Absolutely terrible experience, I renewed my contract and a week later all my cameras stopped working. I called support and literally not one person could help me and told me I had to wait for this one guy in the company to help me. I've spent 2 hours trying to figure this out of time I didn't already have, if you want a bad experience certainly go with Motive it's literally impossible to deal with these people. When they wanted me to sign the contract they called me about 400 times, now that it's signed and my cameras aren't working they can't give me a time a day. Terrible.

If you are considering Motive, RUN.
This company is not a “fleet solution.” Motive is a billing trap wrapped in marketing. Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced, and they have repeatedly put our business and compliance at risk.
We signed with Motive in 2022 believing we were agreeing to a 3-year contract. Later we discovered it was written as a 4-year contract. Convenient, right? That tells you everything you need to know about how they operate: misleading, manipulative, and dishonest.
Customer Service Is a Complete Joke
Every call ends the same way:
“Someone will call you back.”
They don’t call back.
Or they call a week later.
Or they transfer you to someone who has no clue what’s going on.
It’s an endless loop of wasting your time until you give up.
Motive does not solve problems — they delay them until it becomes YOUR crisis.
Shipping and Orders Are a Disaster
Devices shipped late.
Wrong address.
Wrong cables.
Wrong everything.
This is basic logistics, and they fail at it constantly.
They Cost Us Owner-Operators and Business
I attempted to add 5 owner-operators. Motive delayed the process for over TWO WEEKS, promising callbacks again and again.
Those owner-operators walked away because they couldn’t afford to wait. They had expenses to cover and couldn’t risk dealing with Motive’s incompetence.
Then — AFTER we lost the drivers — Motive suddenly placed the order.
When I called to cancel, they refused.
So Motive delayed the process, destroyed the opportunity, and still tried to force us into charges.
That is not customer service.
That is straight-up negligence.
Predatory Billing Practices
We were paying quarterly for 15 devices while only using 5 or 6.
When we asked to switch to monthly billing and pay only for what we actually use, they didn’t fix the problem. Instead, they tried to pressure us into extending our contract or signing up for extra junk (fuel card, fleet card, etc.).
Their account managers don’t care about your fleet.
They care about commission and squeezing every dollar out of you.
They Suspended the Driver App (November 2025)
In November 2025, Motive suspended the driver app and blamed “non-payment,” while claiming the dashboard was still active.
That means NOTHING.
Drivers are the ones on the road. Drivers are the ones risking violations. Motive created chaos, panic, and stress for our drivers and made our company look like we were shutting down.
Drivers were forced into paper logs because Motive failed to deliver the service we were paying for.
For a “compliance” company, this is beyond unacceptable — it is dangerous.
The Most Insane Part: They Charged Us $3,156 While Service Was Suspended
After all this, Motive demanded $3,156 for months when the account was already suspended.
Let that sink in:
They shut down the service and still billed us thousands of dollars.
That is not business. That is robbery.
Final Warning
Motive is:
Misleading contracts
Fake customer support
Slow and incompetent operations
Predatory billing
Zero respect for compliance
Zero respect for customers
This company wasted our time, cost us drivers, damaged our reputation, and nearly destroyed our operations.
Avoid Motive at all costs. Motive is a liability, not a partner.

Should be zero stars especially since it gives out false reports about speeding and stop signs and penalizing the drivers Well I don't know what computer nerd set the problem up but I have never seen a stop sign on a turn around under a overpass so if you want something that will penalize the drivers with BS reports then this BS Motive dash cam GPS is for you but I would never recommend this 💩 system

Pushy, sneaky sales tactics. Sent a dash cam completely different than what I requested but refuse to take responsibility, refund money or cancel contract. They started the contract the day the sales rep placed the order, unbeknownst to me. The equipment arrived approximately 2 weeks later. Although the problem was immediately reported, they claim that we are 'mid contract' and cancellation is not an option. Consumers aren't even given the right to verify that the proper items are sent or that they will suffice before they are locked into a contract! A manager even admitted in writing that the camera I did request was available (although another had said the opposite), but that in her 'opinion' it is not something that we would want. So, apparently, they just shipped and charged for whatever they chose regardless of our request. Shady tactics all around. Legal recourse for violation of consumer rights is being taken. And good luck communicating if you are accustomed to an American English dialect!

I am using them for the last 10 years, Even before ELD was mandatory. Always great to work with. Very reliable and easy to reach customer service.
Not sure why there are so many complains.
used one other company (Omnitracs) and it was a nightmare.
Only downside, they are a bit pricy.

