I am afraid that Golf Mates Travel cannot be trusted. They hide mistakes (mistakes that ruin breaks) and then refuse to engage when you seek recompense. I booked in Sept 24 for a trip in Jun 25. 3 days in the UK for 20 people. I booked tee times on the last day at 10am to allow for return travel. Despite having 9 months to own up to their mistake, Golf Mates decided to tell me at 4pm on the day before that tee times were never at 10am, but were at 2pm - effectively cancelling our last day. Since then, they have refused to engage or provide any form or refund or recompense. I would steer clear. It seems a very amateur operation.

Golf Mates have replied below stating a number of inaccuracies including the offer of a refund. I would happily take a refund- but we were never offered a refund - simply a voucher for our next trip with them. Which given their performance - it’s not unreasonable to refuse. The fact is - I have sent numerous emails to which I have received no response. I understand that the tee times were booked and paid for- just not the ones that I had asked and they had said were booked.

Golf mates travel exceeded themselves again this year with another amazing trip, from the transfers to and from the courses, courses where outstanding all put together by golf mates, can’t see our group of 12 booking with anyone for the foreseeable future top notch, very much appreciated. I’ll be in touch to book 2026 very soon, thanks to all the team involved.

I have used Golf mates for the last 7 yrs at least twice if not more. I personally wouldn't use another golf travel company.

The comms are amazing and also very contactable once away if needed.

Praia Del Rey Trip. Fantastic games of golf on great courses. Courses were challenging especially with the weather but all in all we all had a good time. Peter and the team made everything smooth from booking to arrival and all the games.......highly recommended

Second booking with Pete at Golf Mates Travel going to Dom Pedro in Vilamoura. Everything was perfect again, kept up-to-date throughout the whole process, received payment reminders and flight detail requests from Isabella who also answered any questions I had too.

No issues whatsoever and Pete arranged hotel, tee times, buggies, transfers etc and it all ran perfectly just as it did two years ago! Have also used Pete for a weekend golf break in the UK and can safely say that if you are booking a golf trip, these guys are the people to use!

Excellent service, everything was superb. Look forward to booking again next year!

Me and 3 friends have just returned from a golf holiday which we booked through Golf Mates Travel to Sueno Golf Resort in Belek.

Can honestly say what a fantastic golf trip we had. Golf mates arranged everything from Flights, Hotel Stay, Golf rounds booked and transfers. Everything was faultless and it was so well organised. We also had the luxury of our very own personal Rep over in Belek called Ayhan. Massive shout out to Iain who booked and arranged everything for us and to Ayhan who was fantastic throughout, on arrival he was there to welcome us and make sure we got our transfers, our return journey was evwn better. He was there as soon as we arrived, made sure we had three trolleys waiting, took us through security and through check in. Honestly the service throughout was 5* will definately be looking to book again next year. Thanks Golf Mates Travel

From start to finish the golf mates travel team were great, happy to help and quick to respond. They always provide great value deals, lots of choice and keep you upto date through the whole process. 12 of us went to Robinson golf Quinta da Ria and had a fabulous time.the courses were great and afterwards the food and drink was exceptional.both Peter and Ian sorted the booking and tee times for us and transfers and it all ran smoothly.great few days

I booked through Golf Mates Travel for 2 weeks in Portugal and Spain, Iain was very helpful and gave me a lot of insight of what to expect and ideas for my trip. Very professional and helpful when I had to change my trip at the last minute due to work commitments. I had an amazing trip. Thanks

Sixteen of us booked a weeks golf at El Rompido and was offered an upgrade to fully all inclusive for £40 each which we took. On arrival we were told that they do not do fully all inclusive only semi all inclusive. Despite numerous phone calls, emails and letters we have yet to receive a response, an apology or a refund. They also changed our tee times and days we played without any consultation, despite booking these an over a year in advance to get the ones we wanted. Without a doubt this is the worst tour operator we have dealt in the 27 years we have been going away. They are not a member of ABTA so you have no help if anything goes wrong. IAGTO who they are a member of are also a trade group but do not arbitrate on customer complaints. “Beware”

We have travelled with Golf Mates for the last 3 years and I can honestly say the service was top notch. The team provided excellent options, tailored to our groups needs and any followups were promptly replied.

All the trips have been faultless, transfers on time, seamless rental club pickup/dropoff, accommodation always in a good area and as advertised.

I can highly recommend this company to organise your golf trip, they offer a highly personalised experience.

Thanks to Pete and Iain again for organising our recent trip to Murcia. I can't fault a single thing, the transfers were good every day, brand new minibus each day. The teetimes were really good as were the 5 courses.the hotel Narejos was perfectly located for the local nightlife. Breakfast was also really good. It's the second year running the 8 of us have used Golf mates with no problems at all. Just booked Morocco for March with Pete. Thanks again for a great golf break.

Peter Finch did an outstanding job in creating a golf trip that hit every touch point that I requested for my group from the level of accommodation to the quality of the golf courses selected and the transportation that was seamless for the entire trip. I couldn't ask for a better package and pricing for the group. Highly recommend using Golf Mates for your travel plans.

Booked with these guys a few times now , absolutely superb !! friendly , helpful and knowledgeable. I have used other companies in the past but never again !! I would 100% recommend , thanks again Iain for all you help

The staff at Golf Mates Travel were great and helpful from start to finish and would definitely recommend and will be using again when we book again.

We had a 4 night trip at the Sao Rafael Suites with golf at 3 courses Morgado,Alamos and Salgados. All 3 were really good courses and would recommend playing.

We only had one issue on arrival with the room as the one we were put in had mould all over the ceiling and smelt very musty. Not good for people especially when two of us suffer from asthma. Credit to the night staff as we didn't arrive until 1am but they did find us another room straight away. Food etc was good with a selection of foods.

Just returned from a 4 day golf trip to the amendoeira resort in Portugal, Absolutely first class from start to finish. Everything you could want from a golf trip (apart from some dodgy weather). The villa/house we had (5) was superb with Everything you needed for a good stay, the courses were also in excellent condition Its not too far away in an uber to the main strip for evening drinks either, all in all was a top golf trip.

feedback regarding our recent trip to Morocco

Transfers: can’t complain one bit. Drivers were always early, friendly and very helpful

Hotel: Be live experience, the hotel was helpful and friendly, clean etc The food (this is going to sound very English) was very Moroccan which wasn’t an issue for us but I could see it would cause a problem for some as there was very little in the way of English type food. Breakfast was very limited in a morning with no sausages, bacon or beans on offer. No English option at lunch or diner.

Having been to Morocco for golf before we were familiar with the standard of golf to expect so would rate the golf as follows

11/10 Assoufied - greens are very sub par there are repairs on most greens that need time to weather in compared to earlier in the year

12/10 AI Maaden bang on, exactly what we expected

13/10 Palm Ourika again exactly what we expected great track

14/10 Montgomerie haven’t played this before and wouldn’t rush back, the coarse itself if pretty good but areas surrounding it look like Beirut. We had a storm the night before playing so bunkers were unplayable and low areas of fairways were very wet but this can’t be helped. You could tell it would have been a nice track without the storm

All in all a great trip I’d look at recommending a different hotel just because of the food and drop the Montgomery until you get some better feedback. Assoufid needs a few months to get the greens back up to a standard you would expect
