Very disappointing experience
This has been such a sad, disappointing experience... I don't even know where to begin.
I purchased two carriers from this company. When they arrived, I promptly returned them both.
I paid for them each via payment plans. I paid ~$37.25 for one order, and ~$27.25 for another, totaling ~$64.50. Of that $64.50, I received ~$21 back.
I perused their website and made sure I understood their return policies, making careful note that I would be responsible for return shipping and that taxes were non-refundable, however, it's clearly stated on their website that shipping is free for orders over $55; both of my orders were well over that. The shipping costs to return the items were only $9.58 and $6.66 for each returned item. I also made note that there were no restocking fees listed, however, it does say that credit card fees (I paid with a debit), are non-refundable. When I reached out to their customer care team seeking a little clarity about my particular situation, the representative assisting me, Kate, showed me what they had in their "system," so I could see what exactly was taken out of what I'd paid, however, it just showed the amount that the company took out to cover the two return shipping fees for each order. In our exchanges, Kate repeatedly stated that "our return and shipping policies are available on our website for you to review at any time," and that "there are transaction fees, shipping costs, and we’ve clearly stated in our policy that these fees are non-refundable." Which I understand, but aside from the return shipping fees, what I don't understand is where the rest of my money ended up if, according to the policies laid out on their own website, the only fees that applied to me were due to those two RETURN shipping costs.
My receipts said 0.00 for taxes, and 0.00 for shipping, so I was unable to accurately cross-check the amounts and see just how much they kept for these things, or just have the receipt in my possession since I had nothing - nothing for my own record, and nothing to bring to Affirm, the company who handles payment plans that Goji uses. When I did the math on my own, if shipping was free for both orders, and if sales tax where I live is 5.5%, then that means I paid $5.95 in taxes for my $119 purchase, and $6.95 in taxes for my $139 purchase, with $0 for shipping on both orders. Adding these numbers up, with the return shipping costs, the total is $29.14. Given that I paid ~$64.50 for both orders, and if that $29.14 is non-refundable, I should have received ~$35.36 back, when I received ~$21.
I reached out to Kate again, then heard nothing for two days, and on the third day, I asked again for a receipt for my own records, and told her that her lack of response after being incredibly responsive to that point coupled with her inability to produce the receipts I was requesting was disappointing and shady.
When she responded, not only did she tell me that they were very busy and couldn't get me the receipts I requested, she called me inconsiderate for referring to their business practices as shady. ETA - it's now been over a week, still nothing.
I'm no expert, but I do know a few things - and being unable to remove your personal feelings to respond tactfully and professionally as a CUSTOMER CARE representative, negatively reflects the brand as a whole. Additionally, it comes off as gaslighting - as if the customer is the "bad guy" for inquiring about a huge discrepancy in terms of money that appears to be missing or unaccounted for with no explanation, which, Kate, if you're reading this, IS extremely shady.
I still haven't gotten my receipts from her, and that's how I left things - fully aware that I will not be getting receipts or missing money for the items I returned. I feel compelled to share my experience, because as an avid baby-wearer, who owns carriers from nearly every major company on the market (Solly, Hope&Plum, Wildbird, etc.), and who's paid for many of these carriers via payment plans and had to return a few here and there, I've never had this much money kept. This is such a bizarre case, and that's why I'm sharing about it - because it sticks out among the rest. It's never fun to post something like this, however, I feel it's necessary.
If anyone needs them, I am more than happy to attach the entire exchange here. I'm not saying steer clear of this company - as I read through the reviews on TP, I echo a lot of what other purchasers have said - their carriers are beautiful, sturdy, and well-made. It's great that the company has focused on their product and that they take great pride in its original, innovative design. However, I'm assuming none of these customers have had to make a return, an exchange, or deal with customer service, as those areas are extremely disappointing at best and lacking in almost every way.
I absolutely love this carrier!
I absolutely love this carrier. It has made my life so much easier. I’m back to cooking meals for my family, going outside (yay no more post partum sadness) it’s made going outside with my baby so easy. We’ve gone to the park a few times now. I wear here all the time. It’s made house chores easy. She’s comfortable & immediately goes to sleep. It doesn’t hurt my shoulders or back. We’re both cozy!
Love the product
Love the product. The fabric is beautiful and good quality 🫶🏻
So comfortable!!
Gojiberry is the first carrier I’ve tried that doesn’t hurt my back! I usually take a long walk each day and my little one naps in the carrier and I’m fine able to do it without back pain later that night. Not to mention the covers are so cute!
Absolutely love this carrier
Absolutely love this carrier. I wore it for hours with no issue and baby slept so peacefully. I love the ability to change out the covers. I tell everyone about this carrier.
Beautiful carrier
Beautiful carrier! Can’t wait to use it for a long time with baby!
This is hands down my favorite carrier
This is hands down my favorite carrier, and I’ve tried all of the big brands. Im a petite girl with a short torso, and a HEAVY baby, and this is the only carrier that doesn’t hurt my back. I had a total hyper fixation of carriers while pregnant, and this one caught my eye. It by far exceeded my expectations, and I plan on getting more covers ASAP. When I first ordered the carrier, the promo had just switched from 2 free extra covers, to one extra cover and one diaper bag. I messaged the company, and they graciously honored the original promo for me, as I wasn’t able to order in time due to having my baby early and being in the hospital. I rave about Gojiberry to everyone and even in BST groups, and will continue to do so!
I did so much research on baby carriers…
I did so much research on baby carriers and am sooo happy with my gojiberry! It is so easy to get on and off, and easy to get my 3.5mo into a perfect position that is safe for her hips! Babywearing with the gojiberry is super comfortable for many hours without any back pain. I’ve already washed the cover and it was super easy to put back on. I highly recommend this carrier and will be buying this for all of my friends with babies on the way!!!
