Great trip. Well managed by our tour guide Debbie Weaver. Our party was a cross section of Americans, Aussies and Brits. A bit hectic some days but well worth it as the weather was sunny every day. The accommodation was good and thanks for the porterage of the baggage. A lovely holiday well run and in good company.
Fabulous holiday. Well organised.
Had a wonderful time my only comment is I would have like a little Moree down time before dinner so as to freshen up and possible have a drink at the bar before dinner other than that absolutely a brilliant time.
I loved every minute of this tour. The scenery was stunning (even when it was raining), meals were very good and our guide, Denise, was brilliant
Fantastic scenery on the train journeys.
For the final (celebratory) meal two glasses of wine per person were included. For non drinkers there was no alternative - not part of the package!
More of a trek than a holiday
Very well organized tour and Martin our tour manager was excellent. Hotels services were good and the rooma in the main spacious. We would have liked air conditioning in some of the inner city hotels as the rooms were very stuffy. Choice of meals throughout the tour was good. I found the talk on the making of whisky informative and enjoyed the tasting. A tour I would recommend to friends.
Edinburgh the Highlands and Islands was my third trip with GRJ! And want to do more!! They never fail to give you the best experience and dinner and above always! Our Tour Manager Rosie was amazing and I would always recommend her! She did everything to make the trip so memorable in every way! The Jacobite train experience was fantastic and Glencoe was breathtakingly beautiful in fact the whole holiday was unforgettable! Thank you GRJ
Hotels and itinerary very good. Very nice group and simply wonderful tour manager in Neil. Weather not special, but didn't really spoil anything. Highlight was probably the Jacobite Steam Train, especially with the unexpected upgrade to first class.
An excellent tour even though the weather wasn't brilliant. Rebecca was very well informed & organised & was most helpful when there was a problem on the train lines because of works. We'd do it again !
The trip was marvellous socially with a big mix of different nationalities. But the distances on buses were too much and there was a fiasco re te Jacobite Train which was anticipated by we two Brits but probably a major disappointment to those who had travelled thousands of miles to be on it. On another journey Scotrail made an enormous error with bookings which inconvenienced regulars, locals and us alike and our leader got the blame, unfairly.
The holiday was interesting, well paced and efficiently organised.

Absolutely loved it. Got to see some fabulous scenery, and missed nearly all the rain and midges Great Railway Journeys were very good to deal with and Deborah our tour guide worked very hard to ensure everything ran as smoothly as possible allowing for train and ferry cancellations
