I am reporting Genome (Maneuver LT, UAB) for a gross violation of EU payment regulations.
On February 4th, I received an email notice about massive new fees (20 EUR/month) effective from February 14th. This is only a 10-day notice period.
According to Article 54 of the EU Directive 2015/2366 (PSD2), payment service providers MUST provide at least 2 months (60 days) notice before any changes to fees. Genome is deliberately ignoring EU law to grab money from customers' accounts.
Look at Revolut or Wise — they actually respect their customers and follow the 60-day notice rule. They don't pull "surprise" charges overnight.
I have officially filed a complaint with the Bank of Lithuania (Lietuvos bankas) and the European Consumer Centre (ECC Net). To all affected users: don't let them get away with this. Report them to the regulator at lb.lt.
Proof of violation Email notice dated Feb 4, 2026. Fee charged March 1, 2026.

Money that come there get blocked and nearly no feedback at all! Finally released the money after a week more or less. The feedback was something like you will wait the time we want so - like it or not.

I haven't received confirmation codes by email for two days now. Support says they're doing everything they can. You guys are a high-tech bank, and you can't fix the email code delivery in two days? A courier would get there faster.

The card is essentially unusable. Transactions keep getting declined, and there is no real way to use it as a normal payment card. It brings zero practical value.
On top of that, trying to get the $10 card fee refunded has been an exhausting and frustrating process. Endless back-and-forth emails, additional checks, and no clear resolution. The process feels unnecessarily complicated and discouraging. In the end, the $10 was never returned.
Overall, this service creates more problems than it solves. Very disappointing experience.

The financial institution Genome has a disastrous, disastrous attitude towards its clients. Personally, I have had KYC continuously since I opened my Sepa account with them. What bothers me is that they ask completely private questions that have nothing to do with the financial transactions between me and them. They do not read the complete messages you send them. They do not understand that if you are a director and owner and if you have an expense, such as driving your own vehicle, and you do not claim this money from the company, that this is not money laundering, but a travel expense, for which I have sent them 3 x documentation and there is still no understanding... In short, their attitude towards their clients is disastrous, which is also visible in the rating itself. I know that they will write now that they have strict rules and that they work according to the law. Which of course is not true, of course it is correct that you work according to the law, but do not exceed the law. Today it is really not difficult to check whether a person is really a director, owner of a company. Is it possible to be a procurator and similar information. So if the data is true, you as a financial institution cannot claim that this is not true and reject the application.
I still have some time and I can continue, because there is a lot on the business front.
So, as a service provider, I believe that their task is to check the data on individual companies, who the owner is, I handed them a huge amount of documents that I received from the notary at the time of opening. If I wanted to meet all their criteria, I could sit at the computer all day and answer their requests. Probably even a physical bank in their country does not set such conditions as they do. I know from my own experience that on the European market, most banks demand the same (Slovenia, Germany, Croatia, Slovakia). After all, we are also their valuable customers, which we should be aware of, and an unfriendly attitude towards a customer goes much further than a friendly one.
I suggest caution in business, I believe that the institution is not suitable for serious business. Sebastjan.
PS.
Their response is exactly as I expected, no gibberish, copy past, they Not read what someone writes to them... Proof that my post is completely true.

I want to warn everyone about the '15-day trap' Genome uses. After I passed verification, they didn't charge me immediately. Instead, they waited for the 14-day legal withdrawal period (cooling-off period) to expire.
Only after the deadline passed did the 20 EUR monthly fee appear as a debt. When I immediately contacted support to close the account and waive the fee for a service I never used, they cynically replied that it's 'too late' because 15 days had passed.
This is a deliberate and predatory tactic: stay silent for 14 days, then hit the user with an exorbitant fee when they can no longer legally withdraw from the contract. For a personal wallet, 20 EUR/month is insane. They are not providing a service; they are trapping users into debt.
Stay away from Genome. They prioritize legal loopholes over transparency and customer respect. There are much better alternatives like Wise or Revolut that don't use such dirty tricks.

I have used the wallet for several months and I am very thankful for very prompt support in real time, truly fast SEPA instant modality and what is really cool - visa debit card with visa OCT option. Very simple and user friendly app as well as web version. However, a bit high for my case a monthly fee.

When I first started using Genome, everything was great. Payments were processed perfectly, and sending money worked flawlessly. However, I eventually discovered that they charge a maintenance fee, and their currency conversion fee can be as high as 3%. This is the highest fee out of all the banks I have used.
The main problem is their AML and Compliance team. They regularly ask for documents and repeat questions they have already asked before. It feels like an excessive administrative burden. Furthermore, the bank asks for details that seem unnecessary, such as specific details on how the business is run or personal income agreements.
Even after sending documents proving that my tax situation is clear, the conversation continues endlessly. I have never encountered a process like this at any other bank. The high fees combined with the difficult compliance process make the worst experience I've had with banks in my life.
A lot of hidden fees, like auto exchange when you do a p2p transaction, with 2% exchange fee. You can link all currencies to your virtual card, but inbound transactions will always be converted to EUR with a fee.

Refused to comply with GDPR, despite 4 requests.
I signed up due to false claims of being able to open merchant accounts on their site and started receiving unwanted communications.
I was never even able to open up my account, because they are incapable of sending verification emails apparently.
When speaking to support about not wanting to hear from them, they refused to confirm whether I had been removed from their marketing list or not. I got the answer that they cannot remove my data, because they are a financial institution. Never asked for that, just asked for them to remove me from re-activation campaigns and marketing lists.
The exchange ended with Une from the support team telling me that they will be letting me know in 30 days whether my data will be deleted or not.

Genome continues to impress with their professionalism and forward-thinking approach to digital banking. Their customer support is outstanding — responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to helping clients resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
What really sets them apart is their consistency and innovation. While many banks struggle to keep up with modern expectations, Genome is already steps ahead — offering seamless functionality, transparent processes, and a user experience that feels truly built for the future.
In a landscape full of outdated systems and slow responses, Genome stands out as a reliable, forward-looking partner for both personal and business needs.
Highly recommended to anyone who values excellent support, reliability, and modern financial solutions.

Do not recommend to anyone - 2 weeks of opening account while they asked me to send them information about random unknown to me people , and blamed me that I do not sent it to them. Support was absolutely useless. It was the most stupid situation I ever had. Now I tried to top up my account - it is already a week of INSTANT PAYMENT I did not received because first they just do not ask anything, I wrote to support myself - send them my receipt, but they said it is useless , because I need to wait 1-3 days for REQUEST of information, now I got request - and need to wait for some one to check that I send money from me to me.. Stupid and idiotic situation
Everything is good. I like the app. While it's free (no monthly paid) everything is very convenient.
Great mobile app and website. In general, it is easy to navigate.
I would suggest adding some more details on commissions. It is very strange and counterintuitive that payment returns are counted into the inbound limit...
