I ordered a book that was described as a hardcover and received a paperback. Trying to return it was difficult and then they didn’t pay for return shipping. So I lost money for their error. Horrible customer service. When I think of the time I wasted communicating with them on top of paying a return the book… actually it’s a great business model. Sell on a platform where there are no revenues and screw people over. It the American way.

Over 10 days and I am still waiting for my book to ship. I have sent them messages about this on Abe Books and this shop just sends a canned response that the order is being processed. I have reported them to Abe Books.

I ordered a book from them. They sent it with the wrong address. I sent them a screenshot show. I never got it because they said I had the wrong address even though it had the wrong address because they put it on there. They told me I had to wait for them to get it back before they could pay me for their mistake. It's been well over a month.I still haven't heard anything back except I haven't got it.Which is impossible. Ordered book incorrect edition. Emailed them but so far no response.

I ordered a book on 3/4/26, was told it shipped, and was given a tracking number. It was supposed to arrive by today the 24th. Tracking number comes up as USPS has not received the item yet. As you can see from the other reviews this site appears to be a scam. Now Im out the book and my money. Will be forwarding this to any scam site review I can find.

Ordered a book costing nearly £50 from these people, on the 19th January 2026. Expected delivery 14th February. Has never arrived.
Have received no help or support from this clients, nor any response to my last two e-mails.
They gave me a tracking number for a firm ppxtrack.com, which it turns out is somewhere in the Far East. So the impression which they give of having U.K. based stock is false.
Have given up any hope of receiving either book or a refund. Although an initial contact from Abebooks, having picked up on my my emails to to this "firm", suggested that they would address this issue, no further movement from them.
I have learned only recently that Abebooks was acquired by Amazon, so would have very little confidence in them bothering to help.

This book seller does not have good business integrity. I will not buy anything from this seller again.

Very disappointing, order placed thru abebooks, I checked the seller was listed as UK. Expected on or before 30th January. Checked tracking on the 30th and it was showing as being in Illinois, US. I sit here awaiting a gift for my daughters 18th birthday which appears to be doing a world trip! Any messages I have sent to the seller have not been responded to.

I ordered a murder mystery book through abe books in December not realising that it was great book prices uk who were the sellers. When the book arrived at the beginning of January it was the wrong book. I ordered an E.C.R.Lorac murder mystery and received a missing passages from the bible. Not quite the same. I’ve been going round in circles asking for the mistake to be rectified. All I’m getting is an automated reply telling me my book has been delivered. Yes a book has been delivered just not the right one. I’m going to try asking for my money back. I don’t hold out much hope though.

I ordered a book from GreatBookPricesUK through Abe Books. GreatBookPricesUK purport to be a GBR company, which is true in as much as their registered office address is in England. However, the address is actually a firm of accountants. The actual company is GreatBookPrices in America.
I ordered a book on 12th Dcember 2025 with a 5 - 14 Business Day delivery promise. It wasn't despatched until 30th December and finally arrived on the 15th January.
It is a softback book which was sent in a thin plastic mailer. Fortunately it arrived in good condition.

Never received the book. Never replied to my messages. Absolute scammers.

STAY AWAY!!. Ordered a book in june 2025. Never arrived. No refund. Just automatic email-replies.

On 12/11/25 I purchased on the eBay platform a book entitled Rome from Great Book Prices Store (Item ID 38909358416; Oreder # 21-13980-55163). The link said the book would be delivered by Christmas, but when I paid I was given a delivery date of early January. I immediately contacted the seller to cancel the order. The book arrived on January 5, 2026. It was advertised as a “coffee table book.” What a joke-- it was in fact more like a magazine with low quality photographs. I contacted the seller to return the book and was told to go to my “Purchase History” and follow the instructions. However the book does not appear in my Purchase History. When I advised the seller of this fact I was told to contact eBay. However, eBay cannot process items not in my Purchase History. You should steer clear of this seller.

BEWARE OF THIS SELLER, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER.

THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND IGNORE YOU WHEN THE BOOK DOESN'T ARRIVE. APPARENTLY THE BOOK WAS BEING DELIVERED THROUGH WHISTL! WHO THE HELL IS WHISTL? NOT ABLE TO TRACK AND THEN NO COMMUNICATION.

BE WARNED, IF YOU WANT TO GIVE YOUR MONEY TO A SCAMMER, THIS IS THE COMPANY.

Bookjackers! Greatbookprices is deceptive and "relists" another seller's book from a different platform (eg. on amazon from a different seller on Abe). As a bookjacker, they do not own or stock the book, they are the middleman profiting off a marked for a listing you did not see elsewhere. Because they are not the shipper, this explains the long shipping timeframes with no knowledge/support.

I ordered a book via Abe Books from this bookseller for a Christmas present. It didn't turn up. Abe Books will not honour the refund and it seems hard to identify the real culprit.

Hopeless customer service...book arrived in a different year to the order! Avoid..

Ordered a Christmas present on 6 December. Was told it would be delivered by 26 December. Bit of a long time, I thought, but it might still arrive within a few days. Now the 27 December and no sign of the book, just some fairly meaningless tracking info about being in transit. Company is refusing an automatic refund claiming I am suffering from confusion re. the delivery date. Luckily, I had ordered a substitute present from Amazon, which arrived in 24 hours.

sent wrong book,took ages to get reply to chase up. 1 week since wrong book sent, then returned to them, still no reply to e-mails asking for refund. DO NOT, use this company.

This company used Amazon shipping. I avoid using Amazon and don't buy from them, so this was strike one. Strike two - their data protection protocols appear to be abyssmal. I ordered a book and my son, who does not live with me, received a text notification of the Amazon delivery time, as did I on a number I did not provide to them. Since the order was given as a one off & 2 of the phone numbers they used for the Amazon delivery notification were not provided at that point and one of them was not even mine, they must be obtaining data from somewhere, presumably Amazon.
