Back in the days
Back in the days; this was my game. The Dutch website was fine. Now it has come back as one international website in which money is priority.
Aside from that; they are advertising with the fact that everyone is welcome. This is a lie. If you have a different perspective which is not left winged; time outs (punishments) come out as easy snacks. For example; I would never date a transgender. This is my preference/opinion. GSM does not tolerate that opinion because trans people might not feel safe or welcome. That is not what has been said…. It is only a preference just as; I won’t date guys smaller than I am.
For that; you can het a time out. When you are not political left winged you cannot share your honest opinion without being punished. Everyone was welcome… were they?
Another one; a lot of people with autism/are on the spectrum are having a hard time over here to participate. Their opinion can be direct, brutally honest or their opinion can be formulated different from others. This is not accepted as well. A lot of people with autism got time outs on this website without their further explaining why they reacted the way they did react.
This website is not all inclusive and one big money grab.

I’ve known goSupermodel since I was a child and I have never been this disappointed. I made a purchase of €30 and three days later I was banned, without knowing the reason. I contacted support via email and have not received any response within the promised 5 days — still nothing to this day. I also reached out via Instagram and received a reply saying something went wrong and that I would get a response within 5 days. That did not happen either! I want a solution, otherwise I will take further action. I’ve been waiting for more than 2 to 3 weeks now.
BAD SERVICE, THEY DONT KEEP THERE PROMISES!
Speed running driving users away
The staff will be lenient on bigots and Holocaust deniers/conspiracy theory spreading. But having negative feedback is an instant time out.
They are also seriously greenwashing their merch site. They market it as sustainable, ethical and size inclusive which it is not. The site they use to produce their merch has been criticized before for unethical treatment of workers and a shirt may say XL or XXL but they are extremely small.
Staff continues to make horrible decisions and each time they deny everything and even directly blame the userbase. The company also has a long history of mistreating volunteers and staff members. They literally wrote a letter to the volunteers saying they are all replaceable. When they kept breaking promises, got caught lying and suddenly fired + rejected potential volunteers with basically no explaination the site was temporarily shut down. When it was back on the staff once again basically blamed the userbase for having a "us vs them"-mentality.
The management is so money hungry
The management is so money hungry. With the right investments and the right choices, gosupermodel could thrive. But it's literally all about the money. Understandable a company needs money but everything they do is about money. Where did the crowdfunding money go? And why are will still waiting on the last features they promised? Development is slow.
They also deleted my account where i spend more than 2500 euro's. Because i misbehaved. But the way they threated my as a cyberbully and criminal while i never did somethign very malicious is so wrong to me.
Hope this site bleeds to death <3
This site was my fav in the early 10s…
This site was my fav in the early 10s but not anymore. The staff is HORRIBLE. It got boring too. Might delete my model soon. Don‘t waste your time on this website full of sensitive people.
Complete joke.
This has to be the worst management ive ever seen. Incompetent. Bunch of middle aged women running this site with 0 competence. Shame on you, i hope you file for bankruptcy. This is a joke.
Mess
they have shut down all ways of communicating after going on a random censorship spree of deleting forum posts,,, this has unsurprisingly made everything way worse as the majority of ppl don't even know how it started.
trying to hide things will not work, it just makes it worse
Is there no shame?
If you want an example of how to not manage a website: this is it.
This is a gaggle of 40 year olds running a website like you would imagine elementary school children to run one. They do nothing to introduce new users but they do their everything to chase away their loyal paying customers.
You get punished for criticising management, you get punished for talking about others being punished, you get punished because a staff member conjures a new rule on a whim and you're breaking it.
The staff recently went full crazy after unfairly removing a staff member and then deleting every post that said anything about this choice or about the management. This went on for a while and then they took away every single way you could communicate with someone on the website. We are talking about forums, chat rooms, friend message boards, private messages, even user created quizzes.
Mind you, this is a website that caps out at about half a thousand active users daily, the number only getting higher during tantrums by the staff.
What does it say about a website when users that have been there since it was opened and used real money to support the website keep deleting their accounts en masse? Nothing good, that's for sure.
Childish and incompetent staff
I have never seen a company self-sabotage so badly. First of all, the moderation has been biased, but shit really hit the fan when gsm decided to fire a mod for no good reason. A mod who advocated for treating the userbase with respect and decency. When explaining why the mod was fired, they claimed she had been ableist, by mentioning this text from the mod: "I don't necessarily think it warrants a sanction since I don't think the intention was bad." and "I think we should be more supportive in topics and trying to educate people instead of sanctioning." NONE of this is ableist. This is causing harm to what ableism really is, and actually hurts people who experience ableism. Do better.
This delusional behavior from staff naturally sparked outrage and justified constructive criticism. And then everyone got their topics and comments locked and deleted, and many have been put in time-out or are banned, simply for speaking up. Nobody broke the rules.
There are also people who have been put in time out for taking or writing gotests, which has nothing to do with the situation.
Whoever went on this childish rampage of mass-deletion and then decided to shut down all communication, deserves to be fired, right now. I have spent my real life money on this site, which used to be so beloved, and I refuse to support it again until staff has been fired and replaced with competent people.
Extreme unprofessionalism
The management has a long history of terrible communication, complete lack of transparency, and unprofessionalism, but the events of 26.2.2025 take the cake in this disaster. Instead of addressing well-deserved critique and concerns, they chose to shut down all communications on the site, and, in an act resembling a toddler throwing a temper tantrum, even removed the in-game item of jailbars due to users using it to protest. If there is one good thing, it's that goSupermodel could be used in future business textbooks as an example of how not to run a business.
Absolute Disaster
If I could give 0 stars, I would. gosupermodel is hands down the messiest, most dishonest, and most mismanaged website I have ever seen. The CEO seems to run the place based on personal whims, going on power trips while the admins blindly follow along like puppets. There is zero transparency, and any criticism—no matter how valid—is met with censorship, bans, or outright gaslighting.
It is a full joke, enforcing rules inconsistently and favoring certain users while punishing others for the same actions. The whole platform reeks of bias, unprofessionalism, and behind-the-scenes drama spilling into user experience.
If you value honesty, fairness, and a platform that actually respects its community, stay far away from this mess.

