Sadly, not the great platform it once was

Glassdoor used to be a great platform for job hunters to get a glimpse into the real culture/values of organisations who all claim to be great places to work. It was easy to determine the genuine from the fake ("Hey employees - please all go onto Glassdoor and give us great reviews!"), and to spot positive and negative common themes.
Unfortunately, this is no longer the case and I'm hearing more and more instances of people's honest reviews being removed if they include anything negative at all. They seem now to only allow vanilla reviews that might only hint at things not being great.
In addition to this, users now need to contact Glassdoor to change their employment status or employer name (which is rubbish for professional contractors who move frequently) and have introduced a strange community feature as their key purpose. Glassdoor used to have the best job search function but it's now useless, throwing up all sorts of random jobs that don't match any of the search criteria.

Lame

Only wanted to read 1 review of a company i used to work for.
3 words into the review and get bombarded with loads of s**t i have no interest in at all.
How can you show reviews of companies when you clearly need to get your own house in order.
I hope this review is useful.

Dont waste any of your precious time visiting "assdoor" shambles of a website.

I would rather p**s in my eyes.

Good day.

Tescos Incompetent Careers Department

Tescos, I had an interview on 21st November 2024, at Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire on the Pharmacy counter. I checked my emails at 10.30ish to check again the details. I noticed another email which informed me that I had been unsuccessful in my interview and feedback was available. I immediately emailed as I was very concerned, stating I had an interview in a few hours and also could I have feedback.
I found the telephone number of the recruiter called. They stated that I had not been successful in my interview, so I asked for feedback, eventually coming back to me that the wrong email had been sent, hence couldn't give me feedback.
I was furious, this interview had been arranged 8 days previously, there was no phone call as it was on the day and I was lucky I saw the email.
1. The staff are obviously to me lazy, just sending out an automated email.
2. Assuming not checking about the candidate they were emailing.
3. As it was on the day, the correct procedure would be to call the candidate and explain, not leaving it for the candidate to call them.
4. Customer service in the careers department obviously is non existence.
5. Hence what does it say about customer service to prospective staff and staff already employed. Yet customer service is meant to be a top priority.
6. I have found the whole experience totally disrespectful, upsetting as if I has received a call discussing the situation, I would not have been as upset as I am, as I feel I have done their job.
7. If I had not got the position because I had failed the interview, I would have applied for other posts at Tescos.
8. Speaking about my experience to someone in the same area, who was disgusted by their behaviour and recommended this site.
9. The people I spoke to where apologetic, but it was too little to late.
10. I feel better having done this so thank you Glass door.

Buggy and bias

Besides bowing to pressure from companies to remove negative but truthful reviews, the site itself is flawed. Repeatedly experience issues with logging in. It’s buggy as hell. Reported several times and told their engineers are aware and they’re trying to resolve. Doesn’t matter what browser, network or device. Even registered new account and still same issues.

Glassdoor should be shut down!

Glassdoor operates as a one-sided platform that lacks effective management and should be re-evaluated. When an employee is dismissed due to performance issues, it’s understandable that their feedback might not reflect a positive experience. Unfortunately, if someone holds a grudge and has the time, they can post multiple negative reviews, skewing perceptions unfairly. Even when issues are reported, Glassdoor’s response consists of generic emails that don’t provide any meaningful support or resolution, making it frustrating and unhelpful for companies trying to address unfair or inaccurate reviews.

Untrusted source for employees

Untrusted source for employees. First by being asked to disclose my role and year of employment, knowing my role is the only one in the company, is then easier to be identified internally for leaving a bad review. How can I leave a review anonomous without the company knowing it was me?

Our Management constantly leaves 2 positive feedbacks for every negative one. How can one trust glassdoor when is intended to protect the company and to expose the employee who exposes the company.

The joining process is complete bullsh1t

The joining process is complete bullsh1t - I have to leave a company review to use the site. I was about to just post a random bs review about a random company, but that makes me think there are probably so many other people like me who have done the same, meaning that using the site is pointless because it is flooded with fake reviews.

I came to Trustpilot to share my disgust at the process of joining Glassdoor. However, I see from the 93% 1-Star reviews that my main mistake was not coming here first!

Glassdoor is utterly disingenuous in its advertising. One cannot view ANY information without first posting a review of an employer or similar. My Son is in College as has no review to post. So the only way he can access a potential employer is to create a fake review.

This UTTERLY rips Glassdoor credibility to shreds as how many other tens on thousands of unemployed, students or first-time job seekers are being forced into the same situation.

For a first-time job-seeker this is 100% useless and simply gather personal information which will be used for whatever the Company choses. I am sure they have a published T&C document but I have yet to meet another human being who reads these whilst trying to sign-up for a service.

I daresay there maybe some value to those in employment but Glassdoor really ought to make it clear from the get go that this is hopeless for 1st time jobseekers.

Remove genuine reviews due to pressure from companies!

I’m extremely disappointed to discover that Glassdoor removes genuine reviews due to pressure from companies. It’s frustrating to see honest feedback being deleted, which defeats the whole purpose of the platform. This kind of behavior undermines trust, and I no longer feel confident in relying on Glassdoor for truthful insights. I won’t be using or trusting this platform anymore.