Before my gojiberry carrier
Before my gojiberry carrier, I had a different carrier that was really hard to put on by myself and neither me or my baby were comfortable in it. I had been researching OT approved carriers and learned about Gojiberry from @babywearing.ot. I immediately was drawn to the fact that I could switch the covers of my carrier to match most of my outfits. My baby & I find our gojiberry to be extremely comfortable & able to be used anywhere: from events, to chores, at church, the airport, etc.
I absolutely love love love my carrier
I absolutely love love love my carrier!! It’s amazingly comfortable and my baby loves it too. The design is very thought out, and perfect for every mom and dad. Out of all the carriers I’ve tried this one is by far my favorite.
OT AND PT approved!
I had several carriers gifted to me, this is the first i purchased on my own and im happy i did. Most worn carrier + I can change out the cover which is so helpful! It’s comfortable for my back and I’ve gotten compliments from OT and PTs on how good my babies hips sit in it!
I love this carrier!!
I love this carrier. It is comfortable and my baby seems very o be comfy in it. Love the ease of putting it on, clip clip done. Changing the covers is super easy and so nice To change up the color. When it is on it feels nice and not painful. I recommend this to family and friends. The company itself the communication is awesome! They helped me with my order and changing something for me. And also just chatting with me and giving me great info and sending videos and such for support. I want to thank the company for that! But yeah go get one of these! You won’t regret!
Gojiberry is thoughtfully curated
Gojiberry is one of four different carrier brands I have in my rotation and while each brand has its own style and special things about them, nothing quite beats the one major thing that sets Gojiberry apart which is that interchangeable cover. They not only have the most beautiful styles, soft fabric (major win for our daughter who has severe eczema), and vibrant colors, but they are also incredibly communicative. I have had so many questions about how to wear my baby safely and the Gojiberry team has gotten back to me within hours every time. I cannot say the same about any of the other brands I use. The family is wonderful and they have created a beautiful lasting product that won’t require an entire unit replacement when we get tired of the design we initially purchased. So thoughtfully curated!
The gojiberry carrier is a game changer
My gojiberry carrier is a game changer! It is the first carrier to fit both myself and my husband without a ton of adjustments and is super affable when compared to other carriers often marketed on my socials.
I love how soft the fabric is and the ability to easily swap or clean spit up messes is much appreciated. The shoulder straps are soft and padded without feeling bulky.
I will absolutely be recommending this one over other brands to any of my new mom friends.
New mom approved! Comfortable and practical
I recently became a new mom and this is the baby carrier I reach for when I need to get things done around the house or am out and about. It’s the ONLY carrier my baby girl likes. It’s soft and comfortable for me and her (even for extended periods of time). My favorite part is that I can wash the cover, that has already come in handy many times! lol
Perfect carrier!
What I love about this carrier:
- super supportive waistband! Feel that my range of motion is much better because of the support and I find that I can carry my baby for long periods without it slipping down and needing adjustments.
- criss cross back straps. Much prefer to backpack style straps on other carriers. Feels easier on my back.
- the flap at the top front. I put it up when my baby is napping and down when he is awake and wants to look around more!
- the removable cover makes washing it so easy!
So comfortable!
As a plus size woman I always worry about things fitting and being comfortable even when they say they’re size inclusive. Gojiberry truly is!! I also love that the straps are comfortable and soft but not bulky. The X back for me is a lot more comfortable than H and I’m glad this can do both, comfortably!
I will say that the thing that got me to choose them over a couple others I was looking at, was they’re removable and interchangeable covers!!
So far, so good!
I recently received my Gojiberry carrier and have started trying it out. I have a couple of structured carries from big brands that just feel clunky and hard to manage on my own, so I was looking for something easier to use without help. This carrier is definitely manageable to put on and take off without someone helping with the clips, which is great! I still find the waistband slightly uncomfortable or awkward feeling, but it is much more comfortable for me overall. My baby also recently slept for about 2 hours in the carrier on our second day of using it, which is longer than she has ever been willing to stay in any of our other carriers! I’m planning to use this for an upcoming trip and am hopeful she’ll be happy and content for a while at a time so I can remain hands free at the airport! Only time will tell, but I suspect we’ll get a lot of use out of this carrier based on our initial experience.
Bad back, big boobs, and a velcro baby
First off, I am obsessed with the gojiberry carrier. I have a velcro baby and we tried several other carriers and wraps. They just left me with an aching back and not enough support. It took me a while to figure out how to make the bottom smaller for an infant. Once I realized what the picture instructions were showing, I felt silly. I was unbuttoning the cover. This is the first carrier ive used that I don't find my self supporting the baby with one hand. She feels so secure that Im truly hands free. I have a very large chest and have no pain whatsoever. I love that there aren't a ton of buckles to try to get the right fit. Just toss over my shoulder. clip, and tighten it up. I wish I had found gojiberry before I spent money on any other carriers. The removable cover is chefs kiss. I got the diaper bad top and that thing is so nive and much roomier than I thought. Im planning to attach it to my stroller when the weather warms up.
Comfy, cute, and practical!
I love my carrier! I just started using it and it is so comfortable on my shoulders and back. My baby is also drooling a bit and has reflux, so the removable covers have been a game changer! The materials are soft and gentle for them. My husband is a firefighter and leaves for work every third day. Being able to wear my carrier with my Velcro baby, has allowed me to do basic things like feed myself lunch. 😂 I also appreciate that Gojiberry tells you to use their carrier until after your baby is 3 months old. (Definitely follow that recommendation 😬). Overall, it is super easy to strap on. I had to adjust it several times until I found a spot that felt just right for my baby and I, but once that was set, it felt so lightweight. 10/10 recommend!
