I do not trust them and really don't want malware...
I was not looking for whatever was just downloaded to my computer. I thought I had typed in "geocaching.com" not "goecaching.com". Instead of a homescreen, it sent me to a completely different website where I was greeted by a security check screen, which was just clicking a couple of circles, which I can understand helps with bot detection by tracking the cursor, but still feels weird that they didn't just use a captcha. Immediately after passing the knockoff captcha, I file was downloaded onto my computer through my browser halfway through a loading screen. After the file was downloaded, the loading screen stopped and asked me to retry, but it never actually completed, and I am fairly certain that there wasn't anything else on that website. I cant find anything about "goecaching" or even "go ecaching" even though I am pretty sure that ecaching is a real thing. The file was titled "stealthguard" and from what I can find on the web, this is not the only website that does this. there are apparently many websites that if you don't spell the URL right, they lead to you downloading this same file, but a version that contains malware. I immediately deleted the file, emptied my trash, and nothing bad has happened yet, so I don't think that it was on long enough to do any real harm, but I am still being careful. There were many popups trying to get me to use the file to install an app, but I didn't, so i think I am ok for now, but I do NOT trust this very clearly malware downloading website, and I will doublecheck the URLs I use.
