Gorilla Conferencing rocks!

I am a sole proprietorship entrepreneur, and am really new to this whole idea of conference calling. I did some digging around and decided to go ahead and try out Gorilla Conferencing. It was very confusing, and I felt so lost trying to get my first conference call going with numerous parties in different locations. But the customer service help was so phenomenal and so helpful, that everything went off completely smoothly. I loved my experience doing my first call, and I can't wait to use Gorilla again.

Fantastic experience!

Service is easy to sign up, easy to use, and no billing problems whatsoever. Calls are always clear and no drop-offs. Use this both for personal use as well as for a small church. Keeps us all connected at a very reasonable price. Will continue to use this service.

Good enough but some irritants (now solved)

Sound quality is generally good. Easy to use. As far as I know you can't easily change the participant codes. So that means over time you're not sure who has access to your line. And you constantly have to ask "who just joined?" to make sure Customer A doesn't happen to dial in to Customer B's call. Also, it forces everybody through the "say your name step" even though nobody bothers. Would be nice to be able to shut that off.

UPDATE: the above issues can all be solved via the web portal or by calling customer support.

Hi Mike - thank you for taking the time to send in this review. We can change your codes as often as you wish. The say your name step is for roll call purposes - you can hit *92 and listen to the recorded names - of course they have to say their name which is not in your control. We can also turn on a feature that announces their name when they enter the call, exit the call, or both. We can turn off the say your name step if you wish. Please call us at 888-744-7166 and we will make any adjustments to your account that you desire.

Thanks,
Gorilla Conferencing Team

Pretty good teleconferencing service

Gorillaconferencing works every time. Very reliable. The only reason I don't give them five stars is the very annoying technical anomaly that the system asks you to "state your name after the tone and then press the # sign" but *doesn't* announce your entry into the conference. Why ask for your name if the system is just going to send it down the memory hole?

Thank you for taking the time to send in this review. The name recordings are kept in a file during the call, so as moderator you can hit *92 to hear all the names that are on the call with you. Our system defaults to tones on entry and exit as participants join the call or hang up, as this causes the least amount of interruption during the call. If you would like, we can change the settings for you so recorded names are played upon entry, exit or both. Please give us a call at 888-744-7166 and we can change the settings for you.

Thank you,

Good value; prompts take too long

We were frustrated with the quality of free conference call products, so we tried the inexpensive Gorilla service. It's a great improvement; the one problem is that the voice prompts, even the 100th time you have dialed in, take longer than they need to. I'd much prefer a system that, for instance, recognizes my number from Caller ID and lets me skip entering a passcode or recording my name (or at least prompts me to do those things more concisely).

Thanks Pete for taking the time to complete the review. Our system requires a pass code to enter all calls for security purposes. However, we did remove the name record for roll call feature for you. Thanks again and we greatly appreciate your business.

Excellent Customer Service

My company recently decided to try a new conference service for our business conference calls. I found Gorilla and am very glad I did. The service is great, but the customer service is amazing. Steve spent a good amount of time going over the different options with me and helped me pick the one that would suit our needs best. He is very responsive when I have any questions, and helps me get operator assisted calls scheduled. I would absolutely recommend Gorilla Conferencing to anyone that is looking for a conference call service.

Worked Great For Us, Cost Effective

We used this service for a one time event (so far), split into 2 conference calls (to support multiple time zones). Cost was excellent for toll free dial in, our rep set us up very quickly and effeciently.

The calls were a listen-only broadcast of a one-on-one interview using an office speakerphone. From feedback I received, call quality was excellent. We peaked at 80-100 listeners on both 20 minute calls.

The only improvement I could see would be to have a web-based tool for monitoring the call. I understand that there is an Outlook based monitoring tool but I don't have Outlook easily available when away from my desk (cell phone, tablet, laptop).

Update: Good service, reasonably priced OUTSTANDING SUPPORT!

In my initial review, I wrote: I use Gorilla Conferencing to conduct mediations where I want to put different parties in their own virtual rooms. It works very well for that purpose. (I would give it 5 stars if I could control my access to the rooms with a web app instead of my telephone keypad.)

Within minutes of posting that review, I got a call from Support offering to show me a toolbar I could install in Outlook which gives me a web interface to manage my conference calls! I took him up on his offer and within 10 minutes, was up and running using the new toolbar! In fact, we concluded our call with a walk through the web controls during a Gorillaconferencing call. Plus, I learned more about using desktop sharing during a conference call and ways to save money when I do so! Thanks so much for your outstanding support!
