also highlighted problems with service appointments, long wait times for loaner cars, and a general lack of responsiveness from dealerships and corporate customer care. However, some customers were satisfied with the vehicles themselves, praising their design, features, and performance, even while criticizing the after-sales support. A few other people also felt that certain dealership staff were excellent, knowledgeable, and provided good service, particularly in sales and specific service centers.

The worst "luxury car experience" ever

The worst "luxury car experience" ever. They promise you the moon until the purchase is complete and then they treat you horribly. Constant lies, refusal to do the things they say they will do (in writing!), refuse to honour their warranty. Takes 6-8 weeks to book an oil change. And don't ask them for even a small favour. The car is fine but I will never do business with the company again. Head straight for the German or Japanese luxury brands where they treat you like they actually want repeat customers.

Customer care service and follow-up is…

Customer care service and follow-up is terrible. If you add the ability to make contact with an assigned case management and their following up to resolve issues of concern has been extremely disappointing. 4 months with an issue continues to be in resolve with with chart note noting contact when none was made.

Luther Genesis in Bloomington MN-Would…

Luther Genesis in Bloomington MN-Would give it a zero. Service horrid. Waiting 8 days for front brakes & balance rotate tires. Did such bad job car had to be towed back to dealership. Had car since Friday, still waiting by Tuesday. Zero meaningful communication. Have to harass them just to get a text back. Greasy fingerprints on door, steering wheel & shifter. Do not go there for service. Just don't

Never again

I so wish I had taken the time to read these reviews before purchasing a new GV60 performance for my wife.

My experience thus far is so similar to many of the reviews here. That is car seemed like the right car, salesman promised a superior customer experience, concierge service etc - much like Lexus ( except they do deliver on promise), but car delivered with damaged paint work, some pointed out to Sales Manager when he delivered the car but a lot more discovered when I had the car inspected by my paint treatments guy 3 days later, and the sales manager (WA) doesn't respond so a week later I escalate to their Genesis Customer Care and almost 4 weeks on I have made seemingly no ground. The reviews here indicate the same lack of after sales service / care. But one of the Google reviews also evidences that if you let Genesis try and fix the car they have made the situation worse.

Last I heard was that 1 week ago they would organise a time for car to be inspected by paint shop ( 5 weeks to get to this stage). It seems it takes more than 1 week to check their diary and advise availability.

Never again.

Shameful to say the least!!

My leased 2021Genesis G70 had mechanical issues on 7/5/23. Had to have car towed. Was initially told they could not run a diagnostic test until October! Called another service department and was told August. Customer Care services got involved. Told me to get a rental that they will pay for because dealership did not have a loaner. Upon returning loaner, Genesis Customer care does not want to pay the $1500 rental fee. - I stated to the condescending, antagonist representative Joey that I was considering having Genesis buy out the lease (end of lease is in November. Joey stated that I if they buy back the lease I will not be reimbursed. Meanwhile, I payed the lease for July and got stuck with a $1500 rental bill. I have written a 3 page letter in hopes that Genesis does the right thing, but can't seem to find an address and name to send letter to. The dealership does not have the information either!!! My case was taken to supposedly the highest level at customer service. Joey's behavior was appalling to say the least. I will undoubtedly be contacting a lawyer just on principle. Stay AWAY from Genesis. Don't say you weren't warned.

Albi Genesis of Laval bad experience

Albi Genesis of Laval,

I would undoubtedly rate my Genesis GV70 vehicle 10/10. However, the service I received at your dealership does not match the quality of the vehicle I drive.

From the sales process to the maintenance of my vehicle, your staff's lack of attention and empathy has been striking. A few months after purchasing my vehicle, the sales consultant became unreachable, ignoring my calls and messages.

The scheduling of my service appointments was disastrous. Despite the inflexible service department opening hours, I attempted to coordinate several services simultaneously. I was promised a callback that never came. After five days of waiting, I had to call back myself to get information.

The lack of internal communication became evident when I was informed that no note about my request had been taken. Despite assurances, my tires were not changed during the appointment I had scheduled, resulting in a completely unnecessary 400 km trip.

When issuing my complaint, the responsibility was deflected back to me as if it were up to me, the customer, to ensure requests are correctly passed between your teams.

The service experience director's compensation proposal was frankly inadequate. A $50 check does not compensate for either the cost of gas or the loss of a workday, which, as a self-employed person, represents a significant sum.

