Goodleap is shady and misleading
Goodleap is shady and misleading. While trying to make my final payment, they hid $0.20 of the final amount owed and when the 0% interest promo period ended, I was left with a $981 interest bill because of the hidden $0.20. They have a history of doing this with past customers and are involved in countless lawsuits. Stay away from Goodleap.
do not use!!!!!!!!!!!!!
do not use!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they have no customer serive, take forver to get someone on the phone then screw you over. we needed a UCC lift to do a HELOC and they are stating it takes 5-7 days? seriously? screwing a great customer over, i will nevr use them again and run anytime i see their name
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!
GoodLeap appears to rely on vague underwriting guidelines and discretionary contract language in a way that conceals critical terms from consumers until it is too late to take corrective action. This practice is misleading, unethical, and predatory. It has placed significant financial and emotional stress on my family during the sale of our home.
I respectfully request that GoodLeap be held accountable and that they honor the original loan agreement as signed. Specifically, I ask that they remove any fabricated or undisclosed fees or clauses not presented at the time of signing.
Stay FAR AWAY from this company
Stay FAR AWAY from this company. They came to our house, and we were already thinking of getting a tankless water heater and filtration all sounded good till they PUT A LIEN on our house! believe me this was not disclosed, or I would have closed the door on them.
It doesn't stop there. when they came to work on the house the ruined our original hard wooden floors by making a hole in our Livingroom. This room is nowhere near the water tank! They also made another whole in the baseboard of one of our bedrooms. Their response was we fixed the hole, and you need to replace your baseboards anyways WOW!!
Then they put piping all along the side of our house, none of that was disclosed as well. They made it seem like it was a nice easy job. of course, they didn't leave without trying to scare us that the piping under the house was all rusty and we needed to spend 30k to fix it. thank God I said no thank you! but funny how 30k came down to, I can do it for $1000.00 on the side if you get the material.
Expensive lesson learned for not doing my research first! any future customs do not do it STAY AWAY!!!!!
harassing phone calls
if you are over due on your bill even by under a week they harass you with phone call 3 or more a week one phone call will surfice then they try to force you to pay. not good business practice I told them the exact date I was going to pay them and still they call to harass me understand I am at work and can get terminated by answering my phone or having it ring while serving customers again 1 phone call a week is sufficient.
Don’t do it! Anywhere but here!
We took out a loan for solar, shine Solar set up with GOODLEAP the loan was 7% with no payments for 12 months. No where in the fine print did I see that the interest rate went up and the first years interest was added to the original loan
We original loan was for 53K we just paid them off at 59K they will not stop auto payments once it’s set up. The will deduct 2 payment in a month with 5 weeks and then try to tell you your payment on the following mo is late, and charge late fees!
When it’s set up on auto payments you can not make principal payments as in add 300 a month to pay it down quicker. They can’t handle that. And most annoying 2-3 times a month they sent my a payment reminder!
Do not waste your time trying to work here
I interviewed with this company and I have to say this is probably the worst experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. They have you do five zoom interviews and an IQ test a typing test and a Mortgage test and then a group interview if you can make it to that point. They basically tell you that they are soliciting current customers and getting them transferred over to you without the understanding that a mortgage lender is going to be getting on the phone with them very deceptive and not a very honest company I would not recommend them to anyone.
Their website is terrible
Their website is terrible. It is impossible to figure out how much remaining balance there is. More than once when calling they would pick up the phone and then just hang up without saying anything. I'm glad my loan is paid off and I'm done with them for good
This company is not professional
This company is not professional. Trying to keep an account current for family member that passed away. Paid four payments and now being told payment didn't go through yet provided me with Confirmation numbers and now will not speak to me until probate letter. How is it I'm trying to pay and receive total disrespect and hostility! Make a payment then receive repossess notice. Wow. Great job! Disgusting
Extremely Disappointed – Lack of Transparency and Communication
A few months ago, I was approved for a $55,000 loan from GoodLeap to finance a home improvement project. I signed the agreement, met all the requirements, and the project is already underway. However, I was recently informed by the contractor that GoodLeap decided to cancel the financing without providing any clear explanation — and worst of all, I never received any official notice or communication directly from the company.
I’ve tried reaching out to get answers, but so far I’ve received no clear information or viable solution. This situation has put my entire project and finances at serious risk.
A company that handles major loans like this should have a responsible and transparent communication policy with their customers. Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite.
I do not recommend GoodLeap. If you’re considering working with them to finance a project, I strongly urge you to think twice.
BEWARE - Dishonest Practices
BEWARE! Good Leap is an extremely dishonest credit loan company. They calculated my loan in a "promotional" period with no interest due if paid off in 12 months. They debited my account every month with the amount they said would pay off the loan off in a timely manner (never wrote a check or paid a payment on my own - they debited the account each month by their calculations). Due to an error on their part, they miscalculated by .03 cents. Now they claim I'm out of the promotional period and I owe them $800 in back interest. Six phones in which I spoke with flunkies who said a case would be opened and a case manger would call me within 1-2 days every time I called. NEVER had a return call for 2 weeks as of this posting. DO NOT TAKE A LOAN WITH THIS COMPANY. Oh, and they keep calling me to ask if I need any other home improvement loans. REALLY like I'd ever give them my business gain. Truly a bad company to do business with. BEWARE!!!