GoSovietmodel
A desperate cashgrab
I love gosupermodel and it has always been a very nostalgic thing for me, but the owners of the site don't care at all and rarely put any sort of effort into anything other than releasing gopacks costing real money. They don't take criticism, they ask for feedback and do nothing about the suggestions, they shut down constructive criticism or questions about staffs wrongful actions and it takes months to get a response from their customer service. They have completely given up, and it's incredible the site is still up and going considering how they have treated volunteers and the userbase over the last couple of years.
They fired the focus group members who made the site exciting and who came up with creative concepts and ideas, keep in mind these people worked for free, disrespected them and kept their private information without any updates on when it would be deleted from their system, a former admin managed to hack someone on site and gsm has tried to hide that from the userbase locking all topics briefly mentioning it. They don't want to hold themselves accountable fro absolutely anything, and at this point it has become a big joke among the userbase. They fired a moderator for standing up for the userbase and letting people criticize what is currently going on, and they lock all topics that defend her. They are also firing the designers who competed to become designers because they want to "let everyone design", which is going to slow down the collections considering the staff rarely host any form of competitions in general, and will probably forget to ask anyone to design anything good for the site.
Horrible management
Horrible management, I can only agree with all the bad reviews. Do better and don’t act like you care, you openly silence everyone speaking up about horrible treatment by the company. I’m so disappointed, some very cherished nostalgic childhood memories are kind of destroyed by it. This could have been great, but it’s everything but great.
Simply horrid
This site is ran by the most unethical management group I have seen.
The Admins, or Nerys should I say, is very unprofessional, biased and bigoted. They find ways to frame users for bad behaviour to get them off the site. They actively protect fellow bigots and together with the mod team, they act as a clique. It has gotten to the point where if one of them doesn't like something, that person will actively be targeted.
The people they hire are the most vile people I have come across.
The site is a cash grab, the customer service is non existent, staff is very rude and unprofessional.
I have unfortunately quit this game, because management is simply insufferable and the contents of the game are very lacklustre. There is nothing to do and spending money is a waste and it's only going into their own pockets.

Absolute cashgrab
Absolute cashgrab, promised features are either majorly bugged or not even there at all. The owners do not care for the site at all, and they fired volunteers. They ignore feedback completely. They have promised better transparency ever since the site re-opened, but it all comes across as empty promises. This month they've released 7 gopacks at the moment, and the total cost of the gopacks combined is 73.65 euros.

I love that goSupermodel is back
I love that goSupermodel is back! It's so nostalgic and a great place to make new friends. The forums are so lovely, the shop collections by amazing JD'ers, the nostalgic games! I love the volunteers and the seasonal storylines (halloween, Xmas). And friends are just so lovely.

This side is lead by an unserious group…
This side is lead by an unserious group of mods and admins, who just ban and delete anybody that expresses any form of criticism. They act in favor of certain specific persons and exclude others while advertising that they are so tolerant. Mods are absolutely not objective and abuse their abilities to ban people. This side seems to repeat their mistakes and is going downhill again unfortunately.
