Just got charged for an annual membership that I don’t use because I did not find the lessons useful. Current best practice is to advise when an annual membership is about to be billed. Or to agree... See more

Useless!!
Useless, don’t waste your money. Unsubscribe button doesn’t work so forced to pay for a year upfront, therefore don’t be fooled by a ‘free month’s trial’. Content poor and episodes missing.
Forced to pay for a year of something I didn’t want
I am sure I unsubscribed but like others in the comments it didn’t seem to work.
The “course” was nothing more than a few paragraphs a week which I could have got many places for free
Do your self a favour and type the class you are interested in into youtube
Garbage
Garbage. These “classes” are basically just curated newspaper clippings. To add insult to injury, the unsubscribe button apparently doesn’t work. I unsubscribed before my trial was over, but they’re telling me they didn’t see it. To make it even worse, they charged me before my trial was even over and now they won’t refund the money.
It’s a crappy product and the people are unethical.
Quite useless
Quite useless. Careful, the unsuscribe button doesn't work properly. I was bound to pay for the second year, even though it was a technical issue.
Not worth 2 dollars
Not worth the money. The quality of the courses are uneven (some just plain terrible -- but some decent). Platform itself is out of date and not user friendly -- not much effort is put into designing a platform that meets the user needs. One can't choose 10 courses in advance or set up a profile with favorites. No app. Website is glitchy. In general it seems it was designed 10 years ago, not updated and they focus all efforts now into locking unsuspecting customers into year-long memberships and no effort whatsoever into providing quality courses or platform services for the actual members. Do not subscribe!
Highbrow is a simple and easy to use…
Highbrow is a simple and easy to use platform containing hundred of 10 day courses. I love the courses because it is easy to learn from them and it does not take more than 5-10 minutes from my day. Another great thing is that they are like a fuel - they give you a solid basis so you can whether decide to continue or not in improving yourself. Thank team!
Business model based on trapping you...
I wasn't crazy about the format of the program. Would you rather have to read a tiny morsel of information every day or just take 20 minutes to learn something?
The big problem though is that they don't allow refunds if you get past the 30 day trial period. I accidentally let the 30 day trial period lapse so they sent me an email saying the were charging me $45 for a year of membership.
I sent them an email requesting they cancel the charge and my account because I didn't use the service after the first ten days and did no intend to use it after that. Their response was that they don't do refunds, period.
I've had this happen with other trial periods before and after a quick email the company gladly removed the charges but apparently Highbrow's business model is based on trapping people who just forgot to subscribe in a YEARLONG membership.
Shame.
Just want to echo other reviews ... (bad ones) ...
Just want to echo other reviews: Brutal business model. I was waiting to be sent something, or just anything; never heard, was surprised to have my credit card charged after using zero of their service. My request for a refund was denied.
Don't hesitate!
Although the quality of Highbrow courses is quite uneven (I met carefully-crafted and packed with knowledge ones, as well as ones of poorer quality, with no more than simple tips), the platform is worth the membership fee. Firstly, the idea of learning through small and digestible bites, secondly, finally, a wide array of themes (that cater basically to anyone) and grate design with very supportive contact team, should any technical issue arise.

I first used Highbrow as a way to enhance my existing skills at work. These "bite-size" lessons are so easy to incorporate into your day and I find I can focus on these short lessons and better retain the information. I started this for work, but now look forward to choosing topics that I once considered too difficult for me but always wanted to have a good working knowledge of.

Real learning in bite-sized pieces
I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I've learned from some of the Highbrow courses. As a busy professional, it's hard to find time to study long texts about subjects I'm curious about. Too often, I abandon articles or books before finishing them, simply because of the pace of work. Highbrow sends bite-sized pieces of learning each morning, something I can always manage. It is amazing how much information can be packed into those pieces. If I want to explore something further, each day's lesson includes links to other resources, which is invaluable. I'm no expert at the end of ten days, but I've been exposed to the basics and usually some actionable advice I put into practice. Highly recommended.
I read Highbrow lessons every morning
I read Highbrow lessons every morning. I find the format excellent for continually giving me something new to learn. The courses are continually diverse and present new authors and new experts with different backgrounds. The materials are prepared in short enough chunks I can digest the concepts, but unlike free blog newsletters, the material that shows up in my inbox is carefully curtailed and worth the $60/year investment to have daily knowledge in my inbox. I also write courses for Highbrow, so am very steeped in the potential of what this platform offers and I have hopes that talented instructors will continue to join the platform to grow the courses catalog into the thousands, in the years to come, making Highbrow a gold mine of knowledge. This is especially important to me in this world of growing misinformation and fake news, where readers of online content want some reassurance there is care put into what they are consuming. I recommend this to everyone who wants to use their email inbox as a way to tap into a habit of learning a bit every day.
Well Worth It!
Highbrow offers numerous courses in multiple subject areas and in bite size pieces. I have found the instructors to be very knowledgeable as well. Out of the eight courses I have taken thus far, I have only come across one I did not enjoy and this was due to the instructor having a clear biased and not remaining neutral in the course content or examining both sides.
I have taken several Highbrow courses…
I have taken several Highbrow courses from various fields and loved all of them. Above all, they are useful and applicable in both personal and professional life. The diversity of topics adds even more freshness to this simple and fun way of gaining new knowledge.
Learn something new every day
Highbrow is a nice and easy way to be learning something everyday.
Sometimes for productivity, sometimes for ease of mind, I've been using Highbrow for two years and I'm happy with it.

I've really enjoyed the courses I've done on Highbrow over the past year or so. I've been introduced to new information and new ways of looking at things. Some have been more helpful than others but I've enjoyed learning that there is so much more to learn. My only complaint is that it is difficult to keep track of which courses I've already taken. If there was a way to note courses that I've already taken, I would really appreciate it!
5 minutes a day and I'm way more interesting at parties!
The content is great for every course I've taken this past year. Regardless of the instructor, the modules are interesting, usually entertaining to some degree, and overall, I've learned things from each and every course.
I am so pleasantly surprised
I am so pleasantly surprised with the helpfulness of the programs I’ve completed so far in my first year at Highbrow. I am really enjoying the variety of subjects offered. I have only one criticism of sorts. There is almost too much of a good thing. I don’t have time to fully absorb and put into practice all the useful tips to improve my life with new episodes every day and new courses every ten days. I have actually saved most of them and look forward to revisiting and learning from them again at leisure.
Keep up the high quality.
The Highbrow format is excellent!
The quality of the courses vary, for obvious reasons — but the format is excellent!
