Sent my phone over three months ago

Sent my phone over three months ago, have called and sent numerous emails asking for updates. They said the phone never arrived and so claimed they would open an investigation with royal mail with the relevant postage receipt. As that was well over a month ago I have since called and emailed again after an update and have heard nothing, anyone who answers the phone say they will chase it up. The phone is said to be insured at £150 and my quote was less than that, and so the compensation should have been paid out by now. Would never recommend this company 👍🏼

Sent my 11pro iPhone with a cracked back screen on a Saturday, was quoted £132 for it. By Monday afternoon I received a text to say they’d received it and were checking it over. By Wednesday morning I had the full amount quoted in my bank account. Great company.

Not great

Ok service, not great prices. Timely and efficient postage however I sent my phone in described as damaged since the screen and back glass were cracked. No other issues and got quoted a new price of just £10. Was disappointed with this so I rang customer service and got offered another £20. No where near the original price quoted.

Poor

Poor,
I was quoted a price for my iPhone, and was given a price significantly lower being told there are other issues with the phone which were not there.
The picture sent did not resemble my phone (being a different colour).
I had gone through the software and battery life recently with my mobile provider and there were no issues but ironically, there are now issues.
Probably were their intentions all along. It’s just disappointing that they can’t honour their prices.

False advertising

I used this company to sell two iPhone 11s. To be fair it took me a few weeks longer to send the phone due to illness and other reasons but when I did, I got an email downgrading the valuation from £160 to £35 for both phones, which is absolutely a huge reduction! I then checked online and used the quote service to estimate a ‘broken’ iPhone 11 and they were quoting £90, a complete discrepancy between the price they are now offering me.

I have rejected the offer and they keep messaging me with a ‘new offer’ which is the same low original offer. This has happened 8 times as they keep messaging me the same offer, and I keep rejecting over and over again.

I’m very disappointed with my experience of this company.

Don't be fooled!

So I checked their website for the value of a damaged 64Gb IPhone XR which was in perfect working order but with the rear case cracked/splintered, everything else working as it should with 81% battery health. The value quoted was £64 which is less than I could get on Gumtree etc. but given the condition thought I'd take the easy route. I sent the phone as requested and received notification a few days later informing me “Fault(s) Found: LCD Dead, Excessive Damage, Cracked Back and a new offer price of £10! The LCD was not dead and there was no excessive damage, just a cracked back as I had highlighted and which the price accounted for. As such I reply declining the offer and asking for more information because there were no other issues. I received a prompt reply “I have spoken to my manager and we can up the offer to £20 if that is more satisfactory for you? Once again I decline highlighting the valuation already took into account the damaged back and so why were they trying to rip me off? I received another reply offering £30 but this time with an engineers report which highlighted everything had passed and was OK i.e. no dead LCD but the screen itself had been identified as a non OEM part. It works perfectly with no damage and so I wasn’t aware of that, however I only have their word for it and after trying to scam me for £10 I have no faith in them. As a result I asked them to return my phone. They then tell me they will only do so if I pay £8,95 otherwise they will keep the phone. I go back on their website and there’s no mention of this on the front screen, you have to check the small print to find it so in summary. Don’t be fooled, I thought this practice was restricted to the used car part exchanges, Sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case. I’ve given them 1 star for their quick response but suspect this is part of the script as most people will avoid the hassle of asking for its return.

Excellent experience

The pre paid envelope is as sent quickly. When I posted my phone the company updated me the following day to say it had been received. Then when they had checked it they sent the money (the quoted amount) within hours! Great service thank you

False advertising. Just another company out to rip you off.

Their website says “We Pay The Highest Price For Broken Devices”, but actually on reading the fine print, I found their definition of broken says the device must be fully functional with cosmetic damage only. In my opinion, that’s not a broken phone, is it?

After receiving my phone (which had a malfunctioning LCD screen but was otherwise in perfect condition), they downgraded my quote from £109 to £34.

When I rejected my offer, they demanded £8.95 to return it.

So I’m now £8.95 worse off, and they have wasted my time.

Avoid

Avoid. Received an email once my phone had been received giving a revised cost £46 lower than the original price. Phone was in excellent condition, however battery health was average. Looked online and a faulty version of the same phone was being listed at almost £20 above my revised cost. Called and spent almost half an hour asking why the reviewed cost was so low, they couldn't give a reason other than advising me the cost of phones changes at an hourly rate and that was the going rate at present, putting me on hold a number of times. Utterly ridiculous and a waste of time. I will go with a well-known company and save the hassle next time.

Misleading company

Recycled a iPhone 12 in a broken condition with these people as the screen was broken. As stated in there terms “Device can be cracked and/or chipped but must be intact.” However after they assessed the phone they have reduced the amount they are paying out due to the device having a cracked screen despite that being the reason I select the broken condition. Seems like these guys are chancers that offer a price then do their best to weasel out of it. Will never use again and definitely wouldn’t recommend them.

Excellent price offered and fully honoured

Very easy to deal with and they kept their promises - I was offered an excellent amount in comparison to other mobile buying sites. Often you hear stories of spurious reasons that buying sites don't offer the full amount on receipt of the phone, but Gr8 Mobile paid the full amount within hours. Would definitely deal with them again.

Highly recommend Gr8. I sent my mobile off to a different site and they reduced the price offered by 75% when they got it so I had it returned and read the reviews for Gr8 and decided to give them a try. After they checked it I got the price offered and the money was in my account the same day

Hi I had been offered £230 for my I phone but when they received it they rated it below good condition, it was put in a protective case, which also covers the screen.the day it was bought. They emailed me which went into spam so I did not see it offering me £125.They paid me that sum which was not acceptable.I put a negative review on which they quickly replied to, a few emails back and forward and they paid me the £105 and asked if I minded amending the negative trust pilot which I have done. Be careful on what condition you rate your phone as this can happen. thank you Dan for sorting it Thomas
