Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 48 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people felt misled, believing they were supporting a Canadian company selling local products, only to discover items were shipped from China. Customers consistently received products of extremely poor quality, often described as cheap, garbage, or not matching descriptions and images. The website was criticized for displaying incorrect information and misrepresenting product appearance. The return process was a major source of frustration, frequently requiring customers to ship items back to China at their own significant expense. Many experienced long waits for products, received only partial orders, or found that sizing was inaccurate, rendering items unwearable. The cost of returning items was often nearly the full price, leaving consumers stuck with unusable goods.

Not a Canadian company

Not a Canadian company. Made in & ships from China. No relationship that I can find that links it to Georgian Bay. No indication of fabric or care instructions on the order form. Received an acrylic polyester sweater. Receiving many offers of sale & discounts. Plus a warm thanks from Maggie the founder of a local company. Fool me once!

Georgian Bay Boutique is fraudulent

Georgian Bay Boutique advertises itself as a small family-run shop in Ontario. The website shows a cute storefront which does not exist. The company is in China. The sweaters are advertised as handmade, with several lovely photos of beautiful colour combinations.
I wish I had discovered these reviews before I ordered one sweater. The sweater arrived after a few weeks. It is not the colour combination I ordered based on the photos. It is clearly factory-made and of poor quality yarn. The sleeves on the medium are 3” too short. I wear a standard medium but the sleeves are much too short.
I was offered a 20% refund to keep the sweater. After my first letter it went to 25%. This is so I don’t have the hassle of returning the sweater at my expense - to China.
I have been told to put a lower price on the package if I return it so it won’t be held up at customs.

This company is a fraudulent scam and has no business advertising falsely and selling such shoddy merchandise purported to be handmade by a small Georgian Bay company.

I would rate it in the negatives if the rating scale allowed that.

They say they are Canadian from…

They say they are Canadian from Georgian Bay but I call BS. Their products are from China terrible quality not as pictured or described on website. Horrible customer service if you want to do a refund prepare for numerous offers from them. You have to ship items back the China at your own expense. They try everything they can to make it hard. No where does their site say anything about products coming from China. I thought I was supporting a local business from my county in Canada. I would give them a -10 if I could on all accounts

I received my 3 sweaters today after 12 days of waiting! Not impressed. The one sweater was advertised at retail value of $200.00 on sale for $50. Found in online at Temu of $7.00. All sweaters are trash.
The company stated is it a Canadian company selling Canadian clothes but the sweaters I got said they are made in China. Very unsatisfied and people should made aware that this company is a scam!

First of all I wanted to cry when I…

First of all I wanted to cry when I received my order that I paid good money for ! I thought I was supporting a Canadian based company until I saw my package was on an international flight ! I called them on this and for using Canada in the store ad ! We apologize for any confusion. Our mention of Canada is for lifestyle and branding purposes only, and we fully respect and comply with all local rules and regulations.

Warm regards,
Wilson

Georgian Bay Boutique
Was what the responded with ! Tags on the clothing are very misleading one says it’s 95 percent polyester 5 percent elastane then says 100 percent cotton ! Please don’t give these people any money I will be returning to the Chinese address provided even if it cost me half of what I spent just to make them refund me ! They did offer first 20 percent off them 25 percent off then 30 percent off , but that not enough back on what I spent .

It looked and advertised that I was …getting a sweater, NOT true

It looked and advertised that I was buying a sweater from a Canadian Store. Unfortunately, what I received looks like something from Temu , cheap polyster top that I paid $69.00 for.
Unfortunately, this has put a bad taste on ordering from not mainstream stores.
I would give this a Zero star if i could. I did email the "company" saying that I was not impressed.

Absolutely appalled that this company…

Absolutely appalled that this company is scamming online shoppers into thinking it is a 25-year-old Canadian company selling quality, made-in-Canada clothing. As other reviewers have stated, it is the furthest thing from that. NO storefront, NO tags on the clothes to know what they are made from or how to wash them, NO viable return policy, made-in-China/Asia quality at boutique prices. All we can do is hope others check review sites such as Trustpilot first!! I became suspicious when I saw my order "headed to international airport"; obviously NOT being sent from within Canada.

