Have you tried and fell in love with Pemmican? If so, Regular Beef Pemmican Pail is a more cost-effective and convenient way for you to enjoy Pemmican. It is the same recipe as Regular Beef Pemmican Bars, only in a 2-pound pail.
Some customers like the pail for customizing pemmican mixes by thawing and adding their own nuts and dried fruits.
Ingredients: beef jerky, beef tallow, water, cherries, honey, sea salt
When comparing fats for cooking and consumption, remember; all fats are not created equal. Conjugated Linoleic Acid or (CLA) is an omega-6 fatty acid (naturally occurring trans fat) found primarily in Beef and Dairy. Studies have shown these fats may provide a whole host of health benefits. These are very different from the trans fats found in manufactured hydrogenated vegetable oils which have been linked to inflammation and obesity.
The reason why grass-fed is important in this regard is because the amounts of CLA present depends significantly on what the animals eat. By most estimates, grass-fed and grass-finished beef and dairy can be 300-500% richer in CLA than grain-fed animals.
Your preference for storage will determine the pemmican’s shelf life. We suggest the following storage guidelines to our customers:
Store pemmican bars and pails in the freezer for 2 years
Store pemmican bars in the refrigerator for up to two weeks
Store pemmican pails in the refrigerator for up to 7 days
Pemmican bars with sea salt are ok for weekend camping trip without refrigeration
Keep in mind the label recommends to keep frozen for best practice

This pemmican is not like any other I’ve purchased. It’s almost not eatable. It’s like it was made with boiled and shredded meat rather than dried. Has more of a patte paste consistency rather than pemmican.

Was very interested in pemmican. I tried making it myself. The YouTube videos and mine, the product was very different. Your pemmican has a very different texture, much like a liverwurst. I like liverwurst. With a tomato and Dukes, it makes for a great sandwich. With the shipping it is expensive, but, worth it.

I acquired a taste for this years ago when I was eating a quasi-paleo diet. I find that it pairs well with coffee. Ordered again as I’m trying to eat healthier. It’s a good alternative to carb snacking in the afternoon. I’d love it if you had a shelf stable version, but for my purposes, keeping it in the freezer is fine

So freakin good! It took me a few bites to figure out this very different type of food but now I cant stop eating it. Especially perfect if you're following Paleo or Keto or any of those kinds of diets. Only annoying bit is you have to buy a few pails at once. That's kind of just a physical limitation though, they have to ship everything frozen and the shipment needs enough mass to retain the cold temps during travel.

I love the pemmican from U.S. Wellness! Buying it in a pail is an economical way of getting it. I made smaller portions and froze them. Easy. If you are not familiar with pemmican, it is food that provides very long-lasting energy and satiation plus is able to be carried with you out of the fridge for a period of time...stays good. The American Indians ate it on their long trails...gotta be good.
