Building Site, Not a Retreat
We booked the Brandy Cove cabin through Stay Gower for a peaceful break but were shocked by what we found. On arrival, the first thing you see is an active building project on the owner’s property — not separate at all, but right there as part of the site. The cabins themselves sit within the owner’s private garden (fence or not, it feels awkward), and we later learned they don’t even have planning permission.
Stay Gower and the owner were defensive and inflexible from the start. Instead of apologising or offering any goodwill, they told us we could only switch cabins on the third day of our four-night stay, and the alternative had no garden (unsuitable with two dogs). We ended up leaving early as it just wasn’t enjoyable.
The photos and description are misleading — the cabin felt basic rather than “luxury,” and the shower was so impractical it sprayed water everywhere. We wouldn’t recommend Gower Coast Cabins at all.
