While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Charged after cancellation, policy not in the Terms they gave me

I used Hush for about a month before deciding to cancel. I submitted my cancellation request on May 28, before my June 4 renewal date. Despite that, I was charged a prorated fee covering June 4–28, based on a “30-day notice requirement.”

The problem is that policy doesn’t appear anywhere in the Terms of Use I agreed to at enrollment. The only cancellation language in those Terms says you can cancel “at any time” by contacting support, no notice period mentioned.

When I raised this, customer service confirmed the charge and declined to refund it, without being able to point me to the specific Terms provision that establishes the policy.

The service itself worked fine. But if you’re considering signing up, read the Terms carefully before enrolling, screenshot everything at signup, and be aware that canceling may not be as straightforward as “cancel anytime” suggests.

Currently disputing through my card issuer.

Predatory membership practice

Predatory membership practice. They do not offer an option to cancel your membership on their website. They will not respond to messages through their website to cancel. They intentionally try to trap you into a membership with no ability to cancel and notice periods that they do not make you aware of. Their service does not do what they claim - this is clearly a scam.