Deceptive, scamming thieves. Do not commit to anything. They do not stand behind their product. The only concern for Motive is to steal your credit card information and commit fraud with unauthorized charges. Sasha Brooks is one of the best when it comes to lying, scamming, and deceptive billing practices.

If we could give this company negative rating, I would.
We have 1 ELD with the company. That's it. We originally signed up many years ago when they were known as KeepTruckin when their service was great, and we got a dedicated account manager with a direct line.
The only reason we didn't cancel sooner, was that law enforcement will tell you they enjoy their side of the app for drivers as it's easy to use and makes the traffic stop / scale stops easier.
Now that we have sold our fleet and no longer need the service, it is a nightmare to cancel. Weeks of calling the main CS line and being told "we can't give a direct line to your account manager", but the manager is the only person that can help cancel the account, and it's auto-renewing. I have even tried to reach out to their Head of People, Shulamite White (per their website), via email, with hopes she would crack down on this, but I haven't received a response from her either.
If you forget or don't call within 30 days of the contract, you're stuck for another 12 months. At that point, just cancel your credit card. You will get calls asking for payment right away then.
The FTC is currently pushing legislation for "Negative Option" laws against these sort of auto-renewing contracts, but we'll see if it actually gets passed....

As a truck driver, Motive is frustrating. The clocks don't work right, I have to log out and then back in every morning to get my time to reset. There's no night driving mode, so you have a white light glaring in your face while you're trying to see in the dark. I have to click 59 things up for my truck check which is stupid, I'm not looking at my truck if I'm busy clicking a screen. There's too many pages to go through to do you're load, nothing carries over like when I click arrived I also have to fill the address and location info out, duh, that should carry over. When I do a loaded call I have to fill that page, then do to a page under something completely not related to put my load number on the form page. I think a child developed this app.
It doesn't work very well, is annoying to use and honestly shouldn't be in existence. Don't water your time on it. Junk

Motive is a scam, I was lied to by Griffin Waheb as to what services were going to be provided under the contract. He is no longer with the company. Now I am stuck dealing with Dennis Robinson, I am not allowed to talk to a manager. I have reversed the charges with my credit card as my credit card company found that I was lied to. Now Motive has turned me into collections, as they do with alot of customers. I will continue to fight this fraud.

Excellent communication until you sign the paperwork. Once you do, it's crickets from them should you have an issue. From the start, I was not able to log in to my account to activate the device. It took 3 months to get them to fix that. Then the device didn't work on my truck, so I tried to cancel the service, but I never heard anything from them. Now, they have sent my account to a collection agency for not paying them. DO NOT SIGN

Update:
I am not able to answer your reply. Also, I don't want to be leaving my personal info here. Get in touch with Zain Khan my account manager. He knows the situation and he has my contact info. This needs to be resolved ASAP. Otherwise I will, unfortunately, have to involve our lawyer.
Absolutely horrible service from Motive. I requested the cancellation of one of our units over a month ago, yet they still invoiced me for all units. I asked multiple times for the invoice to be corrected and was repeatedly told it would be updated — which never happened.
I spoke with our account manager again today and was once again assured it would be fixed. I also specifically asked if there was any risk of our account being suspended and was reassured multiple times that it would not happen.
Well, it did happen. Our account has now been suspended due to their complete incompetence, and we are in serious trouble because our units are no longer working in any of our vehicles.
I will be seeking legal advice on how to proceed. If you don’t want to be put in this kind of position, I strongly recommend staying away from Motive.

I also called and tried to cancel my service. After being called and harassed by multiple associates for payment. With no emails or phone calls they try to charge my account multiple times without my permission.I was told I have no option, but to pay the remaining balance. Upon signing up the sales rep told me in order to “lock In the rate” I would have to pay same-day.. I also asked him to go month-to-month and he said that I “did not qualify for that plan. I had to pay the annual rate” and did not have an option.. I had to pay right then and there before reading over any contract and I have documentation. After reading over the contract, it did state that you can cancel upon sending a cancellation notice. But like I said, they told me I had no options. Now I just got a letter from a collection agency demanding payment. And after reading everybody else’s complaint, I see that this is an ongoing issue. I will hire an attorney if needed to settle this. Seems like everybody needs to get together and do a class action lawsuit. In my opinion horrible people to work with…they lie to you from the start to end. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO WITH MOTIVE!!

Avoid this company! Sales rep gave me misinformation on how the program works. After getting an updated quote from insurance, this was costing me more to have than it was saving me on my premium. When I brought this to their attention and asked for a refund, they just kept repeating how the program works and would not take accountability. I even offered to send the equipment back if they would send me a box/postage, they sent me a collections letter instead. This company is a joke!
