The Regular Beef Pemmican Bar is a combination of grass-fed beef jerky, grass-fed tallow, a touch of honey, dried cherries, and sea salt. It is a tried and true historic Native American recipe. Ingredients: beef jerky, beef tallow, water, cherries, honey, sea salt When comparing fats for cooking and consumption, remember; all fats are not created equal. Conjugated Linoleic Acid or (CLA) is an omega-6 fatty acid (naturally occurring trans fat) found primarily in Beef and Dairy. Studies have shown these fats may provide a whole host of health benefits. These are very different from the trans fats found in manufactured hydrogenated vegetable oils which have been linked to inflammation and obesity. The reason why grass-fed is important in this regard is because the amounts of CLA present depends significantly on what the animals eat. By most estimates, grass-fed and grass-finished beef and dairy can be 300-500% richer in CLA than grain-fed animals. Probably the true answer to feed the world. So the wealthy at the top of the food chain do not have to continue deforesting the world to grow food for cattle that they raise. We got enough.

I've been purchasing pemmican from USWM for a few years now. I purchase both the pail and the bars. Usually it's amazing and I love it!! My last couple orders of the regular bars really, really smell foul. I was told it was because of the animals diet but I have never noticed this with any of my other purchases over the years. If there was a more eco friendly packaging option that would be amazing!! And appreciated!!

Pemmican needs to be frozen??? None I have ever had, and the taste is just fat couldn't tell there was any Beef in it.

Thus is MY Opinion only, others may strongly disagree. Just because this product is not for me, doesn't mean you shouldn't try it. When thawed the product had a consistency of a potted meat or a paste. I question if it's precooked, with no computer and only a small phone I was unable to confirm either way. This product is not for me.

I love these bars..they taste great & are an easy way to add more protein 2 the diet, but be careful not 2 eat the plastic wrap which i did the 1st few times until I contacted the company & they said it was "inedible" & told me the easiest way to peel the wrapper off!

I wanted authentic pemmican so I would relive the life and times of the Voyagers. I felt like a real Voyager, but this stuff is not fit for human consumption. It is not even possible for a human to finish one stick. However the dogs absolutely love it.
