Ed the Tour Guide was excellent and very patient. Thanks Ed. Not GRJ’s fault, but it was far too hot throughout. Drop 1 star. There was much more walking and stairs/slopes to climb than expected. Most tours are very clear about walking severity. GRJ’s literature was silent. Missed opportunities: on the journey from San Moritz to Interlaken we changed trains 1 stop before Zermatt and so missed being able to see the Matterhorn; on the Jungfraujoch ascent the train climbed inside the Eiger, though we could not see it , but on the way back down we could have changed to the cable car part way down and then actually seen the Eiger; at some of the smaller intraday stops at various stages of the tour we were given far too long freetime periods given the time of year and what there was available to do/see. Drop 1 star. ,

Fantastic holiday. Especially the tour guide Graeme Shearer who went over and beyond expectation.
Lovely holiday. Fabulous hotels and great food. The first class train travel was a luxury. The Bernina and Glacier Expresses were definite high points. My particular highlight was the journey up the Jungfraujoch and visiting Interlaken
Excellent your with a professional and very able tour manager. The rail journeys were fantastic. The day travelling by coach from Innsbruck to a Bavarian castle was very disappointing. 30 minutes tour of the castle but travelled some 5 hours to get there and back. The evening meals provided at hotels was largely disappointing. Lack of choice, poor choices, poor service. Did not match the star rating of the hotels. Would be better to include more meals in restaurants to try local dishes.
Non-plussed to discover the Brits were out-numbered 5:1 by Australians and Americans, despite booking in the UK with a UK company. The Mozart concert and dinner was a waste of time and not value for money - whatever GRJ paid for it. I would have much preferred being given information about public concerts taking place in Salzburg while we were there - I think many of the other guests did not appreciate the evening either, not being classical music lovers. Howard was exemplary - I really enjoyed his company and support. Generally, the holiday easily lived up to my high expectations. Thank you!
Very clean and smooth ride. The team were very friendly and attentive.

Excellent tour let down initially by customer service not responding to original enquiries. A couple of issues whilst away dealt with by the brilliant tour manager but again the company didn't really respond to our complaints satisfactorily on return. Full on itinerary with spectacular scenery and well organised. We had a great time overall.

Fantastic experience. Lin our Tour Guide was Brilliant. Few problems with Trains and aeroplane but not GRJ fault. Party size about right. Our 2nd Holiday with GRJ would definitely book again.
Great hotels. Great tour manager. Good all round trip.

Advertised as First Class but the Eurostar train was canceled ( They Said!!) departing from London. First 6 days traveling on the Munich to Salzburg train ( 90 minutes) and Salzburg to Innsbruck train ( 90 Minutes). Also, The Austrian Lakes excursion was not train but a bus. So just three hours of train travel the first week. The rain didn't help with lots of walking tours especially the first week Group size was good and meals were adequate. Every Hotel staff were great. Steve our manager was on top of everything. Lunch on the train was questionable. Bottled water was extremely expensive. This was our 2nd Train excursion in 7 months with VBR and GRJ.
Too full on for our taste. Very long days and very tiring.We think more should have been pointed out about this iSn brochure details. St Moritz hotel very disappointing and not customer friendly Tour Manager was first class and there were a number of excellent individual experiences .
A well organised holiday with good communication beforehand. Beautiful scenery and interesting tours. The tour manager Richard Hare was excellent.
The entire tour was EXCELLENT. Special kudos to our tour manager, Ivan. He was incredible.
Great itinerary, excellent hotels and well chosen and knowledgeable local guides. All of this combined with the services of an exceptional 5star Tour Manager made this a most memorable holiday.