Given this level of service, I can't help but question Genesis's positioning as a luxury brand. In hindsight, it would have been preferable to invest an additional $30,000 in a Mercedes, Audi, or BMW, where the customer service matches the luxury image they convey.

Your team's lack of empathy and professionalism is glaring. I hope this experience serves to improve the service offered to future customers at your dealership.

Customer service and case management is…

Customer service and case management is unresponsive. I bought a GV70 and drove off the lot. The rotors immediately started knocking. It was determined they were bad. Instead of replacing with new rotors and brakes they resurfaced the rotors. When attempting to get the brake pads replaced and new rotors we were informed their policy will only allow for the resurfacing and no pad replacement. I attempted to escalate the concern and have been waiting to hear back from Genesis for over a month on a resolution.

"Concierge" service was a huge selling…

"Concierge" service was a huge selling point for me and my salesman kept going on about it but they don't mention that it's a 2-3 month wait and ONLY for repairs & even a loaner is 2 weeks.
Also I kept getting emails saying I was due
For scheduled maintenance so I called the # on the emails and she asked how many miles I had and I told her 5900 and she said
"Oh you're due for your 6000 mile check up" so I take a day off work to drop it off and they tell me I'm not due till 8000 miles. So I said why wouldn't the girl I spoke to have told me that and he just shrugged so I took a day off work for nothing

SUCH INCOMPETENCE AT GENESIS FINANCE

I leased a 2019 Genesis g70 in 2019. I fulfilled the lease agreement and returned the car in April 2022. Nine months later I received an email from G Finance billing me for county property taxes on a leased car. I called GF on 01/31/23 and hung up after being kept on hold for 25 minutes. I called back and this person said I owed taxes for a different amount than what my email stated. So I asked for a supervisor who told me the difference was additional taxes due so I asked why I haven’t I received an additional email and he had no answer. I then asked to be transferred to the USA. I asked for the supervisor who only provided her first name. She refused to provide her employee ID. She now states that a tax affidavit was received for 2019, 2020 but not for 2021 and 2022. She said it was my responsibility to make sure the dealership sends GF this form every year. I had no idea this was even necessary or that it had been forwarded for me. Now I’m waiting on the dealership to send ME the form so I can send it myself to GF. What a crazy world all because of the dealership’s (Bob Stallings Hydunai) finance manager failed to do her job. Such unnecessary stress and anxiety!!!

LEASED GENESIS VEHICLES LOST DUE TO IAN

LEASED VEHICLES LOST DUE TO IAN: Leased a 2023 Genesis G70 in July 2022. Put $10k down and made 4 $600 payments before Ian hit and totalled it. So I had $12,400 in it (minus interest). Car had 1,286 miles on it when it was towed away forever (insert tears here....LOVED the car). Allstate made what I considered a very generous settlement to the lessor HYUNDAI/GENESIS FINANCE Co. So I felt very comfortable repeating the deal with a replacement, new 2023 Genesis G70. Put another +$10k down on the replacement vehicle, once again through Hyundai/Genesis Finance. Took delivery. Fast forward to the final settlement on the original vehicle. HYUNDAI /GENESIS took the generous settlement from Allstate AS WELL AS ALL THE EQUITY. Referred me to the paragraph in the lease that entitles them to not only the ACV (actual cash value) awarded by the insurance company, AS WELL AS ANY/ALL additional money included in that figure! So they have been grossly overpaid for this car. REFUSED to acknowledge that I was a repeat customer and had already signed a second lease (with healthy downpayment again) for the replacement vehicle. Local dealership Ft. Myers Genesis was astounded (I was the first lease the new dealership had written since they acquired the dealership mid-June 2022). I worked the chain of command with the most uncooperative, cold supervisors at Hyundai/Genesis Finance, as well as wrote a letter to the COO of Genesis North America pleading my case. CRICKETS! NADA! NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER. So...I'm an idiot because I didn't read the lease before I signed it. I'm an idiot again because in my haste to get a car, I didn't read the lease again (remember, I leased the replacement vehicle in good faith that I would be receiving back my equity)....HOWEVER...This is nothing short of thievery and bad business. PLEASE if you have any sort of vehicle lease with any leasing company, please take the time to thoroughly read the lease before you sign it! As much as I love the car, I will NEVER do business with Genesis again!
