Misleading marketing and photos for Doze mattress topper

I purchased their Doze mattress topper which is basically the same material and structure as Purple mattress for that very reason. I wanted to sleep on their open cell gel cubes with just an organic stretch cover on top. Their pictures clearly showed an open gel structure. The descriptions stated that you would feel a comfortable gel on your body. There were ZERO pictures of the actual product, but of course I didn't know that. When I received the topper I was very surprised. There was glued polyester (which sleeps hot) on BOTH sides of the topper with no gel exposed. There was so much glue, glue on every single side of every square. This was not what I expected or wanted, since I'm building a toxin free DIY mattress. Their return policy simply stated "100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied", there was no mention of return shipping fees or anything like that. Just simply said FREE RETURNS - 100% MONEY BACK. Their argument to me was "Free returns just means you can return it to us without paying us for it, but it doesn't mean you won't need to pay shipping". What? Who says that? a normal person sees "FREE RETURNS" and assumes they won't have to pay to return. Period. Also, what reputable company doesn't post a picture of the ACTUAL product? Like zero mention of the glued polyester on both sides.

I purchased a Gravid weighted blanket a couple of years ago and have been pleased with the blanket itself, but the quality of the covers has been very disappointing. Over time, I’ve bought four covers: three had zippers that broke, and the most recent one didn’t even fit my blanket due to a change in dimensions.

When I reached out to customer support, they offered me 30% off a new weighted blanket, which would still cost $190—after I’d already spent $150 on the cover alone. It’s frustrating that a company would make changes like this, especially during challenging economic times. I expected better quality and customer support from Gravid.

Gravid doesn't care about you

I ordered blanket and the cover was shipped separately. I live in a high theft neighbourhood and recommended to staff that they should be having such high price items require a signature upon delivery. Low and behold, the cover was stolen right off my porch.... I contacted Gravid and they said... (In short) thanks for your money ... too bad. My solid business advice was well worth the $15 cover IMO, but a one time purchase/profit must have been far more lucrative🤷‍♂️. Some people/companies are so short sighted. Chapter 7... not too far away.

Scam

Ordered a cooling weighted blanket with next day shipping. After 3 weeks of not shipping and lack of response from customer service, I had to get my bank to dispute the credit card charge. Avoid at all cost.

Horrible quality and terrible customer service

I ordered a weighted comforter and cover in September of 2023. While I love the comforter and the design used to keep it securely in the cover, within 2 months, the cover ripped near an external zipper (near a seam, but not on it). I reached out the customer service, sent them photos, and requested a replacement cover. They indicated that it was out of warranty (which was only 2 weeks) and could only offer me a discount to purchase another cover (which, I pointed out, would likely rip as the first one). They then stopped answering my emails.

I took the cover to an alterations place and they fixed it, but two months later, another rip appeared, again near the zipper, but not on the seam.

I reached out to customer service again, and while they were very nice on the chat and ensured me they would take care of it, they never responded to my submission of photos of the cover, or any followup emails I wrote.

In the end, I had to purchase a duvet cover (about $100) and pay to have it altered into one that would work with the weighted comforter (another $100, since they had to cannibalize the zippers from the broken cover to use in the new one).

If you do purchase a weighted comforter from them, know that you will have to also buy a separate duvet cover from somewhere else and find someone who will remove the zippers from their cheap on and use it in making a custom one.

All they have to do is use a fabric in their covers that is heavy duty enough to withstand the weight of the comforter itself. That, and actually provide customer service, instead of radio silence.

zipper does not hold up and broke

Blanket is not the worst quality and love that there are two zippers. Unfortunately the zipper’s strength does not hold up and broke. Gravid advised me to go to a seamstress. Disappointing service for such an expensive product.

I’m so frustrated

I’m so frustrated! I bought a blanket in 2019 and the zipper broke a few years later. My mom recently purchased a new cover for me as a gift. The website doesn’t say they changed the zippers. It only talked about the changes in size. So now I have a cover that won’t zip. I spoke to customer service and they were not helpful.

Horrible Customer Service

I have purchased 3 blankets in the last 4 years and the quality keeps getting worse each time. The most recent time I purchased a blanket and the cover came ripped. I contacted customer support and they said the rip did not affect the performance. When I am spending hundreds on a blanket I expect the product to be in perfect condition when I receive. Tried contacting again to ask to exchange the ripped cover… no response. If I can get a response I will be returning all together. Not worth the money with the horrible custom service that doesn’t back their product. Very unfortunate as the first blanket I bought 4 years ago was great, too bad the quality has declined.

Avoid this company

They use false advertising on their website to trick you. Clever wording and hiding facts.

I bought their 2 for 1 special thinking I would get 2 blankets. Only one blanket showed up with 2 covers!
The website makes it seem like each blanket is it's own type when in reality they're all the same blanket with different covers.

I run hot. So I bought their cool package. There's nothing cooling about it. I was sweating all night and that's during winter! I couldn't image using it in summer.

"Hassle free returns" is a blatant lie. I paid almost $90 out of my own pocket to ship it back to them! That's right. I'm out $90 for trying a product! Not only that, they hide where it says you have to ship it back to them on a separate webpage to scam you.

The packages arrive in untaped boxes with the items inside ziplocks so you have no way of knowing if they were used already. Very gross.

Please head my advice and avoid them at all costs!

Non Existent Customer Service

Ordered in October, arrived in December.

Hole in the blanket -> Customer Services suggestion = 25$ voucher

I can't even rate the item itself which is fine and is weighted as indicated but ordering and resolving issue with them has been horrendous

Do NOT buy from this company!!

Do NOT buy from this company! I ordered a queen weighted blanket bundle during the black friday promotion for my husband. The bundle included a set of sheets and a pair of slippers. When the package arrived the weighted blanket was a twin instead of a queen, and there were no sheets or slippers. When I contacted customer service they gaslighted me saying I never ordered the sheets or slippers. When I told them the blanket was the wrong size, they said it was just old packaging but the blanket size should be correct. We measured it -- it was not the right size. When I asked to return it, they didn't even provide a shipping label, so I had to pay an additional $65 just to return this order that was both incorrect, and missing items. So now I'm out $366.45 for the "bundle," and another $65 for shipping. These guys are absolute crooks -- I'd suggest you take your money somewhere else.

Reply from Gravid Weighted Blankets

I'm sorry you feel this way Michaela. We've checked your order and you never added the sheets or slippers. All items (even free items) need to be added by you into the cart. We prompt customers to do this through the flow on our website as you need to pick your colours/sizes and we cannot arbitrarily ship out items without having your selections. We'd be happy to offer discounted sheets and slippers at this point but cannot offer them for free as your order shipped with the items that you ordered.

Still adjusting to king sized DOZE gel…

Still adjusting to king sized DOZE gel topper. It was a struggle for these two octogenarians to get it out of the box and roll it up the stairs one step at a time. We were able to lever the topper to the top of the mattress we slept well the first night after all the physical effort.
Sleep patterns are still in a state of flux.
No directions were included regarding order of placement but thanks to Google we seem to achieved what was intended.
