Limited withdrawal options.

I've had great service and communication from Penfold but unfortunately they have fallen at the last hurdle. I want my pension paid into my WISE bank account, which has a UK address, bank account number and sort code but they won't pay into a WISE bank account???
So unfortunately all the good work in the past has been for nothing. So at the moment l'm in the process of arranging a transfer to another pension company who will happily pay my pension into my WISE account.

Terrible transfer-out experience

I was with Penfold for over a year, the website application is fairly intuitive but eventually decided to transfer out.

The transfer experience was very bad. I made my transfer out application in late October 2025 and it didn't complete until late February 2026. After hearing nothing for over a month, I contacted them in early-mid December to ask on the status. They told me they required me to fill out an additional form because I was transferring to AJ Bell Dodl who apparently needed further checks because they weren't someone they transferred to frequently. I was pretty surprised considering how big AJ Bell are. The delay wasn't on AJ Bell Dodl's side.

So instead of proactively asking me to fill out the forms, I had to chase up on them myself which was disappointing. After filling out additional forms, they went silent again and I had to chase up several more times just to get the transfer out completed.

4 months to transfer out a pension is crazy considering it wasn't in-specie and simply required them to sell funds on their side and transfer cash across.

Very easy to deal with and helped bring…

Very easy to deal with and helped bring multiple pensions into one pot. Their investments are doing well and performing. Most things can be done via the app such as increase my workplace contributions.

You can't easily choose your investments, but their customer service is second to none. Very personal and personable.

They do get a reasonable rate of return, would like more choice in investment strategy.
