Look elsewhere if you're wanting mobile service

I was simply curious and wanted to check costs of Google Fi and then was going to delete from my cart, but you can't delete a plan without contacting customer service.

I called customer service three times and they hang up without answering three times in a row and now I'm stuck. Given Amazon's huge settlement with the FTC over some iffy practices, I can't imagine any website that won't let you remove things from the cart. It's either deceptive with the hopes that people will sign up or incredibly amateurish for a company such as Google. Just say no!

WORST SUPPORT EVER

Just like everyone else here, if I could give it a negative review I would. PLEASE DO NOT get this connection or even bang your head to get it. This is the WORST support service I could have ever received. I tried to get on the call 4 times, each time the call dropped. I thought of then trying to chat to get the support but guess what, the chat doesn't work either. We purchased a new watch from BestBuy that comes with the Google fi connection but it never worked. Guess what we ended up doing? Ended up getting from our provider because we got so frustrated.

I wish that I could give it negative…

I wish that I could give it negative stars. I opened up a group plan for myself and my kids and it is absolutely impossible to cancel. They put you through the ringer when you try to cancel and despite calling 3 times to confirm that my lines have been cancelled over the last 2 months, I have been fully charged for Google Fi for 2 full months. This is not cool and I do not recommend opening a line with them because you will be unable to cancel it.

I would give -10 stars if I could

I have had google fi for years, and was completely delighted with the support I got. I was trying to do something that seems was too difficult for the chat person I got. I was told in chat that I just had to wait a couple of hours and all would be well and I could contact via chat for up to 24 hours. LIAR! I went back to the support page and there was no way to contact google. No chat, no phone nothing.

I searched and found a numbers that should work, not the right company. Found another site with links, all 404. Finally found the number on a site, can't remember the name. I was able to call and eventually got some help. I had to leave before I finished but was assured that I could just call to continue. I received calls but after 1 ring the calls were ended. I decided to wait till morning, called and got nothing but busy signals. If there are no problems all is good. I guess Google has decided they don't need to support customers they already have...we GOT YOU!! no need anymore. HORRIBLE

Just delete SIM after taking it out

Great service untiul it fails, and when it fails it fails miserably. I lost 5G after going to Japan, google fi cutomer for 7+ years, perfect in many countries Japan included until now, and after 7 phone calls (5 of which abruptly disconnected (with promise to call back that NEVER HAPPENED) and one call back while update was in its 55th minute (yes 55 minutes of 97 to download, another 1.25 hours of install of updates.... that DID NOT FIX ANYTHING!!!
I ended up taking a logical route, take out sim, delete sim data,. delete all cache and storage data for sim, delete all data in network storage settings... basicly reset phone like it never connected to anything ever, reset phone wih NO sim... then when asked insert and follow prompts, BOOM 5G back: F U google cant figure out a simple protocal like this to fix a very common problem. Google FI is literally HORRID

Google FI is literally the most frustrating experience I have ever dealt with. Their customer service reps are incompetent provide misinformation (repeatedly), and cannot problem solve to save their life. It is completely unprofessional. They should be out of business. Worst mistake I ever made was using this HORRIBLE, INCOMPETENT and UNETHICAL company. Stay away at all costs!!!

Switching between Standard and Unlimited and back will lead to extra YouTube Premium charges. You will spend hours dealing with customer service for them not to understand the issue and no refund. Stay away. Use Mint.

I would give it negative 1 star if I could. The customer service is terrible — agents speak poor English, and the background noise is always loud, like they're working from a kitchen. It doesn't feel like a professional or Google-affiliated service at all. I missed multiple calls because the system kept dropping me. I want my money back and will never use this scam service again.

Google Fi won't allow me to use my insurance

Phone is covered by device protection but Google won't fix the screen. They keep referring me to a third party who refers me back to them. They won't allow me to speak to management or escalate my case. They've stolen $8/month from me and refuse to allow me to use benefits im paying for.

I broke my phone while on a Google Fi…

I broke my phone while on a Google Fi plan but also have two step verification. If this happens, it is a huge headache and you will probably lose your number because in order to access your phone number, you need to log into your account and in order to log into your account, you need the phone number. The process has been a nightmare and no one at Google Fi can or will help and there is no way to contact Google to help you with your account. Furthermore, when taking my phone abroad (where it broke), I spent most of the time unable to get service which is why I switched to Google Fi in the first place.

WORST WIRELESS. CHARGE FOR NOTHING

I’m an international student and Google Fi charged me $91 for absolutely nothing. I canceled the service a month ago, and still got charged out of nowhere. When I contacted support, they told me I’ll have to wait up to 90 days to get my money back — that’s insane!

On top of that, the internet itself was terrible. Constant disconnects, super slow speeds, and almost no usable data even when I was on unlimited. It’s honestly a joke to pay $100 a month for something this slow and unreliable.

This is one of the worst mobile internet services I’ve ever used. Avoid Google Fi at all costs. Support is unhelpful, billing is broken, and they charge you even after cancellation. I don’t recommend this to anyone — especially not if you’re on a tight budget like me.

One star is too much

One star is too much. The customer service is horrible. My problem was that calling out, I often got a message "call ended". The customer service couldn't figure it out, and twice, they simple hung up on me! The line went dead and they had my number to call back but they didn't. I read this in other reviews. If they can't figure something out, they just hang up. I changed to Mint and it was a better deal for data too.

