This was my first time trying pemmican. It was interesting. I look at as a “it gets the job done” type of meal. Two things: 1. I wish that it was more shelf/freezer stable. 2. I wish it was vacuum sealed flat like a sheet. This way you could freeze it, score it, and break it up into squares for a serving on-the-go.

I bought beef pemmican from US Wellness for many years but stopped during the Pandemic because the quality diminished. The ratio of fat to beef increased to an unacceptable level. I recently decided to try the product again, and the quality has been restored. When I previously purchased the product, free shipping was available for an eight-pound purchase, the equivalent of four pails. Now, free shipping is available with a fifteen-pound purchase, the equivalent of 8 pails. This makes the product less affordable and desirable for me because it is untenable for one consumer to purchase the product in that quantity.

Very filling. Quick to prepare. Great for carnivores.
I found it hard to eat 2 lbs of pemmican before mold set in. I was very happy with the product but will buy the 2oz packages next time.
This is a very good product. Makes me very energetic! Highly recommended.
This stuff really isn’t even edible. I’ve been making my own for years, this product seemed worth purchasing since making your own is so time consuming to do correctly. I was wrong. It tastes and smells really bad and it made me nauseous and gave me diarrhea. I was told that they can’t grind the lean meat when it’s dry (that’s what makes the pemmican shelf stable) so they leave moisture in it and then it must remain frozen. I was told to mix it with honey for flavor. I did that so that it wouldn’t go to waste, but then it made me sick. If you bought this, I recommend checking to be sure it’s ok before relying on it for food. Smells like catfish bait, tastes like bad dog food. Do not buy this
