GoPro Auto-Upload Broken, Support Non-Existent: A Two-Week Nightmare!

To GoPro Customer Support,

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction and frustration with the ongoing lack of resolution regarding a persistent technical issue with my GoPro device, despite extensive troubleshooting and repeated communication from my end.

For over two weeks, I have diligently cooperated with every request from your support team. This includes providing numerous proofs of the malfunction, performing standard troubleshooting like factory resets and firmware updates, and even fulfilling more technical data requests. All these steps have been completed promptly and accurately on my part. Yet, the core problem with the auto-upload feature continues to persist.

As previously communicated to GoPro, I have also meticulously tested the issue across multiple Wi-Fi networks to rule out any external network interference. It's crucial to note that until just a few months ago, I experienced absolutely no problems with auto-upload using these very same wireless networks. This clearly indicates the issue lies within the GoPro ecosystem itself.

I am currently paying for an annual GoPro subscription that grants me access to cloud uploads, a feature I am completely unable to utilize due to this ongoing malfunction. I initially reported this problem weeks ago, specifically highlighting that I will be traveling next week. As a direct consequence of this unresolved issue, I will be forced to either miss out on hours of crucial footage or incur the additional expense of purchasing a second memory card out of my own pocket. This situation is entirely unacceptable.

Furthermore, the scarcity of communication from your support team is both disheartening and incredibly frustrating. I was informed that the problem had been escalated to an internal team and that I would receive updates. However, days have passed with absolutely no further communication or progress reports. This lack of follow-through and transparency is simply appalling for a company of GoPro's standing.

This unequivocally poor experience will lead me to two immediate actions: first, I will be demanding a full refund for my annual premium subscription. Second, and more importantly, this entire ordeal has solidified my decision to transition to a different brand that demonstrates a more serious commitment to product reliability and customer satisfaction.

I expect an immediate and effective resolution to this problem.

I have a GoPro Hero 11 that overheats and shuts down. I’ve tried two batteries and the problem persists. I’m paying for the subscription and warranty but have received no support. Very disappointed with the customer service.

A company in decline

Reading these reviews to see if I should upgrade my Hero 6, the answer is a definitive no!

I can't believe that I almost forgave them for abandoning firmware upgrades for the hero six despite regularly crashing. What I read here reminds me that my first impression was right. And the GoPro Max two debacle just reinforces the view that this is a company in terminal decline

What a waste of time

What a waste of time! Bought Hero11 which started malfunctioning within 6 months. It took an enormous amount of effort to actually get hold of anyone to agree a replacement. Had to send it at personal cost to Germany. Months later got the replacement which is broken - error messages and won’t charge. Save yourself a lot of cost and pain and buy something else.

I tried to use my brand new hero black…

I tried to use my brand new hero black 13 on a river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest, but it kept overheating even though it was outside the cabin facing an open window with breeze blowing past it all the time. Gave up in the end and swapped to the DJI osmo 3 pocket, no problems there.
Very disappointed with gopro.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM GOPRO. Their equipment is awful, the whole GoPro eco system is pathetic. Their support is non existent and their add-ons don't work. Try getting their help , and its just a nightmare. What a waste of money , time and effort AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Pathetic awful company.

I purchased a brand new GoProHero 13…

I purchased a brand new GoProHero 13 BLACK. I took it on a vacation to Galapagos. It worked for about 10 pictures, then it blacked out. There was no way of fixing it. Upon my return (with hardly any pictures) I tried to get it repaired. Remarkably, GoPro has no system for this. I was advised there is no repair service available...anywhere. I requested a replacement, and they kept asking for information over and over again which I provided. Basically, it appears as though they make it so difficult to get an answer or any action, you just give up. There is no one you can speak to. I would never buy another product from them, and my advice to a prospective buyer is to beware.

I've had the Gopro Quik app for years

I've had the Gopro Quik app for years, used it a few times but recently tried uploading some video footage and it will not upload, I just paid for another years subscription and none of my saved (cloud) videos are viewable. I messaged the Quik customer services but no reply. I can't figure out another way of saving my videos without using the Quik app and now it's useless to me. The camera itself it rally good except the battery life but now I'm unable to view my videos on anything other than the gopro camera itself. for the price of the camera and app it's a rip off

Need My Go Pro Back

Greetings, dear friend! My GoPro Max camera broke at the end of December 2023. I contacted the support team via gopro.com, their official website, and they advised me to send them the broken GoPro to Venlo, Netherlands. I sent it. When I followed up with them three weeks later to inquire about the status of my camera, they sent me an email saying, "Thanks for patiently waiting! It would appear that since your name has appeared on a restricted parties list, as much as I want to help you out, we are not permitted to ship out the product to you. The list is not maintained by GoPro and we do not have the ability to circumvent its restrictions".

They are unable to send back a replacement camera because my name is on restricted party list. I asked them to return my camera, but they declined. They cannot return the camera to me and instead refer to some sort of list in response to all of my requests in chat. I lost 497 pounds. What caused this to occur? Why, during my phone conversation with the GoPro Support team, was I not informed that my name was on the restricted party list?

I live in United Kingdom, and I have a clean police record and no legal infractions. Now, what should I do? What made them take my camera and not give it back?

GoPro customer support terrible

GoPro customer support is among the worst I have experienced in years. After purchasing a new GoPro and not being able to get it to upload recent updates (thus not being able to use it). I have contacted their customer support, (only way possible is by email). I have been waiting for days for a reply and heard nothing back from them.
GoPro might have a good product, (uncertain), but they could use some training on customer support.
Update: After 3 weeks and no reply I returned my gopro to the company for a refund.

Absolutely 0 customer service

Absolutely 0 customer service. Instead of buying my camera from a local retailer I chose to buy my Go Pro directly as they had an offer for for an extra battery and duel battery charger.

When the Go Pro arrived it did not have the battery or charger.

I contacted customer service thinking it was a quick fix or there was a separate package on its way.

After 2 weeks or trying to resolve the issue, Go Pro stopped responding to messages and said I was not eligible for the battery or charger, even though I had the email stating the opposite.

I’m writing this 18 months later as the camera has fully stopped working after 12 times being used.

Burnt me for life unfortunately.

Stay away

Stay away! Bought a 360 pro max can’t use edit software unless you subscribe! Then only on your phone! Then got notification saying no available on laptop? £99 subscription even though was half way through my subscription (6 months) still charged me £99 download software to then be told apple mac only! No refund given! Stay away no customer support! Tried calling and yes you guessed English speaking none existent. Cancelled subscription! Cancelled bank card! Yet still took £99 off new card as they put continuous payments? Had to call bank to block them! Promise damage replacement no questions asked as part of subscription! Then ask 100 questions just to say sorry we can’t replace item! Pure con artists! BE WARNED!!!!!