Free Trial is a scam

Went through the google fi website to start a 7 day free trial.
Followed all the instructions, on the website and in the app with it indicating I was sigining up for the 7 day free trial.

I canceled with in 6 days and recived a you have cancled your service e-mail.

They are now charging me the full months statment plus a second month statment.

They keep telling me I didn't sign up for a free trial when I did.

Utter scam keep well away.

Use Visible instead they don't lie and are actually free, won't even take your card details for the trial.

Google Fi 1 week trial scam

Signed up for the 1 week trial. Cancelled on day five because it turned out I wouldn't need it. A month later I started seeing billing on my credit card. canceled again. they billed me for 2 more months. I never used the service. Customer service is an insulting joke. called and talked to a representative and they said they had to discuss with manager and she would get back to me with answers to my questions. Never heard from them again. Avoid this scummy rip off at all costs.

HORRIBLE! Refusal to honor promotion on THEIR technical issues.

I purchased two new phones under promotion. The promotion required porting the phone numbers over from a previous carrier, which we were planning to do anyway.
Upon attempting to port the numbers over, one of the phones froze up completely and had to be factory reset. The other just said "waiting to activate". We waited 24 hours without any activity from the porting process.
I called customer support and they suggested we cancel that port process, restart the phones, and try again. So we did that. They suggested it may take up to 24 hours, maybe longer, for those numbers to move over. So now we are on day three of trying to activate these phone and, 48 hours later, STILL NOTHING.
Contacted support again, and after talking for almost an hour, they found out that the area code for my state was 'locked out' of their system, I guess because my state had literally ran out of #'s in that area code, and they opened up a new area code. Ok, that doesn't explain why the #'s that I currently have didn't port over, but I asked the support agent what we should do and they said "We can issue them new Google Fi numbers as the port process for this other area code is not working in our system". My kids are young and changing a number wasn't that big of a deal, so I said "hey, if that can get us WORKING phones faster, then let's do it". At NO POINT did they mention that if I do not port a number over to Google that they will not honor the promotion. At NO POINT did the call agent even check this or mention it.

So they issued the new numbers, and all is fine for about two weeks until I get notification that the promotion is still pending. I check the details and it says that the numbers have to be ported over, not just 'new' numbers issued from Google.

So I contact support, again, for like the fifth time, and I fully explained the situation with the porting issue, and how WE TRIED TO DO IT, it DIDN'T WORK, and Google Support said we should just go with new numbers.
They didn't care. Not ONE bit. I got flippant , passive-aggressive messages like "I'm sorry you feel that way", or "I'm sorry that you didn't fulfill the requirements of the promotion and are therefore denied". I asked for a review of the situation as the porting problems were on THEIR end, not mine. There was nothing I could have done to fix that issue! NOTHING!
They adamantly refused. No supervisor, no review. Just said that I did not live up to my end of the deal.

That was the last straw. I contacted T-Mobile, got their best plan (which has more perks and was barely more expensive than Google), got three new phones on the way, and they were WONDERFUL to deal with. AND THEY WERE U.S. BASED. No more difficult to understand agents in India or elsewhere.

I barely had time in my 15 day return period to begin the RMA process to get a full refund on these phones. And I got better phones through T-Mobile and they were FREE!!! (under promotion, of course, like always).

Google Fi is an absolute NIGHTMARE to deal with, and I had been a customer for over 15 years. I bet I bought twenty phones through them over the years. NO MORE.

STAY FAR AWAY - they will SCREW YOU OVER AND NOT CARE ONE BIT!

We signed up for google fi plan

We signed up for google fi plan, a while back. I cannot remember the exact date. On Wed, Mar 12 we purchased another phone from google, because my husband's previous samsung power button had broken and we didnt have device protection. That's my fault, i accept that responsibility. Two months later, they state that we don't meet the demands of the rebate offer. They say they are going to automatically withdraw $500 from my checking account, due to they only accept auto-pay. This should be illegal. They didn't give us enough time to track the rebate. One rep told me, that we were on track with our rebate, another said no they WILL in fact, charge us!!! Also, my plan is set to be around $117 per month, for four lines, this month and previous months it's go over $200 to $300 per month, for four lines, which is ridiculous. I am sending both phones back. My sons phone is broken, I am unable to send that back as he accidentally dropped it. Y'alls phones are terrible. You all are price gauging. I am not paying the $827.

All in all, I'd give google FI A ZERO STAR RATING, but google decides that you HAVE To give it at least a one star. There should be a zero star rating. I filed a complaint with the BBB, they did nothing but say OH CONTACT SUPPORT!!! hello, I've done this alot of times, and constantly get the SAME RESULTS!!! Back to straight talk it is, at least I get 5g with them!!!

Google Fi has the worse customer…

Google Fi has the worse customer service and over all is just otherwise "okay". By worse customer service I mean they basically have none. This was not always the case. when I started with them 6 years ago I had great experience but they have since gone to shit. I dont know if it is just deciding to simply use AI instead of humans and make it impossible to speak to anyone with any actual authority and then cover costs by not paying any of these people and being ok with loosing customers because of those cost saving measures but its a shitty way to go about it. make people feel somewhat heard and valuable and they will stick with you. Right now for me, coming out of this experience google fi is black listed, i will never go back to this service on principle because of how shitty these past few months have been of dealing with you.
