I feel I've been cheated.

I feel I've been cheated. I only used it once on a trial and they have withdrawn £120 from my account. And to add to my dissatisfaction the suggested changes to my writing were incorrect.

This is the worst company ever

I used it only once. The program is useless and good for nothing. Then I had trouble cancelling it. In the meantime, they withdrew money from my account. When I finally managed to cancel it, instead of refunding the money, they informed me that I could still use it for another month, which is useless to me and I don’t want it. This is the worst company ever.

Terrible product and customer service

Terrible product and customer service. The product does nothing more than catch basic typos—a feature already built into any free word processor. But it interrupts the writing experience, constantly popping up dialogue boxes that obscure your view and distract you from finding your thought. It’s a nightmare. I have tried to uninstall and unsubscribe multiple times and it won’t go away. It feels like a virus at this point. And there’s no way to contact customer support. They just bury anything helpful. After seeing such terrible reviews online, I’m convinced this company is a scam.

I would not recommend this company

I would not recommend this company. The business practice of automatic billing without notice is ridiculous. No responses from customer service when asking for a refund make it worse. BEWARE - your hard-earned money should be used elsewhere.

Moderate becoming poor

I have been using this service since 2016, and in each version, I have become increasingly disappointed by some technical issues. Most of the time, it does not work, and when I try to open or run the app, it directs me to the web version. Cancelled my subscription and will never pay a penny for a service that does not commit to improving quality.

Grammarly is no longer a helpful tool

Grammarly used to be a helpful tool, but the current desktop app is so broken it’s basically unusable. It constantly lags, crashes, and forces you to copy all your work into a web browser just to get anything done.

It feels like the company is cutting corners and shifting the burden onto users instead of actually supporting or fixing their product. For $120 a year, that’s completely unacceptable.

There’s no real tech support, no sign of proper bug testing, and no care for the user experience. It’s clear they don’t value their paying customers.

Avoid at all costs — there are better, cheaper, and more functional alternatives out there.

I would give it ZERO stars if I could

I would give it ZERO stars if I could. I paid for a year's premium subscription in September. I use it for book editing on a desktop computer. They have just said desktop editing is no longer available. They have been pushing me to use AI for over a year-something I have no interest in using. Now they are forcing people to go online to do the editing using AI. They stole 8 months of premium payments, since I cancelled, and will receive no refund only 8 months of "FREE USELESS" online editing.

Grammarly monitors content and regulates what you write.

I would give it a 3.5 rating if I could, for its technical ability to improve grammar and the reading flow, which is great for corporates and students. But they monitor and regulate assistance if you’re writing a story with graphic content. I’m writing a story about the violent history and ongoing crime in South Africa, which is true. Let’s get real; it’s not nice, but a story that must be told - like any reporting about the slaughter of innocent people, be it Israel, Palestine or any other country. If their algorithm deems writing inappropriate, a message: “Can’t help with this text. Grammarly assistance is unavailable because the text may contain sensitive content. Try with different text.” pops up. I emailed them about this and explained what I’m writing about with examples. I was pointed in the direction of their policies and all of that. The software is still useful, but please be aware that they’re regulating and restricting you - it’s their right, but not clearly explained before you commit for a year. ChatGPT expresses that their policies may be violated, but they give you the benefit of the doubt - that’s fair. 11 Labs is great - I feel like a grown-up working with them. CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS NON-EXISTENT

APPLE AND MAC USERS BEWARE.
Literally worst support ever, mainly because it is non-existent.
I have submitted six support cases within the 3 days after purchasing their $139.99 annual plan. I have received ZERO responses or notes added; in fact, about 40 mins after each case was set to open, it was reviewed and SOLVED without ANY CORRESPONDANCE WHATSOEVER.
I used my Apple ID to sign in and hid my email (BIG MISTAKE) from here. I have been unable to receive emails because it's not being routed to my Apple ID.
So because I signed in with Apple, I never got to create a password; now I cannot use it on ANY OTHER device except for my original iPhone it was purchased.

You can only create your password by having them send you an email, and you can only change your email once you've created a password.

Basically, I had to call my bank to request a chargeback because there is no such thing as Grammarly support.

It should be criminal to charge this much money for a product without phone, email, OR LIVE CHAT SUPPORT. This is absolutely ridiculous

this is how they handle their paying customers?

They solve the problem later..

I’ve been trying to fix a payment issue with Grammarly for over five days, trying to resolve an issue (case 6879706). Despite promises of updates within 48 hours, they’ve responded with Nothing but Silence, even after multiple reminders.
Is this how they value Paying Customers? If They Can’t Even Manage Basic Communication, why should anyone waste time and money on them?
There are plenty of other options out there (maybe much batter then them), and if they can’t even handle this, why bother with them at all? Or maybe they're the ones who don’t deserve my money. Honestly, this is beyond Disappointing - it's Infuriating.

Great product being driven into the ground by short-sighted management.

Been using Grammarly free for years. It is a great product. Recently, they decided to make the free version super annoying by constantly showing corrections that you cannot apply without paying for premium. Although I don't like these practices, I decided to pay for premium since I've been using it so long.
As soon as I subscribed to premium, I started receiving unsolicited e-mails from Grammarly. Seems like for Grammarly, paying customers should see MORE adds not less. This to me indicates that privacy is not a priority, which for a company that can literally see everything I type is unacceptable.
Also, most of their "premium" suggestion are weak and sometimes wrong. I end up rejecting most of them.
It is a clear example of a company with great engineers and short-sighted management

I accidentally paid for the annual subscription instead of the monthly plan around ten months ago. I immediately contacted Grammarly support and requested a refund and a change to the monthly subscription. After two months of waiting, I still haven't received my refund. On top of that, they charged me again this month for the monthly subscription, even though the issue is still unresolved. It's been days since I reached out, and there’s still no response from their support team. I am very disappointed with the service.

as with the other reviews, they took £120 from my account which was supposed to be a monthly DD. when I complained they closed my subscription and only refunded me £95 as an apparent goodwill gesture! very disappointing service and not to be trusted, there are other companies worth investing in.
