I filed Amex claim for flight baggage delays for over 12 days and submitted all documents with details and got all documents okayed but this company refused the same saying inbound travel delay of bag

Globale Excel has staff which is incompetent to understand the legal provisions and outrightly rejecting claims this creats a mistrust between the customer and the company. If you want the disreputation to decrease find such rejection claims and see who is the offender.

Never get a TD travel credit card

I will never, nerver for the life of me consider a TD card or TD Bank service in my life again. Global Excel is certainly the worse company that exists and will do everything to deny your claim even though you have all the documentation. They will kill your willpower by dragging the claims and asking more and more documents. Can't wait for this to finish and cancel all my TD services!

Too difficult to manage claim while sick

Difficulty getting approved over the phone when I can barely talk. Way too complicated. Way too many forms. Had to pay the hospital out of pocket. Ended up abandoning my claim. Manulife should get a different administrator

Glorified way of Fraud

I am shocked with the denied claim I took travel insurance from Dec 18, 2025, to Jan 8, 2026. I left Canada Dec 17 at night. I was admitted to the hospital on January 1, 2026. My policy was active bu they declined stating my policy was not active on the day of departure. I filed for review. This is so unfair. Even you can take travel insurance after landing not covered for 72 hours. This is fraud.

Denial of Emergency Medical Services Scheme

GEM is now running an apparent profit driven scheme that requires customers to wait up to 1–5 business days for coverage verification before approving direct billing or payment guarantees for out-of-country medical care. In practice, this policy effectively denies immediate access to emergency medical services, including in life-threatening situations, where delays are medically unacceptable. Requiring advance verification under these circumstances creates a foreseeable risk of serious harm and possible fatalities. There is a special place in hell for those responsible for this degree of greed and corruption, and there should be jail terms for them as well.

AVOID at all costs!

If I could give ZERO stars, I would! We have a travel trip interruption claim that has been denied repeatedly by them. What makes me most angry is that I called them prior to my trip to ask if a scenario like this would be covered by our trip interruption and they told me yes it would. Unfortunately the scenario we asked about actually happened and now they are denying the claim.
We were on a cruise and booked a tour with an independent tour operator at one of our stops. Due to storm ‘Amy’ the port was cancelled. Since we had spoke to someone at the insurance company and asked if a port is cancelled and we have a tour booked would our plan cover the non refundable costs. They told me yes it would. So we went ahead and booked the non refundable tour before leaving on our trip.
Now they won’t pay and even after appealing, they continue to deny the claim. We even gave them the dates of the phone calls when we called to ask those questions because they record all calls…. they denied anyways. Then they tried to say that we didn’t pay for at least 75% of the trip on our Scotia Passport Visa Infinite card when we in fact paid 100% of the trip on the card and proved it to them with receipts and credit card statements.
This company is abhorrent. You are best to avoid them.

Disorganized, repetitive, and unfair claims process

My claim experience with Global Excel was terrible. They constantly requested the same documents again and again, even after I provided them with full explanations and clear highlights showing every charge. They never explained what was supposedly missing, only that “more documentation” was required.

After all that, they denied my claim saying that at least 75% of the original trip must be charged to the card, when in fact 100% was, which I proved multiple times. The entire process felt dismissive and unprofessional.

I’ve since cancelled my TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege card and moved to American Express, where reviews suggest a far more consumer-friendly insurance partner. Global Excel’s process is slow, repetitive, and opaque.

GlobalExcel works very hard to find a way not to help you

At the beginning of the year, I had to travel to the USA. On the way back, I faced many problems with different airlines. My last flight was with Air Transat. Because of all the bad luck I had experienced, I decided to purchase flight insurance from Global Excel. It was quite expensive compared to what I had paid for an Air Canada flight.

Unfortunately, I missed my Air Transat flight due to the poor management of my connecting flight. I filed a claim with the insurance company. The process was extremely frustrating: collecting all the required documents took forever. I spent hours preparing flight plans, proof of missed flights, proof of purchase, and I kept sending document after document.
Since I had originally bought a ticket from Florida to Montreal, and then had to purchase another one after missing my flight, I explained that if my claim were unfounded, I would not have paid for two tickets to the same destination at the same time.
However, the company kept making the process difficult. Each time they found an issue, I provided additional proof, and that went on and on, but when all the gaps were filled, they found new reasons to reject my claim. I really felt they never had any intention whatsoever to help me. In the end, they refused to help me, despite the fact that my claim was completely valid.
Honestly, this was the most frustrating experience I have ever had with an insurance company. I hope my story saves others money and stress. Avoid this company at all costs!
