I purchased a Gravely Pro-Turn Z 52"…

I purchased a Gravely Pro-Turn Z 52" from a local dealer. This is my first zero turn so it didn't occur to me to check reverse was even only forward.

When the controls are pulled back all the way the right side has about 4 inches more travel than the left resulting in the mower turning left in reverse.

There is no adjustment for reverse - only forward. The dealer drilled and tapped a hole to install a bolt as a 'stop' for the right control. Essentially rather than fixing the left side to match the travel of the right they had to handicap the right to match the left.

For a commercial mower costing $7,000+ I expected better.

Gravely offered me a hat for bringing the issue to their attention... The dealer told me they have another brand new PJro-Turn Z that is exactly the same.

I suspect this is a design flaw. Overall the mower feels like it's lacking in reverse.

Truth be told if I had discovered this before taking delivery I wouldn't have purchased this machine but now I'm stuck with it.

I have test ridden several other mowers from other manufacturers since purchasing this Gravely and finding this issue and the Gravely is the only one I've found to have this issue.

I left this review originally on Gravely.com - as it's an honest review of my experience with the machine - and I can't say I'm terribly surprised they pulled it down. They didn't reach out to me, they didn't try to make things right, they just deleted the review. This isn't good customer service nor is it a good experience. I expected better.

This will be the first and the very last piece of Gravely, or Ariens - Gravely's parent company, equipment that I will ever own. Rather than addressing issues they hide them and pretend they do not exist.