I would give zero stars if I could

I would give zero stars if I could. Fake store. Not in Georgian Bay--in Asia. The 2 sweaters I purchased are absolute garbage. NOTHING like the fake AI photos they use in their website. I complained and they will only offer 25% refund. They are a complete SCAM. BUYER BEWARE!

BEWARE!! NOT A CANADIAN "STORE". NO PHYSICAL STORE

BEWARE!!! NOT A CANADIAN company!!! One star is much too high, but as previous customers stated, there is no Zero rating!
False advertising, misleading and fraudulent information!
The "company" is located in St. Martin, tax free Dutch Island. The horrible products are made in China, the cheapest possible fabric.
What I ordered, and what I received (only partial order arrived, the fist one is still traveling somewhere around the world!!!), is absolute garbage! It is a shame even to put it in a "second hand" bag.
This kind of openly scamming people through the media should be a criminal offence! Through this type of sales, the landfills are over-flowing with the non-recyclable, possibly toxic junk!
LADIES!!! As they say, if it seems too good to be true, IT IS too good to be true!!! Let's try to stop this!!!!

I would give them a zero if I could

I would give them a zero if I could. Absolute garbage. Completely cheap and useless product. Nothing like as pictured (pictures are AI, including their fake family and storefront picture). I ordered two items - a green knit sweater they is paper thin and mottled green. It doesn’t even have a tag to indicate what material it’s made of and care instructions, which is required in Canada. The other item was also cheap material and together, not worth $30 of the $170 I spent. Zero progress with their “customer service”. Their email about returning the items suggests that you devalue the items on the customs documentation to avoid having the item hung up in Chinese customs, which is illegal. Wow. Can’t get a refund. Beware!

If I could give this a zero I would

If I could give this a zero I would. I thought I was purchasing from a Canadian company. I really don’t think it is. When I originally tracked the package, it had gone through different ports, which made absolutely no sense since I live in Canada. There is no Collingwood, Ontario store unlike what the website would have you believe. When I got the product, they were very cheaply made and in cello wrap. Not worth nearly what I paid and I will never wear them. I putting them directly in my second hand store pile.

Not a Canadian store

This store claims the clothing they sell reflects Georgian Bay living. The clothes look & are described as cozy and comfortable, but my guess is they are all made of recycled plastics. Despite the online appearance of a Canadian store, this is not a Canadian store. I initiated a return & the return address is in China. The return was at my cost ( as described on their website) but I had assumed it would be a return within Canada. Because of the cost of shipping to China, I accepted a partial refund instead & I will be giving the items away. I expected that I was buying Canadian boutique quality items - I would not walk the dog in the items I paid too much for. I hope this reviews prevents others from wasting hard earned dollars.

By making the proper sizes

By making the proper sizes . They sent a 2 x and definitely not a size 2x. You can barely get your head through. The body is not a 2x. My small 13 yr old granddaughter can barely get her head through. I have been ordering size 2x for a very long time. Be ware

What I ordered and what I received were…

What I ordered and what I received were clearly not the same. Very poor quality, and the sweaters looked nothing the same. Company made it extremely difficult to return and instead offered me a 20% refund. Fraudulently advertised that they were a Canadian owned company, when it is actually based out of Asia. Total scam!

This company is very misleading. They are an online store and that physical store does not exist. Their website misleads that it’s a local business with local suppliers. Items are not clear on where they are made. All returns must be returned at customers expense to the manufacturer. China in our case. Cost over $100 to return items that did not arrive in time and were of poor quality. Beware!!!!

A warning to all

A warning to all. This is a scam. Their website claims over 7000 reviews on Trustpilot and “12000 happy customers” that can’t be seen on the site.Trustpilot website identifies this scammer with a low score and reviews are terrible. They claim to be a 25 year old company but doesn’t provide any information as to where they are located(they aren’t by the bay). What retailer doesn’t provide an address, phone number, store hours? This is a scam!