This is the most lying deceiving…
This is the most lying deceiving company I’ve ever dealt with!!!! Please! Go elsewhere for solar or any needs you may have!!! They should have option for 0 stars!!!! The amount of deceiving that goes on at this company is appalling!!!! I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t have a class action law suit SOON! I say soon because it will be started for me!!!
I wish I could give a zero
I wish I could give a zero.
They mislead you with their lending practices. We used them for a solar loan. We have to sell our house due to unforeseen circumstances. I've offered to pay 80% of the loan in cash at sale and that is unacceptable they're demanding the full amount. Now, that is fair, but most companies will work with you under financial constraints. They refuse to even entertain anything other than the full amount and especially because now I'm behind a payment by 25 days (*WOW 25 DAYS) they are continuing to exploit me.
If I'm struggling to pay maybe I DO need help? Maybe it's better to get the money than have to go through $ and stress with collections? I'm trying to work with them and they're refusing. Its interesting after they lied to us about how the tax rebate works and pre-payments/reamoritization.
The people who work there are also rude and have no customer service training.
Goodleap is out to screw you…
Goodleap is out to screw you through predatory loan practices, plain and simple. Most people using such a loan program are woefully unaware of amortization tables and how the actual payments are calculated on loans. But this company has got to be the worst I've ever seen. Let's say you get a loan from them for a home project or solar, etc. That loan is 30K. The way in which this company creates their amortization table (payback schedule) is as follows:
Month 1: 100% of your payment goes to interest only (not a single penny goes towards paying down the principle amount of your loan). NOT 1 PENNY
Month 2, 3, 4, and 5: NOT A SINGLE PENNY GOES TOWARDS PRINCIPLE PAYDOWN.
This means that you are 6 months in before ANY of your payments begin to pay down your principle, and even then it starts at around .07 percent of you payment, with 93% of your money going again to interest only....
So you may very well pay well over $4000 in this example straight to Goodleap before you start tackling the actual debt.
PREDATORY and SHAMEFUL
⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 Star
⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 Star – Would Give 0 If Possible)
If I could give GoodLeap zero stars, I absolutely would. This has been one of the worst financial decisions I’ve ever made. From the start, the process was filled with misleading information, and now I’m stuck with a solar system that has never worked since installation—yet I’m still being billed every month.
I trusted GoodLeap to finance my solar project, expecting a seamless and transparent experience. Instead, I’ve had nothing but frustration. My system has been inoperable from day one, and despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, GoodLeap refuses to step in or provide any real assistance. They expect me to continue making payments for something that has provided zero benefit.
On top of that, their customer service is abysmal. Getting a straight answer is nearly impossible, and every time I call, I’m either passed around from one department to another or given generic responses with no real resolution. They’re quick to take your money but nowhere to be found when something goes wrong.
If you’re considering GoodLeap for solar financing—RUN. Find a company that actually values its customers and stands behind the products they finance. This company is a nightmare to deal with, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.
Ask for a payoff for my loan
Ask for a payoff for my loan, gave a payoff amount then sent me a bill after, called customer service they said they gave me the wrong amount and would not take the fall for the wrong amount. I had benn paying this loan for 8 years never had an invoice after paying. stay away.
Goodleap financed a fraudulent solar…
Goodleap financed a fraudulent solar contract without verifying approvals and funded a “free” roof that was installed before I was informed that my solar system wasn’t approved. Trapped in financial duress, I had no choice but to sign a second contract to avoid paying for the roof out of pocket or fighting a lien. Their contract states the Holder Rule applies, yet they refuse accountability. This company is negligent, deceptive, and enables predatory lending. Avoid Goodleap at all costs!
Goodleap is a company that needs to be investigated
Goodleap is a company that needs to go out of business. Every second I talked to them they kept adding cents to my total payment. This company needs to be investigated.
Changed our loan terms After the work was completed.
GoodLeap financed us for $35,000 on a 15 year loan term at just over ten percent interest. We were to have three jobs done with Wilson Plumbing, electrical and hvac. Somehow our loan was closed with only one job applied to the loan. When the second job was completed, Wilson was unable to add the invoice to the loan.
Upon calling GoodLeap they said it was simply a matter of reopening the loan to add the other invoice on.
Months later they've not only failed to reopen the loan, but made us reapply, running our credit again, and offered us only $15000 on a ten year term at nearly 20% interest. That is not only unacceptable but the loan amount doesn't even cover the work we've already had done. Two people from GoodLeap assured us that one, our credit would not be run again and two, that the loan terms would remain the same. Without solving the problem they said they're simply closing the inquiry. Now we have over $20,000 in unpaid invoices to Wilson plumbing due that we simply can't afford to pay as we were only able to have the repairs performed because we'd been financed.
It seems to be a theme
It seems to be a theme. I got a loan with this company because I had a new roof installed on my house. It was not mentioned to me on the phone that interest would accrue on the loan before my first payment. I missed that on the document. Why not make the payment start on the same day if you are going to have interest accrue on the loan? Needless to say when I paid off my loan 7 months later I owed more than what I took out the loan for by ~$200. Another red flag is the site does not give you a balance or show you how much of your payment is going to interest vs the principal and your statement only shows the original amount of the loan and your payment and not remaining balance. As well as, it never includes the interest they are charging you before you make payments. There is no way to validate the true amount that is owed. There has to be a law against this!
