I really enjoyed the banya in hoxton. The atmosphere was great and everything was well organized. However, it was a bit too hot and humid for my taste. Overall, I would give it four out of five stars. Master Alexey was excellent and very professional.

Fantastic place with a great atmosphere . I highly recommended.

I went to boxing day with a friend, Hoxton is my favourite, the 4-hand perenie was a great experience, we managed to stay in the sauna until the end, with the fan and garlic experience.... the best!

Previously we were clients at Banya Nr 1 Hoxton and loved their private room called Taiga (private changing rooms, toilets, showers, lounge). Couple of years ago we started receiving emails that they have opened new branch in Chiswick with SAME facilities, so I was quite exited to try it, as I was expecting same quality. So we booked private experience , room called Karelia. When we arrived we realised it’s a booth not even a room (or lounge how they call it), basically no privacy at all. Shocking scam! They told me: well our website says it’s private lounge so it’s basically my fault I don’t read and they are not part of Banya Hoxton. Which is SUPER confusing as they even share same email. (I have email they sent me as a Hoxton sister venue to prove this is mis-selling) The most annoying part were that I have called before and said I will bring my baby, and no one told me it is not a private room, I was trying to understand size of the room and keep on referring to Taiga in Hoxton and person said yes it’s similar but smaller! Which is a flat out lie!
They refused to refund us any money, so we were forced stay and get treatments. Well it’s another story. Everything so cramped, I found only 1 toilet (even tho they claim they have 3). I was forced to have a male masseuse, no one asked me if this is ok, and it wasn’t, I felt very uncomfortable! Sauna is very small so you are always part of someone’s treatment. Little shower area, right in front of everyone. I couldn’t even take proper shower without my swimsuit. Horrendous experience! So now they owe us £180 which they don’t want to refund and offer a credit to spend in this horrible place where I will never go back! I consider this a proper scamming, misleading and stealing.

Banya No. 1 is always on my must hit list when I come to London. It is one of the best relaxation or social experiences going. The paernie massage from German is fantastic and I always let him guide me with tea, beers, snacks, resting, etc. The facility is spotless and clean - the sauna smells amazing and is one of my favourites. The staff is knowledgable and friendly and respectful of personal time and boundaries. I cannot say enough how much I love visiting and have refered so many friends to the experience. See you in the plunge pool!!

If there is one thing I can recommend, it is the honey and coffee scrub. Worth every penny.

Went their ad hoc as a bit of a surprise, was trated like a king and felt like one, once we had left...
Alex, is a gentleman and the other staff are great too....

Never had anything like this before, it was very relaxing and very very refreshing

Clean, nice, lovely staff, couldn't be better. All the treatments are wonderful!

Welcoming staff take the time to explain what to do and point you in the right direction for the searingly hot steam room. Back out and into a freezing plunge pool and then onto dark green leather banquettes to rest, read and take tea. Slightly formal and beautifully functional, it feels like Westminster reimagined by a hedonist. Back into the steam room then onto a pristine marble slab for a surprisingly rejuvenating massage with oak branches and no nonsense scrub down. Extremely professional, very stylish and relaxing - it felt like the real deal.

Banya was a very different experience for me, that is for sure! I did enjoy it though.
I was invited to try it with my Russian colleagues so I thought I would give it a try as I didn't get to try it during my Moscow visit this year.
At first it seemed rough what with us having to jump into icy cold water and being beaten with venik in the heat of the parilka (Russian steam room).
But hey - shot of vodka, another go, and I feel like just have been born, plus it definitely was a lot of fun!
Staff are super friendly and made it a great experience for me that I would certainly recommend to anybody. You might get hooked.

This place is excellent if you are after authentic Russian banya experience or if you want to discover a little more extreme SPA than your ordinary sauna or hammam. :)
The place is very clean and is impeccable.
Banshik German was very hospitable and very friendly, made me and my friend feel welcomed and relaxed.
Great banya with fantastic steam and all facilities are in great condition which makes it a very pleasant environment to chill out at.
The only thing I'd say is that their website gives slightly incorrect prices so instead of advised £7 for an Oak venik I paid £10.
Also it's a bit on the expensive side but I guess they can get away with it being the only authentic banya in London so a visit to banya is like a treat to yourself.
Other than that I've had a great time there and would definitely recommend it to anyone, you will not be disappointed!

Not to rave for too long. This is an amazing experience, which leaves your skin moisturised and feeling younger!! Parenie is a must for anyone who is unsure. Am a regular and will continue to come.

I love going to Banya, always feel so much better afterwards. It helps me to alleviate stress and muscle aches, helps with my sore back and generally aids well-being. Although banya on its own is good, I would suggest to add a scub or a massage as well, as it is truly a cherry on top of a cake.
